Me too! I didn't know who he was when he showed up BUT man that Promo was awesome! I was rooting for him. He can talk. I hope he goes to AEW and feuds with Moxley or MJF. I have been binge-watching Eddie Kingston for the last hour. He is so believable when he talks.
Got into the NWA Power earlier this year, yeah this guy is something special. Great worker, amazing promos. Hopefully AEW picks him up and has more matchs like him vs. cody.
🙋🏿♂️ I am! Never heard of him until he fought Cody but damn he was impressive! Not a big fan of the thumb tack gimmick but other than that I think he had a solid match. Wish he would've pulled off the win though. I'm not a big fan of Cody at all
@@AdolfFauci I'm not a fan of TOO MANY thumb tack spots, but used sparingly and for good reason they can enhance a match, and I feel like they did that in this case, they showed that Cody could grind like Eddie thought he couldn't, he even said on the Unrestricted Podcast that that was the thought behind the spot
Pro wrestling may be a work, but the passion in Kingston's voice when he talks about Homicide building New York. That is as f**king real as it gets in pro wrestling in the 2020's. That man is not some fake sports entertainer. That man is as real as real gets. And that is why I have all the respect in the world for Eddie Kingston. To come from were he comes from. And to battle the demons he as battled. And to own up to it. "I'm mentally ill! And I'am not ashamed to say it". That man has balls bigger than anyone you have ever met.
Everyone talks about the suicide line, but I was shook when he wasn't even fazed by the two muscles stepping up. Just got right back to being a fuckin alpha
This is a man who has a gift with the mic, a passion for his sport, and a personal history he's willing to tap into to bring pain, intensity, and anger into every word that comes out of his mouth. Long live the Mad King.
Every word of it when eddie was rejected by the big companies back in the day he was not in a good place Omar pulled him up and turned his whole life around hes from 5he same neighborhood as my family I've heard a bunch of his stories
Eddie Kingston was one of those guys I never heard of till I saw RU-vid footage of him in the independence scene. The guy was unstoppable. Whenever he lacks in wrestling, he makes up for it with his skills on the mic and good lord he always is great on the mic, no fear, no intimidation, always tells it like it is whether people like it or not and he doesn't care.
Everything Eddie said is true . Check out Homicide’s early stuff with ROH. He was in was in there with Daniel Bryan , AJ Styles , Colt Cabana , Samoa Joe , Punk, and the list goes on. And he took all of them to school. Eddie is a master of the shoot promo . I was so happy for him when he got signed to AEW. He earned it
Kingston is the Realest Bro, right here. This Promo was Fire/Fuego, Man.. Holy S#%t !!!! This guy doesn't care who likes him or not. (Facts.) Respect to the Mad King, Eddie Kingston..
Of all the skilled people who hold a mic I think he’s the best. Like I love Paul heyman, MJF, Samoa Joe, even Enzo Amore. But E.K. Isn’t just believable there’s real raw emotion while still being concise and not sloppy. He’s also a phenomenal wrestler!
Truer words ever been spoken . Homicide is a legend in this sport and if it wasn't for him a lot of guys wouldn't be in this business because of him . Became a fan of his through watching bootleg vhs tapes from his days with JAPW and the East Coast indys to his runs in TNA and ROH . Favourite match of his is the No Rope Barbed Wire Match against Steve Corino which was a violent bloodbath . Eddie Kingston is becoming a favourite of mine was well with his street thug attitude and never say die mentality plus on the mic he's gold .
That little look the interviewer gives pope after he mentions how homocide saved him from committing suicide. It’s as if he’s saying, don’t say a word, this shit just got real
So glad he is finally getting a spotlight in a top promotion in AEW after 20 years making a name for himself in the indies! I was so happy when I saw him in Impact in that awful storyline that just a guy with his mic talent could make great, and I was also happy when I saw he was in NWA Powerrr, but I knew he deserved a top spotlight, this is a real wrestling talent that never had a great opportunity but never stopped working hard and now talent as finally been repaid! I love Eddie because he make me see that if you believe in yourself and you have real love and talent in what you do it doesn’t matter how many time did it take but you’re surely arriving on top! #eddiekingostonAEW
The wrestling business would d be a lot better if we had more people like Eddie Kingston involved. He makes you believe every single word out of his mouth.
Mad Daddy Eddie is truly raw & unique. I started getting curious about him back in the summer when him & his bestie Moxley were sparring (Mox & Eddie are wrestling soulmates, in a non-sexual way), then I looked up his indie matches history & wow. Eddie is truly raw, unique, fearless & modest. I saw his match with Claudio at Grand Slam & the crowd was so loud for him (the only other Eddie I heard people chant for was Eddie Guerrero). 20 plus years later & now he's a double champion with ROH & New Japan.
dawg Eddie is *beyond* wrestling. mad respect. Eddie went OD on the promo bc us Ny _ns_ dont play. we wear our hearts on our sleeves bc we know that nobody is going to try to stab you in wrist.
I saw him on AEW and then started searching out his other work. He's quickly becoming one of my favorites. This guy is as good on the mic as anyone. He's at the Piper level of good but just different-something for the modern era.
Eddie Kingston makes wrestling real. And I don’t mean because some a hole said wrestling is “fake” I mean he pulls you in no matter who you are. That was great!
