Kelloggs yogos were my favorite as a kid! Unfortunately these were discontinued but I swear I still can remember how good they tasted just by looking at their picture! I really loved the mix berry and strawberry/banana ones best!!

Your theory about the food being lesser and smaller is absolutely true. Due to inflation, a LOT of companies decided that, rather than raise the price of their product to compensate, they would cut costs by decreasing the amount of product in the package. The term I've heard for it is "Shrinkflation".
I've always LOVED cosmic brownies since I was a kid, and I still do as an old ass 28 year old. Especially the holiday Christmas tree ones. Krave cereal however was always immensely disappointing to me.
I was at the grocery store recently and noticed they were selling Dunkaroos again. Apparently, they were discontinued around 2012 and revived in 2020 so they probably did change the recipe. It’s sad they don’t come with Kangaroos any more either.
That Frito's bean dip is such a massive overpay. A can of refried beans and a thing of salsa or taco seasoning gets you the same thing but for cheaper.
See, it works for me because I live with my partner and he hates refried beans, but I don't like them enough to be able to eat an entire can on my own, so they end up sitting in the fridge and becoming more and more dubious. No matter where I look I can't find a half size can of refried beans so the bean dip makes a lot more sense.
I'll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you're using here: it didn't require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could and before you even knew what you had you patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you're selling it, you want to sell it!
"Tedious" is TOTALLY how I would describe pulling the shapes off of fruit roll ups. They stretch, twist, and tear all over the place long before you're able to get them out. As a kid I just dug into the thing with my teeth rolled up like a burrito.

We share the same interest and same forms of nostalgia and excitement. Also we are not that far apart in age (I'm 27 turning 28 this year) and would have bonded over our love for Zelda games too! I don't think we had those here, but the idea brought back a super nostalgic memory of the Trix yougurt with the two flavors in one cup and now I'm here craving those and wondering if they still exist.
@@animeartist888I know exactly what your speaking of! Personally I wasn't a fan of Trix stuff but I did always see the commercials for the yogurt as well in the store! If any yogurt I had it was a gogurt tubes back when they tasted really good
If you have a UK store near you see if they have any fruit winders. They are like roll ups but are way better. They even have little comic strips on their rolls which are surprisingly dark.
My favorite is always gushers. Me and my friend were smoking bud once back in highschool. He lived on the top floor of his apartment complex, so we were up top in front his apartment and smoked two blunts. Some guy randomly opens his door, came out and gave me and my friend a pack of gushers and told us to have a good day and closed his door. Best day of my life, you get the munchies satisfied from the chewy part and the cotton mouth quenched from the liquid in it. Best snack ever

I fluffin' loved Fruit Roll Ups! Popping out the shapes and eating them one by one and then balling up the rest of the sheet into one giant gummy I could barely chew 😆😍 ahh, good times! Edit: Oh dang, but I love Cosmic Brownies (and the walnut brownies) as well! I agree, they did used to have way more of the multicoloured chocolate sprinkles, though. I used to press every single one into the brownie first so they wouldn't fall off while I was eating it 😅😆
Oml I'm not the only person who did that with the brownies. xD It was either press them down, or sometimes I'd take them off and eat them separately. I'd do the same thing with the ones with nuts too.
Omfg, I'm not the only one who pressed the chocolate bits in! I used to think they were an appropriate substitute for a proper brownie, but... I've tried them as an adult and... I guess my tastes have changed, cuz' they're a sad mockery of the beauty that is a fudge brownie now.
I’ll agree with the brownies to some extent. They’re a good go to if want one those snacks but non of your favorites are there. Personally the strawberry shortcake rolls are my jam and I still buy them constantly and eat them to this day, and I just discovered the deep fried strawberry shortcake rolls at the fair past year uhhhhh so good.
I didn't know anyone who liked Funyuns. I got them randomly when I was like 5 from a vending machine which was a RARE experience and my dad was like 🤨 "You suuuuure you want that??" And I loved them.
When I was little, I didn't like the bean dip, but I liked the cheese. My dad liked the bean dip, so he'd get me the cheese dip and the bean for himself. Damn... That was like early-mid 90's... Good memories I have with him. Gaming or watching movies and eating chips and dip.
I always preferred fruit by the foot to fruit roll ups, fruit by the foot just looked like it went on forever as a kid and my eyes have always been bigger than my stomach 😂
The cosmic brownies with the lines are (from what I've heard) objectively better than the ones without. Apparently, the ones with lines are made with honey, and that seems to make all the difference.
Dunkaroos have definitely fallen from top to garbage tier. Those have to be the saddest cookies I've ever seen. Also, did anyone else used to use a broken Funyun ring and hang a full one through it and then held them up to their ear pretending like they were ears and earrings? I think this was one of the clues my parents had that I was not heterosexual.
On the topic of your snacks looking smaller than you remember: you're not crazy for noticing this. As inflation grows, companies have to spend more money making their products. That would naturally mean that their prices on products would have to increase on the consumer's end. However, for snack companies, even a small price increase can significantly reduce sales on a product. So many companies will opt to create slightly smaller snacks for the same price, and many consumers won't notice the subtle downsize of the product
Aparently, the food you used to eat in the past was indeed actually better. Because of inflation companies have had to start using cheaper ingredients to save money and have caused the overall product to taste worse nowadays, so it isnt your imagination. They were actually better quality back then.
The golden grahams bars you find at the gas station are still big! It's just the ones in the box at the grocery store that are teeny. Also you mentioned the Ritz sandwiches are salty. I can't stress enough just how much better those things are when you drink just plain room temp water while eating 'em lol
Y'all aren't ready for this: Buy the gas station gushers packs and freeze them. In the middle of the night, grab that packet and have a few. It's life changing.
I remember having PB&J with Winn Dixie brand strawberry jam with jif. She always put a bag of chips, usually off brand cheetos, with some sort of snack cake in my lunch. One classmate told me how cool the Mario stickers were, that she put on the plastic-wrap of the sandwich. I can still remember eating a sour, glass-like cockroach we found in the playground, in exchange for a Fruitopia.
I was literally watching this as I was playing Persona 4, and it was a bizarre experience when the music started playing during the Cosmic Brownies bit, as the same song was playing in my game lol
Yeah they brought back the Dunkaroos which I had been super excited for, but they definitely changed the cookies and frosting and aren't as good anymore. Pretty sure the cookies used to be graham-esque or more shortbread and the frosting use to be thinner and tastier. The frosting they use now is pretty much just premade cake frosting you get in the baking aisle and it just doesn't work.
We had Dunkaroos in Australia, except they were distributed by Uncle Toby's. I didn't actually try them myself, so I can't say how they compare to the ones in America. I'm at least aware that they had them in chocolate. We also have Fruit Roll-Ups, which were also distributed by Uncle Toby's, but they were just called Roll-Ups and only came in fruit. And while there was only ever a handful of different options, the only ones that really stuck around were the fun prints and the rainbow ones, which were just 3 different fruits, and the more common ones ranged from tropical fruits and berry fruits. We still have the rainbow ones nowadays, but I haven't been keeping track of them enough to know what else they have still around to this day. What I do know, is that they've made them less sugary and less sticky than when I was a kid.
I remember I used to eat roll-ups and I kept on accidently eating tiny pieces of that plastic that it was rolled up in, I also remember eating the entire roll in one bite and it being really hard to chew because it kept on sticking o my teeth
@@owenday3886 This may sound crazy, but I think roll-ups are better than what they used to be. Primarily because it's not as difficult to remove them from the plastic wrap, since they're not as sticky anymore.
