I can't get my Hedra connected for the life of me. Can you help me out with what I'm doing wrong? I've got the Roland USB Midi UM-ONE with the IN connected to Midi in on the Disaster Area Designs Midi Box 4. The Midi OUT on the Roland UM-ONE is connected into the Midi Box 4 "Midi Thru" as there is no out option on the box. I've gone into the Meris settings to enable Midi, have tried multiple different channels and have set it to Midi Thru as well as Midi Out and I'm still getting nowhere. The switches on the Disaster Area are set for Meris and I'm using a TRS cable. Do you have any advice at all on what may be the issue? I'm really excited to use this software to dial stuff in!
One other thing I'm noticing is On the Select Midi Ports portion, MIDI Input shows UM-ONE 0 and MIDI Output shows UM-ONE 1. I'm pretty sure in watching your examples, both said UM-ONE 1.
Hi Elliot, when I press connect HedraEdit just disappears. I am using Roland UM-ONE that works fine with my Timeline. The screen shows UM-One in the Midi in and Midi out. I am using channel 5. I have the Meris set up midi, midi out and channel 5. It works with TouchOSC on my iPad ok . I am using Mac mini Mojave 10.14.5, I am using the USB Belkin Hub the same I am using the Timeline into the USB3 ports. I have also tried on my MacBook Pro with High Sierra and same happens into usb 2 port. Obviously the UM-One has light lit and obviously it is connected. Given TouchOSC works with the iPad using a Yamaha BT-01 I just wondered what I can do, There is no log I can find by using Terminal you suggested to Daphe Duffy
I use the Meris MIDI I/O and Roland UM-One, I have a number of users that have the Disaster Area qConnect or other Disaster Area products that have a bi-directional multi-jack. The benefit of the Meris MIDI I/O is there is nothing to configure, and it lets you connect 4 pedals.
@@gi1917 Are you opengl graphics drivers up to date? This app uses OGL. There is a log file located at C:\Users\'your user name'\.kivy\logs you can post the newest file here, I can see if it indicates a problem
I have an seperate app for the Enzo. It has some great features for auto generating patches. github.com/ElliotGarbus/Enzo-Editor-and-Librarian I'm currently working on an update for the Enzo...
Hi there!!! I'm running on Yosemite 10.10.2 and had no problem running the Enzo Editor/Librarian... and freaking LOVE IT MAN!! I decided then to get the Hedra for what the pedal does but also because of the way you can get under the hood with your software man! But somehow I haven't been able to run none of the versions of the Hedra E/L. The file downloads and unzips properly, but when I click on the app's icon nothing happens. Do you have any idea what the issue might be?!? CHEERS!!
I don't know if this is an issue with Yosemite, but try the following: unzip the app in the download directory. right-click the app and select open on the pop-up menu. A dialog box will open asking if you are sure you want to open the app, click on open. The app should open and run. If it did, now drag the file into the app directory.
Hey Elliot! Thanx for your prompt reply. That's exactly what happens, but after I click on 'Open' on the dialog box the app's icon blinks but doesn't open. If I try again the dialog box doesn't appear again but I can't get the app to run. :-(
@@alexotaola I'm sorry to hear it is not running. Unfortunately, backward comparability is not the Mac's strong suit. I've done a few web searches, and these kinds of problems are not uncommon. I downloaded the app from the github site, and installed and ran it. The app is working on Mojave.
@@ElliotGarbus Last fact: once unzipped the EnzEdit has 107.8 mb while the HedraEdit is only 36.3 Can this ring a bell on why the app icon blinks but the app doesn't open? THNX!!
Hello, I've downloaded the application several times now, but every time I hit connect the Hedra Editor app crashes and closes. I am running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5, so I don't think there are any issues in that regard. Can you help me out?
@@dahneduffy6829 Have you successfully used the UM-One with other software and devices? The driver installation is a little fussy. And you must connect things up correctly in the audio midi setup.
@@ElliotGarbus Yes, I've used it to with a web editor for the Mercury 7. No issues there. The UM-One is definitely working fine. The Hedra Editor itself seems to crash every time I hit connect though, and the scan button doesn't work. If I want the Editor to recognize the Hedra/Um-One I need to open the Editor, close it, then open it again.
@@dahneduffy6829 When you open the editor, with the UM-One connected to the mac, do you see the UM-One in the drop downs? Are you using a TRS cable to connect the Hedra to the Midi I/O?
