The release - Part 3/3: The finish control the ball…

If you wanna control the ball, learn to control where the toe is pointing in the finish. This also explains why most tour pros finish about the same.
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook
Long and straight is every ones goal but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can get better.
Find what inspires you. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant can show you the future of ladies golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it..

I love your videos. You say just the opposite of what the PGA teachers teach. Man you make so much sense. The way you explain is clear and easy to understand. More importantly, it works. Really glad I found you channel.

I found you this weekend....even though I know I should not try something new on the golf course, I did. It was fun and quiet mind blowing! I hit some drives farther than I have in years! I finally hit my pitching wedge farther than I had and my ball striking overall was vastly improved! I wasn't thinking much....I just let my hands and arms do their thing! Thank you! I will continue to work....the driver is hot and cold, but man, when I hit it "up to heaven", it goes! Take care.

Lots of people including myself seek RU-vid professional advice to improve their golf "skills"so they can ultimately improve their golf "game". I love the fact that you explain not only how to do it right but, also how to do it not necessarily wrong! Another awesome series full of great content! Much thanks!

awesome Marcus, saw tiger the other day answering someone who said "what's the best way to get better at golf?" he said don't watch RU-vid ha ha !!! then he added to just "beat balls" love how you explain how to find the little bits to help the individual and let them figure things out, I believe that way you can own your own swing !! Bubba hasn't had a bad career out of it so far !! thanks again for the videos, picking up some awesome little nuggets !!!

Thanks Simon. I agree with Tiger, the secret is in the hard work but the foundation is knowledge and that needs to come first. That you can find on RU-vid. They only work together, one without the other is useless. Not many get to own their swing but that is the goal. Keep going my friend. 💪

I’m really enjoying your series. You use an overlapping grip and you talk about pushing down with your trail hand when using an iron. Can you give more information about this. Is it the fingers of your trail hand doing this or is it the palm of your trail hand.

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Yes, but sometimes in doing this I don't get my full finish. Although I'm hitting it well. I seems better with a smaller divot and better on the follow through. I think I'm do that because I have slightly forward club before I do my swing. It's a work in progress.

Hey Marcus - so glad I just 'discovered' you - awesome content my friend. One quick question that I couldn't see in your other videos (sorry if I missed it!): Your driver swing is dialed in for a consistent draw - that's great. But at our club we have 3-4 holes where a baby fade is required off the tee. I'm interested in what driver setup and swing changes you make when you are trying for a baby fade?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Год назад
Welcome aboard! All my videos will be about the draw but of course I teach fade to anyone who wants. It is a big difference. Set up will be a lot more opened to make it somewhat possible to use the same motion. Ball forward to force myself to swing a little from the outside (not a good feeling). And timing, I need to delay the release to keep the club face opened longer. That will work. 👍

But you still hold the club in the fingers of the trail hand ( I’ve been taught to hold it with the two middle fingers of the trail hand)? But you push with the palm? I really enjoy your videos as I’m 70 years old, played golf for 40 years, but still want to improve my 11 handicap. Will you do any short game work, especially how you judge distance from a green side bunker.

Hello Marcus, thanks again for your videos, they are really helpfull. I have a question, do you try to close the face with your trail hand or wrist or do you just push down with your trail arm and let the release happen ?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Год назад
Hallo again. I move the trail hand forward with my trail arm. That's what closes the face again. I rarely close it with my wrist, it's the pushing motion that's doing the work.
@ikaleris1298

Marcus, do you feel like you stopped your lead arm in order to be able to scoop? Or you just let your trail hand to take over? 😊
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

If your brain tells your body make the trail hand pass the lead hand it will work. The lead hand will slow down to make it possible to pass. 👍

The body can either be a lead or it can go with what the arms do when they are swung or released. Some golf instruction, as Marcus mentions, recommend rotating hips and lower body hard while "holding" lag and hitting with more body. He isn't misleading anyone. It is a choice. You may be the "hardest critic about golf instruction", but need to learn the mechanics of movement patterns and how our brain can interpret those. You can hit it however you want! Lol!
