@@terrycrews1760 I searched several places trying to find the full video, and they all edited it out too, and even the times I found it, it didn't show his reactions immediately after
I know I'm 4 years late on this, but Eddie Murphy is hands down, the funniest stand up, the funniest comedian in general, ever. I know some people might not exactly agree to that, but I'm sure those people still have Eddie way up at the top of their list.
@@aaroniic totally. Pryor was more of an aggressive/angry kind of funny Eddie was more on the goofy side in his own way. Eddie was clearly, very much influenced by Pryor though. They both could make anything funnier just by saying FUCK . Lol not sure how they did it, but they did it well. 😁
@@righty-o3585 I wouldn’t say Pryor was always aggressive/angry. He was the most well rounded standup comedian. His comedy came from a place of pain. His real experiences both happy and sad. Eddie was an all around entertainer, which made him a comedy superstar. Richard was the king of standup and an amazing actor, Eddie is one of the greatest entertainers of all time.
Except for the scene where they had him towards the end hiding in the bathroom smoking a joint. That small part meant alot more in the whole movie than anything else. What the writers were trying to prove, that a black criminal record could never be completely rehabilitated.
Aly Julmim what do you mean. Let me guess. You think that was something racial ? If that is the case they had Nick Nolte drinking and drunk a lot. So are they portraying white men as alcoholics? There was nothing about Eddie smoking that joint that was meant to be or mean anything else.To many people lost their sense of humor .Always looking for something racist. When most of the time there is nothing racist. I think the people that see things like that in everything they watch are the real racist .With no life and no sense of humor. I actually feel sorry for those people. The spend more time looking for something that isn't there that they don't enjoy life and become people that just hate. Sad is what it is. ✌️😎
I saw trading places in a tiny little town called Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada 6 times in the theatre and laughed my ass off every single time. Seeing Jamie Lee Curtis' breasts were an added bonus. The two other movies playing in the theatre at the time was Octopussy (James Bond) and Return of the Jedi. I saw them only once each. That's how much of a classic Trading Places is to me. To this day I still enjoy movie as much as I did when I first saw it.
It's awesome Eddy was honoured ...I wished he would of given the audience some bits about his journey of how he became who he is and his influences ... I love him so much ...well deserved ...love
I absolutely love this guy. Eddy Murphy is my favorite comedian. He's such a genius! I wish I could have seen the clips too. I would have been laughing all day.
Eddie Murphy is The GOAT of comedy. All he has to do is smile really big, and I start to feel giddy!!! I know something he says will be very funny. And his facial expressions are adorable.
Eddie Murphy, the current king of comedy is hailed by the greats of film comedy. I heartily wish him every nice word that is said about him, and then some. But it would have been a gift to us who have made him what he is, that we too could have seen the clips and bits of film that are so hotly talked about. This is not Eddie's fault, not at all. He probably wanted us to see everything, because he is very fond of his fans and wishes them all the best. Few have made me laugh as much as him, and for that I am very grateful. And there is no doubt that he deserves the award, he should have received two at once.
As a kid growing up in the 80's of course I was a huge Richard Pryor fan just from listening to my mother's records while she was at work....and then came Eddie Murphy Luke a shot out of a cannon . He has and will always be my favorite comedian of all time. Honorable mentions to Dave, Patrice, Cory Holcomb, Bill Burr, Robin Williams, and the upcoming Matt Rife....that kid is special.
❤Eddie Murphy hands down occupies space far above any other Comedienne out there. He has one foot in this world and one foot in another. There is no one out there like him..could never be. He's an original who studies life and puts his spin on it. We are so lucky that we get to witness this mind at work..always entertaining and so I've heard a great guy.
The only guest on this show that knew Eddie in the 1980s was Joe Piscapo the white guy that sang Sinatra. Joe was really popular in those days too for doing a lot of characters really well. Nice to see that Eddie did not forget him.
Eddie just so Kool he's a name that goes to the top on everyone's list of best comedians... hearing he may do stand up again I'd love to get a ticket to see that I'm sure they'll sell out quick... probably have to stand in line for a chance at that ...but Eddie's golden ...god bless him !!!
One thing true about Eddie Murphy ? He is one of the top comedians of all time. I don't know who is ahead of him. If here is somebody ahead of him. He most certainly is a he funniest man I ever saw. And I was there from the very beginning. It's not a black or white thing. It's a funny thing. He deserves this award more than anyone. And a great guy as well. Thank you Eddie Murphy for decades of high quality comedy. The beat I have ever seen. ✌️😎
Thank you Eddie for the fun and humour you brought to my childhood… and to the 25+ years since. Whether it be your brilliant, hilarious Stand up or the many fun movies, you never cease to make me smile and laugh. So thoroughly deserved! I can’t imitate that smile (nobody can) but, think Beverly Hills Cop… 👌…. 👏👏👏❤

being loved by people is eddys thing, even in africa people from little children love his movies, though they dont understand the words, the acting itself puts eddies ahead of many,a comedian who does movies?and he is good too?eddie is just gifted
This guy was a huge movie star & shot Saturday Night Live into the stratosphere then 48 Hours Movie big then Beverly Hills Cop mate Eddie Murphy was the biggest star in the world early mid 1980s. I love him he was like Chappell but more popular. 🎉🏆🤣
+James Thomas Love what you're doing, any chance you could post some Kennedy Centre Honours stuff? (for an example, I cannot find anything of Al Pacino from last year)
we all know eddies one of the best entertainers of the past 40 years .. there was another legend on there as well 51:15 *sam moore* of the sam and dave duo *im a soul man* back in 60s.. and has still got it wow..must have been about 79 in 2015
@@kingofepicvlogs4666 "let him" LOL he would probably tell them to go fuck themselves.... fuck those unjustifiably overblown self important child molesting pieces of shit
Eddie, Coming To America was the first comedy film I remember watching, and it is absolutely genius. I still laugh to myself when real life resembles that film. The royal balls have been washed. Ok, maybe I’ve never experienced that. But a boy can dream.
In Kathy Griffin's book she tells the same story about that photoshoot. She says he said to her "Sometimes I wake up in my mansion and wonder whether I can get out of bed." She improved the last part where he said "I'm Eddie Fucking Murphy" as a tribute to him because she loved him so much and wanted him to get a badass ovation from the audience. I love that kind of comic to comic respect.
