I have always done the second way. That's how I learned when I lived in the trout capital of the world, Cotter Arkansas

You got them yesterday? You need to bleed and gut them right after catching.

I’m new to this I was wondering if you have to worry about puncturing a bladder? If anyone could enlighten me, I’ve only ever cleaned a bonnet head shark and I was careful not to poke anything that could leak

Never cleaned trout but that looked easy and simple but what about the skin?
@330Maniac
@330Maniac 6 лет назад
I leave the skin on and eat it usually. Or if baking it falls right off

Never cooked trout but with salmon I leave both the skin and scales on when I cook it. If you make it right all the meat should pull right off :) actually I think it would be a lot more trouble to cook skinless as it would fall apart quick

With Trout I leave the skin on, and then roll them in a little flour after I clean the fish, then throw them in a lightly greased pan. Love eating the crispy tail, taste like pop corn. ;)

I like to leave the head on cause it's easier to fillet
@reellifemn2029
@reellifemn2029 4 года назад
Chasizzler 1942 this would be a “dressed” trout- meaning the fish would be seasoned on the inside or even stuffed, then cooked whole; no filleting needed

My grandfather cut the head and tail off and then gutted it. Also very quick

Those are nice tips but isn't that kind of gross not cleaning your fish until the next day
