The best soup dumplings and dim sum in London! Dim Sum Duck needs no introduction. Sun, wind or rain, the 2-3 hour long snaking queue down King’s Cross Road says it all. The chef has over 30 years of experience and serves handmade, fresh dumplings each day. I particularly love the prawns from here - plump, juicy and oh so delicious.
I’ve pretty much eaten through the entire menu but these are my personal favourites and must orders when you visit:
- Shanghai pork dumpling £5.90
- Prawn dumpling £5.90
- Prawn with chives dumpling £5.60
- Pork and prawn dumplings £5.60
- Salted egg yolk bun £6.10
- Glutinous rice wrap with lotus leaves £6.40
- Chicken claws in black bean sauce £6.10
- Salt and pepper squid £7.80
- Turnip cake with cured meats £5.70
- Prawn cheung fun £6.90
- Bean curd skin prawn cheung fun £7.50
- Wonton noodle soup £10.80
The restaurant only sits around 20 inside with a further 5-6 small tables in the heated area outside. If you don’t want to spend a couple hours queuing, I’d advise coming here during off-peak hours or on the weekdays! Come hungry and leave satisfied.
I have so much love for everyone here. The team are passionate, warm, hardworking, hilarious and feel like family to me. But not only that, the food is SO worth the hype!
