Honestly echo just needs to make this standard for this saw whatever $10-$20 they have to add to the sticker price is totally worth it. The construction of these saws is so Superior to other saws in a comparable price range
I agree. Rim sproket should be standard. I dont consider this just a homeowner saw. This saw has been great other than the spur sproket. I've owned this saw for 3 years and have cut a lot if wood with it.
@@woodnyardjunkie it's kind of a pro-sumer saw like the old Stihl 028/038 saws with good power and magnesium crankcase construction. Really good quality for the price
They are setting on a pair of 6202 bearings...available in SKF quality from a bearing supply really reasonable! Those are the exact bearings that the entire Husqvarna 365-372 series saw’s are built on... so your 59cc saw’s being supported by the same exact bearings that Husqvarna uses for it’s 70cc size saw’s ... I’d love to find a smoked builder!
@@DaveyBlue32 yeah echo makes really good quality saws. The only problem with them is that they don't have as good of a power to weight ratio as other comparable saws, but maybe that's unavoidable when they're able to get that much performance for the price
I bought the CS590 and had Iowa Performance Saws do a muffler mod and retune and it has more power. I also use the 3/8 .50 Stihl 2 in 1 sharpener . I really like my saw and when the time comes I’ll change mine over also. Thanks for sharing. New Subscriber
I got 2017 CS 590 back when they were $375 and I loved putting a rejeted 620 carb double spikes roller chain catcher gut the can put 3/4 ID outlet pipe and added rubber motor bushings , I don't like all the free play of springs only. Got rim sprocket and 24 bar.
You could hop that 590 up a little with a muffler mod and advance timing key. Plus a bigger 620 carb. Also they sell high performance air cleaner. Maybe it will give it a little bit more power. Yeah Really keep that left arm held tight and striaght so you dont cut your face off. Saws are dangouse for sure. I am scared of them. I respect them best I can. I even joined the gym so I could handle my saw better it did help. I even bought some shaps. (Chaps) Dang bars are long these days. LOL When I was a kid in the seventies they were mostly 14 or 16 inch bars. Now they are 20 inches a lot of the time. I even bought a 28 inch for my 620 so I could buck standing up. I might be a little bit crazy.
I use my 462 more than I did my 590, so I sold it. It was a great saw and cut a lot of wood for me. Things are getting bigger and faster these days. Gotta really pay attention to what you're doing. Have a blessed day, friend.
I agree with you on the pferd sharpener. I think it does take the rakers down to much. I started putting much less pressure on the saw and just let weight of the saw and keep the rpm’s close to the max helped me
Watch a muffler mod video and DO IT! I have one with a 24 inch bar and the muffler mod helps the engine pull that chain hard without hanging up. I file my rakers down to get a better bite too.
The MM is worth 0.5hp!! I love my cs590!! Stock is 4.08hp so with the MM saw should be around 4.6hp depending on your carburetor tune (remove limiters). Also have a rim sprocket on mine, and outside felling dawg.
@@Ki777UMiNATii bought my rim sprocket kit from lil red barn off eBay $30 and can get the outer cover dawg from a lot of places it’s for a cs600 oem echo part.
I seen a man with new saw, my saw is cutting crooked, and he was in post oak smoking cigarette and running saw with one hand and you wanna cut straight you got to hold it level.
Awesome. I did the same exact thing also with my 590. Love it. I threw away the spur sprocket 👍 also I use the 2 in 1 sharpener also. I use the .404 the 7/32 from pferd sharpener
I believe you're diggin in the wood a smidge to aggressive but I like to see the rim sprocket replacement. My cS-520 came with it and when I saw my first spur I thought it looked cheesy.
Nice video man, good info. I've been hacking away at the big Elm tree in my lone video with a cs400...I love the little guy but I could def use something bigger/more powerfull...I'm dead set on a cs590 with a 24" bar...I hope to get one before that tree starts dropping seeds next spring, wish me luck, lol.
Yeah I just used mine this weekend. It hasn't skipped a beat. I cut up a Elm myself yesterday with it...ironic. Go buy one and do the mods like a rim sprocket.. muff Mod...swap to the 24 inch bar and your good to go. Interesting video about the sprocket. FYI. The echo 490 has a spur sprocket too. I have both and definitely agree with you the spur sprocket is the way to go. Side note I subbed to your channel. I started with your video on the harbor freight bed unloader. I got one too. Have a video on using it. But I like the idea of the end wall to push the wood out so the unloader doesn’t slip out from under the wood. Hope it works. I got a delivery in the morning.
Yeah rim sprocket will take more abuse and wont break the bank when replacing it. Harbor Freight Unloader works great if you have a plastic bed liner. Probably not so great with a Spray in liner. Thank you for subscribing..much appreciated.
I've seen some on ebay. They fit over the bar studs. Probably not well made but you could use it as a template for some good heat treated steel and make your own.
All the parts from the cs 620 fit the 590. I changed the chain cover and the in and out dogs on my 590 as well as a muffler mod carb tune and a couple other 620 parts. Great saw, if i knew then what i do now i would have just got the 620....
