Here we have 2 early versions of the Ecotat Multi-use tarps/ponchos.
I believe that the one with the spray on look camouflage is the newer one, only based on the fact that it is more similar to the Wiggy's version, which is still sold today.
The one with the M81 Woodland pattern uses a different fabric, buttons close on the head and toes and has a larger tooth zipper. I think it is made from polyester. The other one may be nylon.
Both have seam tape that is delaminating/degrading.
Any information that you can share would be helpful as I cannot find a lot about them other than videos from Scotty Survival.
Below is a link, which appears to be from the 2000-10's.

Thanks for a great video. I'm glad you've got 2 different types but it's a pity that they aren't compatible to use together as a 2 man shelter. I'm very lucky I managed to find complete sets of 3 different types for my collection (all but one of which is compatible with the others)

Nice! It is difficult to even find these and/or find them at a reasonable price. It's cool that 3!

Nice seeing the two different styles next to each other. You are correct with the one on the left being the oldest from the 80's. I have two of the ecotats on the right. I have a video setting up the 3 man shelter configuration. I seamed griped mine, because the seams we're deterarating like your's. I haven't been able to try it out yet in the rain though. I'm thinking wiggy's made the original one on the left because of the larger zipper teeth. He uses that teeth pattern in a lot of his stuff. It's cool seeing other video's on these ecotats. I'm subbed🤗. Thanks for sharring.

I saw your 3 man video for the first time 2 days ago. Thanks for your videos on Ecotat and your other items! I am glad that I'm not the only crazy one purchasing surplus. Obviously, I not good at presenting and don't edit, but I just try to show typically less known items.

@@eskimomarine2252 Ya surplus has gone way up in price. Way over priced on some items, but sometimes you can find a good deal. You have some pretty nice pieces and gear of surplus. 👍💯💯💯

I like them, except they are 20 years old or more and the seam sealant is degrading. I am trying to find a way to remove it and reapply a new one.

These things were great in idea but failed in execution! Cool stuff still.

Yes, too expensive. Plus, from what I have read, they allow sand to come in, but I don't like deserts, so no problem for me. I just have strip the failed seams and reseal. It is a chore on the old one, the fabric doesn't want to release it. I might just try out Flextape over the remnants like Scotty Survival.

@@eskimomarine2252you could try a silicon sealer as well, vinegar dissolves silicon and I use it for my brushes. Just a thought between gear junkies!
