The new ECTO-1 is out and it is awesome. The best large scale vehicle to come from TLG since the 1989 Batmobile. Now we need to get the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future and we are set.
Well done and what a beautiful version of the ECTO-1. Also, I am in the "no rust sticker" camp. I prefer the ECTO-1 looking like she is in prime condition like a firetruck.
I think it looks good with or without the rust stickers. If none of the parts are exclusive, then i would pick up extra pieces on bricklink to place the stickers on in case you want to swap it for a rustier look.
I'm 13 years old and I built 18+ sets in the past and I've let my 7 year old brother help and he had no problems neither did I if anything it was really fun
I had scuffs and scratches on my windshield, as well on the transparent window pieces, too. I just took some Meguiars Ultimate Polish to take out those surfaces scratches or scuffs, and some warm dish soap to clean it up some more. Cleaned it right up!
As a child of the early 80s, I rather like the fact that the Afterlife ECTO-1 has the pop out seat, much like the original Kenner version that had one on the roof. An interesting coincidence.
One of my favorite things about this set is I believe that it includes 2 1980s printed slopes, (the one in the front and back with the black vertical lines)
I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Kairo Lewis I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
What a great looking set. I wasn't sure at first, but the comparison next to the other car sets (great idea!) I think has me sold! I like option 1 for display. And great shout on the rust stickers; although it's Afterlife I still think of it as the original car from the 80s rather than the car as it is now.
That's a really great looking set and it's nice that the rust stickers don't need to be applied! The scratches on the windshield are unfortunate though... I like it next to the NES, kinda like an 80's themed area
You made the correct decision to keep the rust off, I did the same and I must say it looks way better without it, I may buy a 2nd one and have that one with the rust.
in the past when Godtfred was alive, Lego used to have better packaging system. if you flip the cover on the box you can see the pieces inside separated in a plastic tray. that's why most of the pieces didn't get scratched.
@@BarryFrancis thats a good opinion, their nothing wrong with that opinion, in fact they never done a Batman Forever Batmobile, i would love to see that Batmobile become a set
@@BarryFrancis , a German company : www.bluebrixx.com/en/bluebrixxspecials/motor_vehicle?filter=parts&order=desc&limit=144 designs brick build models in the "Lego Racers scale" pdfs are free for download, use your Lego bricks to build them. A-team van, Strarsky and Hutch car, Challenger Dukes of Hazard, Blues Mobile, Elanor Mustang, Steve Mcqueen Mustang, Kitt, Macnum Ferrari, etc
You could use Braso wadding (this is in the UK, not sure if in US) to get rid of those scratches. Or any metal polish should do the trick as well as cutting compound for car paint.
I have ordered this set too. I am not very fond of the "rust decals" and I am sure that I will rebuild the car to the original car. Fitting your car next to the big Technic models seems small, but it will be an eye-catcher, as you said it suits fine with the blue Mustang. I think in a while your ECTO will be with the other Creator models. Enjoy your ride.
I think it is cool with out rust stickers. And I think option nr. 2 in display is the Best. And thank you for not put the stickers on. Becaus i realy wont to see the set with out Stickers. Keep op the good work. 😎👌
I got this set and for anybody that hasn't, KEEP THE RUST STICKERS ON!!! They look a bit cartoony yes but without them it just doesn't give off a good vibe, this ecto 1 does not feel right without rust, and once you finish the set the rust comes together and looks amazing! But that is just my opinion, do what you wish.
Good choice on leaving off those rusty stickers that’s exactly what I’m gonna do when I get my ecto. This build looks really good and I feel that the rust stickers kinda destroy it.
Option 2. I think they should make a Delorean to go with this and they could make K.I.T.T, the A-team van, and many more i would even like to have the magic school bus with the original kids as minifigs
Great review video. It looks like an amazing set. I like the clean look. I don't think I'll be getting The ECTO-1. I was one of the 6 people who didn't love the Ghost Busters movie(s).
How long did it take you to build the Lamborghini set? I’m currently in the process of building that model myself. Ecto-1 should be arriving next week pending FedEX.
From what I understand, it's almost in scale with the Hasbro Plasma Series Ghostbusters figures...the figures dont fit inside but, they look good posed along side
I LOVE THIS! The Ecto-1 is 21 feet long almost 7 feet wide. The 60's mustangs were 15 feet long and just shy of 5'6" wide. I think the Mustang may be a smidge over the scale of the Cadillac Miller-Metero Furutra Duplex.
Many lego transparent pieces come scratched. They should be individually packaged little bags. Lego should understand we pay for NEW pieces, not scratched ones.
Good call with leaving off the rust stickers. As someone else pointed out in their review, the car doesn’t look rusty in the movie.. more so dirty than rusty. Don’t think those stickers are even accurate to the movie
