i really dont get these people who say its expensive ... in europe its 300 eu for 5 pens . which can last you a lot . at least a month at max dosage . if you compare to how much grocery you're not buying anymore its basically pretty even , actually if you're somebody extremely fat and eat all the time it can result in money saving all around . im doing it since a week and it was the best investment ever .
Hey. I'm with pcos and today I started the Saxenda. I'm not diabetic but my doctor told me the first week to take 0.6, for the second week he told me that we will increase it. I think you just increase it week by week or something like that but it's better to consult doctor because im not sure if my guess is right :))
Also, not sure about the US, but in Europe (Norway) the prescription is free if provided by a overweight doctor specialist, until you are under the overweight category; at least here it will be with no cost until then. If you are healthy weight and you are attempting to lose a bit of stomach weight, this would be a good way but will be pricy no matter where the medication is bought from.
so far, there's no physical reason you have to take it forever. A study of a similar GLP-1 medication (semaglutide STEP 4 trial) showed that people who stopped using it started to gain their weight back... so some people might be on the medication for life at their healthcare provider's discretion. The health habits are important to develop!
You usually ask your dr if you qualify for the drug and then they will prescribe it, depending on your insurance you might have to pay a co pay of $10 a month it’s very affordable BUT only if you qualify
I wonder if it also slows your intestines or just your stomach? You’d think if it slowed your intestines (where the nutrients and fat from the food are absorbed) that you’d gain weight or not lose as much as you could because the longer the food is in there the longer it has to absorb the carbs and sugar and all that. So I guess it just affects the stomach? I don’t have a problem with always being hungry, and I’ve never been a snacker or eat breakfast, it’s just sweet cravings with my PCOS. It’s awful. I eat twice a day my first meal around 1pm (wake up at 6am) and not large plates or seconds, I just got so many calories from sweets. I’ve been doing keto for 5 months and have lost 70 lbs but have stalled and hope this will help. It’s $980! If insurance doesn’t cover it, im just screwed lol.
Started it today at 123kg. I will update my comment soon day 1: I feel sick and nauseous. I couldn't even eat half a portion 10 hours after the first dose. My body is weak and I have no strength to get out of bed.
Phentermine is not a good option for obese people with comorbidities like hypertension. Saxenda is a pretty amazing drug for those high risk individuals
I was on Prozac and I loss weight to 54 kg. Then the psychiatrist changed to Valdoxan and I gained weight 14 kg. Prozac really gave me look like a model.
I have never felt so ill. I tried to persevere, but I could not get out of bed some days, so I had to stop taking it. I am considering giving it another go after reading the comments 😊
It is a scam I think 🤔 so true weight loss first exercise and nutrition I People now how insulin works $400 If your insurance doesn’t cover it in states it’s probably a lot more. thought for you if it is a so affective for weight loss why is diabetics that takes insulin shots most of them are fat
If you want to lose weight and keep it off you need to cut down on the carbs, sugar and vegetable/seed oils. Just keep it simple, keep insulin low and eat whole food: - Eliminate sugar - Eat till you're full - ↓Carbohydrate - Meat, veggies & fat - ↓Procesed food - ↑Healthy fat (tallow/lard/butter/ghee) The following ratios are ideal: 15% protein 80% fat 5% carbohydrates Daily you should also spend as many hours doing physical exersice/sports as you do sitting in front of the TV. For example: if you spent half an hour working outside in the garden you can spend half an hour in front of the TV, if you spent an hour riding your bike you can spend an hour in front of the TV, etc.
Doctors don't prescribe it, may depend what country your in though I'm England. I paid for mine but I should be getting the rest of mine through the weight management course I'm on. So it's either through a weight loss clinic or you pay for it yourself
