i know u can eat beef raw..but the beef is not from Indonesia i think, so kept the beef for almost at least 2 week before get to his plate..i dont think that a good idea..like japan, u can eat egg raw cos they have the certificate showing that their raw egg is edible..but not for other country..same as indo, the place are hot and humid, i just dont think eating raw frozen beef are good for your health. but still depend on how u see it
Hi Guys ! Noticing all the comments that the meat is raw. I love raw meat. I eat it all the time. The less you cook the thin slices of meat, the juicer it is and thats how I like it. Now this is two weeks ago and WOOOW Im still alive. Just let me eat however i want to.
I'm pretty sure that isn't wagyu beef considering the exorbitant price. Unless you payed a crapton for this experience I doubt it's real wagyu... Aside from that the marbling looks pretty normal- not what is expected from the legendary wagyu beef.
I feel compelled to tell you that there are many types of Wagyu, much like there are many diferent types of dogs, the exorbitantly priced wagyu that we're used to seeing in foodie videos and that is usually refered to as "Kobe beef" comes from a specific type of wagyu, which is not the same as the wagyu that this guy is eating in this video. It's most likely done on purpose to make the customer think they're eating super expensive, high quality meat, for a bargain price, when they really aren't.
This comment is very old, but "Wagyu" translated to English literally just means "Japanese Cow." As someone else said, it's a marketing ploy so that people who don't know will pay more, because they automatically think it's higher quality.
"Some people say I can't eat alot of food. Look at this! 10 plates of Wagyu beef!" Yea... 10 plates of toilet paper thin beef with about 5 pieces per plate that would only stack to probably make the size of 2 mcdonalds hamburger patties.
I think Gordan Ramsey probably eats more raw beef than most people. He grew up in England and cooks French food. They eat steak tartar over there. Shabu Shabu is supposed to be just swished around in the broth and eaten immediately.
Even quickly dipping it in the hot broth will actually kill all becteria on the cut surface of the meat. Since it's also very marbled, the fat cooks the meat on the inside too. It's 100% safe. You can eat rare meat. :-)
I gotta agree with Jason here, the quality of the meat in Indonesia is not as great as the ones they prob serve in Japan. I would dip it in the broth for a bit longer than that
People leave Ben alone, he can eat his meat however rare he wants. There is nothing wrong with that because it is like eating a rare/medium rare steak. So let Ben eat however he wants.
The problem is he's missing the point of a shabu shabu lol. I mean it's okay to have it a little pink, but he dips it for a second or so. If he wants to eat it like that it's better to order carpaccio which is intended to be eaten raw, he's just paying more for nothing.
It's beef... It's one of the best kinds of beef there is. Kids like beef in overcooked hamburger patties. Adults like their beef sliced, not ground and still tender and juicy. It's no different than eating seafood sashimi.
+Joe Clark 5:48 that shit is still bleeding. rare=raw. Anything with the word RARE in it is for unevolved individuals. seafood is legit, you can it raw. WTF?! do you wake up in the morning and have a rare egg for breakfast?
It's completely fine to eat beef rare, that's even how most people eat beef, grilling or any other cooking is pretty much just to add flavor and texture not to cook the meat.
+Alex Brynhildarson well i think rare beef might have that texture but its just on your tongue. If it goes to your belly you'll get sick of ribbon worm
I would suggest you be more cautious of eating raw or rare meat, cause the animal meat can be infected. Mostly uncooked meat have tapeworm eggs, that people with our own eyes can see it. But when it comes to humans belly, it has nice enviornment to grow and grow till it starts to produce eggs. And it can end not well, and threaten your life.
+Khim Lim nope. It's cheap because the wagyu used isn't from the prime section (rib eye, sirloin, tenderloin) i own a steak house in jakarta barat and you have no idea how cheap wagyu is (if you buy from meat supplier) if it comes from the less prime area like chuck tender, chuck rib, bolar blade etc. the wagyu used in shaburi is from the less prime area
Wtf all meet is frozen unless you live right next to the goddam farm. I've worked in the food industry all my life, and everything is frozen, our job is to tell you though it is freshly delivered in the morning. It's not technically a lie because it was frozen and then delivered to us, we defrost it and prepare it to make it look good or "fresh"
I have no idea why you get so much random hate on your videos dude. keep at it and I'm sure you'll get a following of positive people who enjoys your videos. I personally can't get enough since I found your channel!
People saying it's raw are just trolling.... or dumb af. Beef is best eaten as raw as possible. The bacteria is only one the surface of the meat since it's not ground up. Just need a quick dip.
It's completely fine to eat beef rare, that's how most people eat beef, grilling or any other cooking is pretty much just to add flavor and texture, not to cook the meat. if it's good meat it's even healthier to eat it "raw" because grilling and other cooking forms HCA which can cause cancer. It's best to limit intake of red meat overall though.
For all those people who are saying that he should not eat his beef raw heres the disclaimer: YOU CAN EAT BEEF RAW. It is poultry that you have to cook fully. Thank god he didn't go eat sukiyaki or the comment section would explode for the raw egg dipping sauce.

Noticed that Wagyu brand is all over the world now, but that's nothing compared to the real deal over here. You must visit Tokyo for all you can eat Shabu Shabu :)
Yo you're also eating shabu shabu wrong ... Dont be a fake foodie you should at least invest some time in researching your foods before presenting it to your audience
To all you noobs out there commenting on the meat being raw. Meat isn't inherently dangerous to eat raw since it is sterile in itself. The danger is when you get bacteria on the meat and they can grow freely. However, if you handle the meat correctly in a sterile environment whilst butchering/cutting etc. meat doesn't go bad. All the hype about raw meat is because when you do get bacteria growth on meat, those bacterias are pretty harmful and will make you feel ill. Another danger is if the animal is sick, in that case the bacteria is in the blood and the growth would be much faster. You could get sick eating a sick animal, but that's something that is controlled before slaughter.
at the beginning the water is not high enough, also you can clearly see that meat still have blood when you picked it up,its mean they dont clean that meat properly, dont eat that kind of meat raw,dip in for 2 good minutes, unless the water is already boiling like in the last part
