I have always been intimidated by sorpotel coming from a family where my G'ma's version could never be surpassed! Hi Wendy. I love your recipes, They are easy to follow as your instructions are clear and simple. I have a quick question, can i use the same spices for the sorpotel if I use beef instead of pork. I have friends that do not eat pork and they miss out on this traditional dish.

Nothing like Sannas and Sorpotel, Welcome dish for a festival. Chunks of pork cooked, Cooled down and neatly cubed. The aromatic masala is blended to a paste, That's what gives the dish it's taste. All the ingredients are brought to a boil, In a pan of onions fried in oil. Sannas and Sorpotel go hand to mouth, I love this Wendy, did you hear me shout??😋😋💞👍😀
Wendy, your recipe is perfect- easy to follow, perfect colour ... & sounds & looks as delish as my mum's sorpotel 😋 Have never made it- too much of a perfectionist so never wanted to fail ☺ Most definitely going to try making it soon! Robin you could definitely use white vinegar instead of red wine vinegar. Put a little less and then you can always add more depending on your taste. Enjoy 😊

Thank you for the fabulous recipe! I had a silly question Wendy. Im very new to goan cooking. I know most recipes use whole spices as you do. I’m looking to do this recipe without having to grind whole spices, is that possible? I have all of the spices you mentioned in a powder format already. Can I use those for the recipe and if so what would the measurements be, (ie, 2 tablespoons of Kashmiri powder, etc) as an example. Hope my question makes sense! Wendy Mam we love sorpotel. Mam instead of red wine vinegar can I use Cane vinegar because we Zoroastrians use it in lot of dishes. Will it make a difference in the taste. Thanks
