EddyGrantOfficial Electric Avenue still rings true lyrically to this day particularly since the banks suffered what I've heard referred to as Financial AIDS in 2008. I don't know if you've been following what's happening in Dublin Ireland over the past days but there is a building that was occupied by various Irish entertainers in an attempt to reserve it for the homeless in Dublin and has now been marked for demolition. There are also houses in different parts of the country, some of which are close to where I live in Cork, being demolished and the government are complaining about a housing crisis. Some of them are kinda old and I don't know when they were built but if they're structurally unsound then I can justify their demolition. However, what I find to be batshit crazy is, in the light of the housing crisis, how they can just say for example that because of a reputation an area has they can get rid of unoccupied buildings instead of providing those without a roof over their head, unless they go to shelters, with decent accommodation. Some of these people are single mothers. This has been an issue since the recession hit and I think it's kinda nuts that they're getting rid of houses and apartments, even though some have been vandalised, burned out or demolished, which could be modernised to fit requirements. It may seem a bit lame of me saying these things cuz there is a lot worse going on in other parts of the world but it's a matter of time before Irish protests against things like austerity and water charges turn into the shitstorm that happened in London in 2011 but I kinda feel some of what's happened in the years gone past has been documented in some ways in Electric Avenue. I also wanted to say that Killer On The Rampage is a favourite of mine :)
