If you understand how to hit with a proper release you do not need to spin yourself like a tornado. Get clubhead speed with good arm and hand mechanics.
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. I call it the circle of speed. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook. How to swing a golf club need to be adjusted to your skill level and experience.
Long and straight is the goal for everyone but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers.
We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. Everything that you find on the internet isn’t true. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead are two of legends that are often misunderstood.
We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can always get better.
Find what inspires you. Golf basics are the same for everyone. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

I was thinking about the slow hand/fast hand concept you suggested last year. I wanted to find the spot in the impact area where the club head speed was the greatest, which should be where the trail hand passes the front hand or the actual bottom of the swing. This swing bottom can change based upon the amount of lateral movement, which I try it keep to a minimum. So, what I’m thinking about is WHERE the trail hand passes and WHEN it passes. It really enables me to feel the release while swinging freely. At 71 it enables me to keep playing with guys 20 years my junior and hold my own. 😏

I am so glad you have talked about this, I thought I had figured this out but didn't see others doing it so I thought it was just me. Watching you do a full swing, I see that you can not see the second pendulum, so many people could be doing this, so now I am validated that Yes this is the correct way to do it.

Marcus, you’re an awesome instructor and I am using your concepts to develop my swing. Your slow rotation is ridiculous (in a good way) and your relaxed swing is something I am working on. I am getting great results with the one foot/three foot conversion!

Good day Marcus. I hope that you are feeling better. You have found your way into my thoughts and prayers for sure. I was watching you hit the ball and you seem to raise up before taking your back swing. I tried that, and found that it actually gave me more speed or power. The bad thing is that I can't get it to work everytime. I thought maybe if you could explain why you do it. That might help me to do it every time. Thanks Patrick

I hear instructors saying that flipping the hands over is a bad thing, but it seems like you're suggesting it here, if i understood correctly. I am not very flexible or agile and I find my swing very inconsistent with a mixture of pushes, pulls, slices, hooks, you name it.

Hi. Your hands doesn't know what to do and it's time to change that to "smart hands". My hands series will take care of that if you are willing to put in the work. Start here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JYJrkN991ac.htmlsi=bvdiHA1eGDyueeXA

Bad hands my friend. Rolling your wrists will give you a hook. Do this instead, watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wi3xyG-OQNQ.htmlsi=xuwTO1CKNlqY8l_Q

When using 3wood as driver does anything change in the swing technique. Thinking it’s just set up, tee up and hit up and release just like a driver swing. Thank you

Marcus, can you please help me with something. My dominant hand is my left but I play right handed. I spend hours trying to feel the release in my left left hand but I can’t seem to determine exactly when or how it should happen. It seems to work best when I roll the forearms and supinate the left hand during impact. Is this correct?

Hi Michael. We need to teach the lead arm and hand to hit a draw. Watch this and hopefully you will find a way: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9U_zmkPXE6w.html

Do you in any way have anything to do with Mike Dunaway or Mike Austin ? This is exactly what they taught .
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 4 месяца назад
Hi Johnathan from Australia. I think that if you ask most long hitters you will find some of Austin & Dunaway in there thinking. For me there are a huge difference between how we think but not what we do. The use of the trail arm and the fast extension for power is something that everyone is doing that hit the ball longer than normal. I think you we find more and more of this in "normal" instructions in the future and that I will enjoy.

You say your trail hand passes over your lead hand for speed. Do you have to keep your lead arm tight to your side on the follow through to allow it to slow down and your trail hand to overtake ?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 3 года назад
Hi. I don’t keep my lead hand close but I know from testing muscle activity that my hands push towards each other, that will give you more speed. 👍

@@GolfwithMarcusEdbladthank you. Do your hands push against each other from the start of the backswing? I understand your rear hand pushes just don’t know when to start the push of the lead hand. Thanks.

That lead arm looks really bent on the BS, that what we’re shooting for?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

For me it is. If I keep it straight and stiff my swing falls apart. Nothing you have to do but you need to bend it after impact to be able to finish correct.

I take it that you don't swing at the ball at all but rather swing fast early and let the momentum of the clubhead follow through and strike the ball?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

I do hit at the ball but I need to start early to reach maximum speed at the ball. We can't wait or hold it.
