I must say that I am really impressed with how well the decals laid down. And I give the cockpit A 10/10.

As always, your quality finish is museum quality and one I continue to strive for. Spitfire is one of my favorite aircraft along with Mosquito. I have purchased several of the limited addition kits by Eduards and they are in my new kit hanger until the skill set improves. In the interim I have my stash, paint mules and currently working on those 1/72 Airfix Spitfires kits, At 6 bucks a kit I can't really go wrong. I do like the cockpit door down on this, knowing Eduards I suspect it's made that way. Your display case is awesome Cheers till the next one.

Thanks for the kind words! For years, I kept my "nice" kits for later until my skills improved. When building this one, I knew that I was the weak link. In the end, I'm happy with the results. Cheers!

Good afternoon my friend. Great kit. Eduard is at the state of the art when it comes to kits. I assembled a Mk Ia. The fittings are great. Little rework. Congratulations on the work.

Hello Jon, I couldn't comment before, very good video, excellent result of the spitfire, there is nothing in it that I can say against it hahahaha. My experience in building spitfires is reduced to some old Airfix molds in 1:72, Academy 1:72, then when I returned to the hobby, I found the ICM kits of which I have built several, at first impression I liked the cockpit and elnquw came with an engine and weapons bays, when assembling them I could only collect engines hahahaha, my best experience with Spitfire is an Airfix in 1:48 Mk V, I enjoyed that model and I had absolutely no problems, plus it was a kit vs. I had a BF 109 E, it was very cheap today that kit is double the value I bought it for, the decals are very good. I have in my stash waiting its turn an Academy mkIV in 1:48, I must say sober, a Tamiya Mk I, which has impressed me in its assembly concept and details and a Hobbyboss mk Vb in 1:32 that also caught my attention. Attention, I have not checked to see if there are wrong parts. panels or oversized. I would like to put together the Eduard kit even if it is the weekend set. Regarding the latter, did you do the process of removing the skin from the decals after having glued them and letting them rest? If you didn't do it, how long did it take and how difficult was it to do it? Greetings and until the next video.

Thanks, Francisco! The decals on this Eduard kit are not the new style that you described. They are the conventional decals from a few years ago. The Eduard weekend Spitfires are great, too. I've built the Revell/ICM Spitfire and was able to get a good result, but it was a lot of work. I have a 1/48 Spitfire playlist on the channel if you want to check that out. Cheers!

Beautiful Spit! I have number of Weekend edition Eduards in the stash (I'm too cheap to buy the ProfiPacks, lol) and a Mk. IX is one. Seeing your cockpit, I may have to spring for the sold-separately PE fret as it really makes the "office" pop.

Thank you! The PE fret is a good upgrade, and I like to at least have seatbelts. Cheers!

That’s a rave review indeed! I never built an Eduard kit so far but I’m getting tempted. So far my best kit is the Tamiya BF109 G.

Great video Jon. Haven’t built many Eduard kits but I would agree with you about the over engineering of smaller parts. They do go together nicely and always love their detail especially the profi kits. They can be a little time consuming for novice but they are sweet. But I do love my MK1 from Tamiya (the latest version).

I just purchased Tamiya's re-released the Mk1 which includes their 1/48 10HP "Tilly" RAF Airfield van. And the kit comes with PE and Masks. Looks great@@jonsmodelkitreview4624

Good morning from OHIO 😊 How many models / versions of the SPITFIRE did they develop/ produce during WW2 ??????????? Never built a EDUARD KIT… I know you’ve built and reviewed a few… Sounds like this kit was a challenge, more so to all the options available… I think you’re very professional and talented in your hobby… Your reviews are very helpful to any modeler… You opened my eyes to RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT… I think you’re going to need an another display case, or a BIGGER ONE… Thanks for your hard work and sharing your thoughts and reviews… I’ll keep watching, as long as you want to keep doing this… 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 🤓 CHRIS 🇺🇸 “ and, MODEL ON “

About 30 models should give you a good coverage of Spitfires and Seafires! If you add in tropical filter versions and smaller anomalies the tally will be more like 50. Then you have interesting marking options for the different theatres and many, many nations that used them. Probably a life's work!

I agree with Phil. The modeling just Spitfires could provide a lifetime of enjoyment. It's a fun rabbit hole to go down. So many options! I do have other display cases 😉 that are filled. I appreciate the kind words, Chris! Cheers!

Were these the newer style decals by Eduard? The type that you peel the carrier film off after setting them on the model? I’ve heard mixed reviews about them. Your review was great as always!

In my knowledge, the "new style" decals (also said "wet transfers", but this is NOT officially declared by the brand) by Eduard are since june 20th 2020. Look at the base of the decal sheet, where the date is stated.

@giovannimusacchi2949 Thanks, Giovanni! This kit predates the new decals. I didn't know when the new style started. Cheers!

@@jonsmodelkitreview4624 The (so called) "wet transfers" by Eduard started more or less at the time of their Spitfire Mk I/Ia in 1/48 scale.

Right on, Carlos! I haven't built the Eduard Bf110. If it's anything like their Bf109E or Fw190A of the same time, it would be a very complicated build. Cheers!

Edward makes amazingly detailed kits but has way too many pieces, for example Eduard give 3-4 pieces for the spitfire seat when other companies usually give it in one...🤔

I don't disagree and state that criticism in the review. The end results are hard to argue with, though. Cheers!
