Have just played it after many years. I used to bang this out on a 2k rig in a small pub room when l was D j- ing. An absolute classic and still relevant as all classics are. Gonna bang out Black skinned blue eyed boys now. Another belter from a great musician. Thanks Eddy.
Heavy lovely song!! Play it in heavy stereo speaker system & loudly & you'll feel the power...you dance to the whole song...my favorite!! Been playing since childhood - lots of love from Kenya!! ❤
Still watching Maestro Eddy Grant in April 2020, great filming crew and the post-production crew. Wow, a really beautiful, well-done video. Eddy and your whole team you were way ahead of the times. Congratulations.
My family had to leave their country because of war and this song always made me think of what life would have been if they stayed and I was born there. Great guitar rift as always, these songs will live forever in my memories god bless you Mr Grant 🙏🏽

Back in the day the bass line was thumping. In 2020 the base line is still thumping. Definately a timeless tune. 30th April 2020 in Covid-19 times, for me it's a case of "oh mama mama , you got me, working on the frontline". Stay blessed and stay safe to all.
Wish I could go back to these days ,being a dj and pelting out Eddie’s songs was a delight .. proper bass 👌 and I’d always wind my friends up because they’d never heard of the equals 👌
"Exile from the love I know" used to listen to it and thought he was singing about Africa, I just realized it's a sexual song...the song came in my head with no trigger. These two songs I loved to listen to. Good music never dies.
I remember seeing this video on Friday Night Videos when I was a little boy back in 1984 when Romancing The Stone had just came out. I thought that this video came out at the same time and I figure it would be on his 1984 album, "Going For The Broke" in which " Romancing The Stone" is on that album and is also on the 1984 Movie Soundtrack of the same exact name. Couldn't find "Living On The Front Line" Song as the second single from his "Going For The Broke" album. I figure maybe it would be one of the last singles from his 1983 album, "Killer On The Rampage." But it wasn't. So I was thinking, maybe it was a non album single. Or it was only the second single from the 1984 Movie Soundtrack, "Romancing The Stone." But When I looked up the song on the 45 cat website, and I found it, it turned up that it was from the album, "Walking On Sunshine." Released in the U.K. and other countries in 1978. And it was released in the U.S. in 1979 after I had looked it up on Wikipedia. And this song, "Living On The Front Line" from his "Walking On Sunshine" album was released in the U.S. as a single in January, 1980. I'm shocked to have just found that out because I've always thought that it had came out at the time of the release of his "Going For The Broke" album and the "Romancing The Stone" movie, or it would at least be on his "Killer On The Rampage" album. Now I know that this song is from his 1979 U.S. album, "Walking On Sunshine."
The bassline to this reminds me of when I had food poisoning . . . Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day, I can tell you!
