Hey guys! We made it to Day 8/ 30 of daily plant uploads! there was a part of me that thought i wasn't able to make it today but we did it!! I hope you found this video helpful guys! I would suggest the tips around taking care of pests are a good part to take a look at because I've been fighting off spider mites on my strandleyana since the summer time.

Hi, I must say that this is the best tutorial about Monstera Standleyana that I have ever seen or read in the web. Congratulations. By the way I bought one of this specimen few weeks ago and I was lost in terms of watering this guy so you have gave me good tips. Mine is about 80 cms high and I live in Belgium so winters here are quite extreme and now that we are near spring the temperatures are maximun 9 grades and minimun 3. I just keep it always inside not even in my closed terrace with openfire because I dont know if that is good for this plant. I must say that you have a sweet voice and we see you enjoy plants. All the best and many thanks for your video.

I didn't know you had two of these guys! I think the red door and white wall background looks quite nice with the plant's foliage! :) Yet another video where you've managed to hold my attention even though I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the plant you're showcasing (the mark of a good plant-tuber imo). Great work Jessy! EDIT: By the end of the video I feel like I almost want one since the hardiness is a big selling point for me ;)

I always amazes me how different climates require different care. I live in a very dry area and mine grows great in very low humidity (20% if I'm lucky) and I have to keep it in a dish of water.

Yay to Monstera Monday! I honestly find your videos so therapeutic and informative! It's so awesome learning so much about these beautiful plants 💚 we always appreciate all the research and effort you put into your videos! And I'm not minding the new set up and background either hehe 😊 the pop of red and green is so festive! And ohh it's really good to know which plants are / aren't toxic for dogs so I can protect little Hiro 🐶 we have elevated all our house plants and luckily our monsteras are either outdoors or hanging up as a trailing plant! I was speaking to a friend who also recommended a moisture metre too so can't wait to purchase one! 👍

I have started to see these at Bunnings. Super cool that they arent a 500$ leaf cutting there. I'd also like to clarify that eggsehlls as they are are not bioavailable as calcium unless they are baked /dried ground into a power

Great vid Jess 😊. Again, great advice . The red door actually show cased ur Strandleyana wonderfully. The leaves on it are really quite big, they are beautiful. I was never really in to variegation until my pink princess, then i got my white princess, which i absolutely adore. And since then i want/need more variegation in my life 😂. Thankyou so much for sharing.

Pleased you enjoyed the video Sally! I really appreciate your comment! I remember discovering variegated plants and was just amazed that plants could have more than just your standard green on them (pink variegation really blew my mind - pink! naturally occuring in mother nature!) I feel you - I want all the vareigated plants too😂 😂 hope youre having a good weekend!

Thanks Jess, such a beautiful plant. All the best with the spidermites! I noticed Bunnings has lots of different pest sprays that say 'mitecide' and are made from natural ingredients. I don't know if these help with spidermites.
@jessypotplants
@jessypotplants 4 года назад
Oh!! Thanks so much for that! I gotta keep an eye out at bunnings - it would be great to get some natural options and see how effective they are.

The vegetation is stable given enough light. Himitity isnttoo much of an issue. Keep clipping to node space small

I have mines in a self watering plants for a few months now and it grows very slow. I think it hates it because the lower leaves are turning yellow 😭

Hi I have a question why as the monstera start to climb the stem gets skinny and the leaves smaller?
@Intrud0r
@Intrud0r 4 года назад
I think it is because it is investing its energy in climbing. The solution would be to give it more light.

I also think new growth tends to start smaller and start to develop more when it matures!
