Hi There! I would like to use this video to clarify a mistake I made while recording previous demos starring Edifier S3000PRO. Like some of you suggested in the comments below those videos, the DSP mode that was used during recording was not the flattets Monitor mode but the Classic mode that boosts the treble audibly. I want to apologise to anyone confused by my mistake and give kudos to those who heard my mistake and tried to point it out to me. I will post few new comparisons starring S3000PRO, this time in true Monitor mode soon. Cheers
@@HPMIKE55 S3000Pro goes down to low 30s Hz so for the most part it is good enough. Adding sub is possible but problematic so if you want to add subwoofer to the system than AirPulse A100 would be better choice
I bought a pair after this video. That was about a month ago and they’re still bedding in. So far though, I’m really impressed, for the money they’re the best thing out there imo. My previous speakers were Audioengine A5’s.......these knock those out of the park, put them on a bus with a sandwich never to be seen again
I have these speakers. My first ever active speakers (apart from crappy plastic PC speakers) & I love em. I rarely take them off Dynamic mode. I rarely use the Bluetooth as when I do I sometimes get a large popping sound. I feed them via a 20mtr optical cable from my Mac which goes 2 thirds of the way around my room or via coax from my Marants CD17 sig which sits between them. Oh & did I say I LOVE EM! 👍
Dynamic is by far the best and propels this speaker from great to amazing. No other speaker can compete with that unless using an advanced DSP and got lucky tuning it. It's got a great drivers. Planar ribbon tweeter allows fine details and great response. Then the woofer has extremely low excursion. Crossovers handled by DSP to rid of some noise. Add in fine DSP tuning to make the speakers respond even more to the dynamic of the music 🎶 and suddenly nothing else compares.
Swan M300 competes with these and probably even better. But you're right, these are amazing. Edifier and Swan are my favorite by far. The Chinese know how to design and build amazing speakers.
@@Gamer-sq8vc there's Swan m500 now. Blows m300 out of the water. M300 doesn't have a ribbon tweeter like the S3000pro, but m500 does, plus a midrange speaker (which is S3000pros weak point). Plus I dare say m500s bass is better. Its just so expensive to import.
Thanks for this, convinced me - mine arrived today … WOW !! Makes me smile when I put them on and they pack a serious punch. Dynamic mode everytime, I am sure I have surround sound on - Soundstage and separation is superb and bass is more than enough !! Just wish the wife loved them as much 🤣🤣🤣
What modes comes by default when you turn on the speakers??? Dynamic or Classic. Do we have to change modes every time after turning the power on. Please reply.
@@lewisowens1884 Some people are saying Classic is the default mode. Anyways its better to just use an equalizer on PC. No need to keep changing presets. 👍
Some people are currently complaining the they can't hear any differance between the Modes. It's for last year and this years production. Can any confirm this????????????? I can definitely hear it the difference in your great Videos!!!!!
Good job. Some say that between presets do not hear the difference, or it is insignificant. But I can hear these differences even through headphones. Make a comparison between S3000pro-monitor and AirPulse A300. Good luck.
Hi guys, U got the best idea about HiFi testing on planet ! Speaking about sound is to subjective and pointless. If I may suggest something, please change presentation order: 1. Original track 2. First set. 3. Original track. 4. Second set. 5. First set. I think it would be the best way to hear the difference between original tracks and both sets. Keep up the good work and switch on the support channel option !
classic mode sounds perfect...vocal mode in second place...dynamic sounds too bright and monitor too flat. to my taste of couse. thanks very much for the video.
That's pretty much my take as well with the only exception being that I go back and forth on the classic and vocal modes based on the source material. Based on the various comments it further proves that speaker preference is subjective as hell.
I agree with the Classic mode being the go-to setting for most music, but on some types of tracks, other modes sounded better to me. Dynamic is mostly unlistenable, but even that has its niche: on "Deep," I actually preferred it. I didn't like Voice on any of the tracks, and Monitor works well as middle ground with pretty much everything. Now, I'll bet if you were to turn up the bass level a tad on the Classic setting, it would be just perfect.
I have already purchased THREE bookshelf pairs from Edifier because of your reviews. Looks like this is going to be the fourth one! Thanks as always for the quality content. On a side note, there is a huge market for Bluetooth speakers and I was wondering if you plan on venturing into the world of portable speakers. There's quite a number of them that produce quality sound.
@@miguelmanuel9618 S2000 Pro, R1280DB, S880DB. I have the S2000 in my living room and it works like a charm. The 1280 I've relocated to a smaller room for multimedia consumption, and the 880 I have on my office desk. 880 gets the most use at the moment and it's sounding better every day!
Good afternoon, tell me please, for home use, for a computer, music + cinema, quality + price for $ 600 at the moment, are there any obvious competitors for s3000pro who bypass them in sound quality in this price category? Or what price threshold in dollars do you need to break through to buy a speaker system for your home that will be noticeably better than this? Or if you drop another $ 100 from above, you can buy something else?
Dear Stereophony, Would you consider adding quiescent power consumption to your measured data? At idle my lsr305 consume ~8.8w for the pair. With class AB amps/inefficient EI-transformers still being mainstream in the "studio monitor" market I suspect some of the competitors may consume tens of watts while quiescent. To me this would make them a lot less attractive compared to the 305's, even if they subjectivelly sounded better.
Czy zauważyłeś zniekształcenia w głośniku basowym przy większej głośności? Ponoć ludzie mają z tym problem. Czy przy większych basach i głośności nie hałasują bass reflexy? Ponoć powietrze mocno przez nie furczy bo są źle zaprojektowane. Pozdrawiam.
hey there. i've been searching for an answear for 2 months now..so i'm gonna ask the question here. is there an advantage for using an external dac with these? advantage in SQ, soundstage, instrument separation etc, or the dsp in these will autocorrect and there will be no benefit? can the DSP be bypassed on any of the analog inputs? thank you alot!!
Received presonus eris e8 xt monitors and compared with my edifier s3000pro. Objective was to compare sheer music listening pleasure (I am NOT into mixing or audio engineering) .. Eris are extraordinary.. I think All STUDIO MONITORS (be it from any company - Yamaha, JBL, Presonus, Adam, KRK, etc) are DEFINITELY BETTER for MUSIC LISTENING (not sure about mixing/mastering) than so called active non-studio speakers (no comments about passive hifi systems as I never used them)..
thanx for coming back to these speakers. last time you said you turned down the treble quite a bit. do you still adjust it on monitor mode or leave it standard for music listening?

These youtube comparisons are confusing, I prefer the opinions of people like you that tested and compared the speakers. 6 months ago I buy the r2000db for my kitchen-little living room, and thank you too for recommend these (in a range of 200-300€ are very good I think) and Im very happy with them, and now for my another and more big living room I Will buy the s3000 pro, and hope I will feel a big upgrade! xd
Oczywiście tryb Monitor najlepszy, najrówniejszy, ale tryb Vocal tez jest akceptowalny, takie rozsądne jeszcze optimum w koloryzacji dzwięku, moze sie podobać jeszcze. Tryb Dynamic to juz przesadzone mocno.
Still not sure if i should get the S3000 or KEF LSX, they're both active. In my country about the same price range... sadly can't test them irl. Planning to hook them to my TV and use them for listening as well, stuff like Nighwish.
@@DSAUDIOreview Thank you for your recommendation. Also i have Marantz PM6006 and pair of Q Acoustics 2020i that i got from my grandpa, but good quality sub would cost about the same as the S3000 Pro so... the S3000 might be still better i guess.
@@Hito343 I bought the S3000 pro just recently and I absolutely love them top to bottom. This after downsizing from JBL 580 towers and dual 10inch subs. These edifiers flat out rock.
VOCAL is best like in s2000pro. Question please i need your help. I took the decision to buy Airpulse A100. Do i need to buy for it an external hi-res USB DAC or connected it with its USB and using its internal DAC is enough? Also, does the A100 has any resonance, vibrations at low frequencies? And it is better than A300 in terms of clean bass? Thanks for your help, i live in a country where I can’t return it, this is why i need your help, I cannot test it before buying it.
A100 has clean and thight bass, no problems here, but A300 obviously reaches deeper. A100 is good down to 50Hz while A300 goes down to low 30s. As for the DAC, you are good with what you have on board of A100, which one is better is up to your preference and setup though

Купил себе R2850db как только их выпустили в продажу, пол года назад где-то + - , послушав их немного разочаровался, для кино хороши, для музики нет, для долгой музыки темболие и на тихой громкости особенно, нераздумывая вернул их назад и заказал S2000MKIII это младший брат s3000pro за более скромную цену и поменьше размером, очень понравились, при прослушивании музыки был эффект ВАУУУУУ, ебать, вот это звук, вот это агрессия и напор, детальность вч просто космос, это просто нельзя услышать через ютуб, он не в состоянии передать это, и прослушивать нужно на динамиках не хуже классом что бы это услышать. Их я сдал тоже, не потому, что они плохие, просто заходел услышать разницу с ленточным твитером, думал там эффекс будет такой же большой как от купольников к планарам, из самых не дорогих, что я нашел это аирпульсы а80 с ленточниками, сдал свои s2000mk3 и купил а80, разочаровался, сами по себе, для их размера это бомба, но по сравнению с s2000 не то, хотя они и дороже куда чем s2000 , калибр басовика сильно сказывается .... я та же ощутил после R2850DB что у S2000 нет такой глубины и объёма, просто там 4 дюйма мид динамик и 8 дюймов бас динамик, против 5,5 дюймов одного .... но детальность и чёткость просто на голову выше, они могут играть очень тихо и очень качественно, их можно слушать целый день и не будет гудеть голова, а вот большие трёх-полоски тихо не послушаешь, не играют, нужно наваливать мощности, что бы просто заставить работать здоровый бас динамик. Вообщем a80 я тоже сдал, и решил подкопить и попробовать эти s3000 =)) Не знаю когда, но когда нибудь я их точно куплю =) Если нет денег на них то s2000MKIII будет отличный выбор, они вышли после s3000pro, это их самая последняя модель так сказать, они сделали её чуть компактнее чем s3000 но при этом удешевили её почти в 2 раза вытащив от туда кучу не нужных для простого пользователя и очень дорогих компонентов, для меня минут только то, что не хватает глубины и объёма для кино, всё таки r2850 дают о себе знать, если s3000 особо не будет выделятся на их фоне то смысла переплачивать нет.

Музыка заебывает, у 2850 ширина сцены огого какая, ыильмы звучат, у меня они на стойках по бокам стола между колонками 2 метра, они повернуту на центр комнаты, а не на стол, и даже так сцена четко по центру будто у меня звук с монитора идет, бас хороший, от боковых стен до колонок 90см. Единственное , не могу я получить 40 герц, не выходит, да и чтоб это ебаный лопух 8 дюймовый раскачать нужно так вьебать звук, что средних и высоких дохуища стает!!! Это их минус большой, чувствительность нч очень слабая, нужно большую громкость давать((( Но у меня комната 19 и они справляются с шириной и количеством звука, перед колонками в радиусе 2-3 метра звука дохера, 2750 такое не могут.. Но от 2850 нижний бас 40 герц не могу получить. Если придвину ближе к углу, ууглы начинают гудеть( Я бы не взял после 2850 , с2000 или 3000 ,,, ширина сцены пропадет, а я от нее кайфую, будто у меня небольшие напольники стоят.да и 5.5 нч - это смешно) я не признаю маленькие колонки и динамики
@@back_to_life0 r2850 это колонки не ближнего поля как все говорят, слушать их сидя у компа это дела непутёвое, нет звука. нужно в метрах 2-3 от них сидеть, это короче как ахуенный грузовик, большой и сильный, а s2000 это машина для комфорта и удобства, услышал бы ты в них какой нибудь металл, гитарные рифы...разница небо и земля, я просто слушаю в основном рок и метал. где много бассов не моё жанр. тут каждому своё.

@@back_to_life0 Да в данный момент у меня стоят микролабы за 4к руб =) может пока скоплю на s3000 то выйдет уже новая модель я хз) у меня так получилось с r2850 я долго выбирал и выбрал r2800 и так тянул что вышла новая модель )) Так то если для кина и т.д то s3000 тоже не даст такой глубины, вопрос тупо решается размером НЧ динамика посути, но зато его качество будет на другом уровне, за верхние частоты вообще и говорить не стоит, я просто в 95% времени слушаю музыку когда играю, а киношки смотрю не так часто, поэтому качество ставлю на 1 место, и что бы их можно было слушать на тихой громкости тоже.
