I mean of course why wouldn't Syndrome go after Edna to make his super suit? He probably wouldn't have gone as a super if she kept her role in his life secret but she would know. He was rich enough he might could have 'convinced' her and she would design a failsafe in the form of a cape. My mind has been blown.

Also if you think about it with Greek mythology, Echidna is the mother of monsters Edna could be a shortened name based on Echidna and that would bely a sinister nature for the supers as well

Edna, the gods maker I love this hidden geniuses in series like Bulma from DBZ/DBS, where zeno the gods of gods can rewind time a few seconds and she in one or two years makes many time machines being the strongest, smartest and most atractive being of the franchize.

There’s a lot of assumption pivoting on the idea that Edna is the only creator of Super’s costumes. That Helen KNEW the only person Bob would trust to repair his suit was Edna almost flagrantly confirms that there are others who could do the job. As a pioneer and expert in the field, OF COURSE Edna would be aware that Supers died from capes, regardless of who designed them, but Supers who died from caped costumes were not implicitly wearing her designs.

Noooooo, I wanted to hear more about Baby Smitty! That video was possibly the most insane piece of art I have ever seen and your ability to untangle bizarre incident after bizarre incident without completely losing it is admirable.

I just fell down a deep dark rabbit hole of insanity consisting of the Theorizer videos due to this video. It is so interesting to see a man fall into insanity and out the other side. It went from robot, to innocent, to madness, to beyond. You don't realize how much theorizing this is built upon until you've been watching for HOURS on max speed.

Ngl, as someone who thinks your theories are usually pretty damn out there (though still very entertaining) I 100% believe this. Idk if the authors had quite as much detail in their minds, but it clicks too well that she was one of the scientists from the axis powers who switched sides to the Allies during ww2. Whether or not she was THE person who made the Supers, a bit of a different question, but I'd be pretty surprised if she wasn't heavily involved in their creation. Also, I thought it was already kinda cannon that the Supers were made by the government in some way, but idk for sure.

I love how theories can cover vast areas of lore, worldbuilding and history so far outside the actual plot of the movie itself, just through little details shown in it. Or even outside information, such as Brad Bird's comments about Edna.

Edna stated that she stopped making capes on hero's suits after one passed away by one. She could not have made syndrome's suit if that is true. The only other explanation of if she made his suit is if he "modified" Edna's suit she created for him.

You can make it darker if you take into account all the Germans Western countries, especially the US, took and the powers they held. Adolf Heusinger was the Operations Chief of the High command in Nazi Germany. His career not only did it not stop after the war, he continued to server as the head of the military cartography office when the war ended , a general for West Germany and the most important of all, became a Chairman of the NATO military Committee from 1961 to 1964. General Hans Speidel became Commander in Chief of Allied Forces Central Europe. There are several other military members that took such high positions after the war in NATO and Europe. And of course as you said there was operation Paperclip which was not as you said, an operation by German Scientists who resisted the Nazis. Some of them were former members and leaders of the Nazi Party. And they weren't that sorry for their participation. Fortunately for them, they had the skills to build weapons. Given that Edna was supposed to be that German scientist, it could mean that she indeed has some interesting past. In the early '70s, New York Rep. Elizabeth Holtzman received a confidential tip that American immigration authorities knew of dozens of former Nazis and it was proven true. So Edna could very well not have come to the US to help those less fortunate, but rather to help the American government and military. That is why she's working with Superheroes (Ubermensch). And if she's had a part in their making? Changing their DNA (Eugenics) to create the superior beings that she called "like Gods". German-Japanese scientist with ties to Milano in the US screams former Nazi.
