There is nothing wrong with any preferred edge test in my book. The point for any straight shaving adventurer is that running through a honing procedure or progression without some sort of evaluation can be frustrating. While some people can get HHT success of a 1K step and are even able to have a number of calibrated scores within a HHT, I never found much hair around here consistent enough to rely on. Waiting for a shave test was always way too late for me. And, if on that fateful day I had not been honing razors that came in that particular media when I was out of tomatoes, maybe nobody would ever be using such a foolish evaluation. 😀 Nice work.
