I have the Deebot N8 Pro+. The appropriate comparison here is against the Roomba J7+ as it is the newer version with obstacle avoidance as well. There was no detailed review going into vacuum time and performance on different surfaces (hardwood, low pile carpet, high pile carpet). This review is way too general.
I was about to feel terrible over buying a roomba and a braava yesterday, this review makes it seem like I wasted my money, but then I noticed this is a sponsored. I'm grateful the content creator has "this video is sponsored by ECOVACS" so I can take this review with a chunk of salt.
@@flowrider13roz It has been excellent. There have been only a couple small particles left in internal machine bin that didn't make it into the final bin. This machine has honestly been a miracle worker.
Off all the robot vac's I've had (Neato's to Samsungs), the iRobot products seem to beat the living crap out of everything. I have a gen 2 Scooba that I still use. It not only beats up the furniture, but it's a bully. It keeps on banging into it at least 2 or 3 times before going around. Using a new Shark AI 1000 series at the moment but thinking of relocating it to my 2nd floor and replacing it with a Deebot. I have one already (Deebot) but it's in the basement, only on carpet and doesn't have a self empty ability. It's about 2 years old. My only complaint is the brush seems noisy (clicking noise) that started after the first year. The tank is too small too.
My Deebot N8 Pro+ does well cleaning, but the obstacle avoidance could be a LOT better. My N8 has never avoided a charger cable since I've had it. It just gets stuck and flails around like it's having a temper tantrum
I have the roomba i7+ and, honestly it's been a disappointment. For the first 6 months it worked nearly flawlessly but after that (and some mandatory software 'upgrades' that I had no control over) it frequently gets lost, can't find its way back to its base. The other day it took two hours and 19 minutes to vacuum a 15 X 15 foot bedroom as it had to return to base once in order to recharge even though it was fully charged at the outset. I often watch it vacuum and its algorithm makes no sense at all. E.g., in a long hallway it will vacuum in the 'short' direction and make dozens of reversals instead of doing so in the 'long' direction with only 2 or 3 reversals. While in a room it frequently reverses direction before hitting a wall or room divider. Who is the idiot that programs this thing?
Ok guys.. I don’t know what it is with these reviews, but they are not testing these robots right. I have one of these (perhaps the one before this one).. And I’m telling you. Every 3rd time I start it up, it starts mapping out the house from scratch, and then you have to carry it to the docking station, and it will restore the map again. BUT, a few times it couldn’t, so we had to ready the whole house again, so it could make a new map.. Extremely annoying! Also, you can’t pick it up and place it in another room to clean there, it will complain.. We have two rooms it can’t get to because of the door step hight. And you can’t just put in into these room. It doesn’t work like that.. The robot is great in general. But sometimes the tech fails, and you will lose your map…
Classic example of cloner, copier, ip thief overcoming the original. Next thing they're gonna do is to buy the original company, to become the 'legit' company.
Say for example you are the creator of swype keyboard, then big companies like Apple and Google suddenly copied your kb without pay, compensation or royalty. You lost half the source of your income, what are you gonna do now, does not matter right?
