Great video Brodie, I'm here literally everyday checking your channel to see the latest news watching all your videos! If the A's weren't able to get a stadium going in Oakland for almost 20 years, I don't know how the hell they think they can slap something together in the next few months in Vegas?? And about the temporary stadium issue, I honestly don't know how that would work sharing the LVBP; There's no way you can have these players out in that heat several times a week, that's so dangerous, and I don't think fans would go out and sit in the heat either. If this happens, and they move to Vegas, I think their best interim solution for a temporary home is the Oakland Coliseum. I have a few questions for you and am wondering your thoughts Brodie- -What do you think are the essential things that should be in the A's new stadium, like food concession, pro shops for team merchandise, and also a museum portion? At Citi Field, the Mets have a really awesome historical museum of all their baseball artifacts since their beginning in 62, it's really cool. (I'm a huge Mets fan as well) I would love to see the A's have that in their new stadium, but on a 9 acre site, would they be able to fit all this in their new ballpark? How much stuff in the entry way and in the walking concourses do you think they could fit into it? - What are your preferences on stadium's, do you like covered or outdoor stadiums better, and what are the positives and negatives of each kind? I personally like outdoor stadiums the best for baseball. -What things if any, do you think would change with the A's if they go to Las Vegas? I know that they will keep their name, and I really really hope they keep the 'green and gold'. If they changed the colors of the team, that would be absolutely horrible. I love the uniforms they wear right now, and I hope they wouldn't mess with that in a new city. I hope they keep the classic "A's" logo as well, that would be crazy if they changed that. -Last question, and this is a hypothetical one, if the A's can't get a ballpark deal in Las Vegas, what are their next options? I'm just curious what you think would be some possibilities they would do as a next move? Thanks again Brodie, and I'm really happy to see you making content about other sports teams as well, like the Rays and Coyotes, I think that will really help your channel grow faster; Reaching an even bigger audience! I hope you get 100k subs by the end of this year! :D

Tourists from Pittsburgh, Saint Louis, etc… will come to Vegas for those games, but maybe only go to 1 or 2 of a 3-game stand and otherwise make a more typical “Vegas style” vacation. That’s what we see with the Raiders and the Knights. And do NOT exclude the fact that Vegas locals are ABSOLUTE sports nuts. Local, major league sports have become the glue of our community, and the A’s will be embraced by locals in the same way. The local chatter is already buzzing, and since you don’t live here, you’re just not able to pick up on that. And there’s definitely enough local love for both the A’s and the Aviators.

Like the current debt ceiling talks in Washington, I think the deal in Vegas gets done last minute. A's will submit their proposal on or before the May deadline, it will be considered by the Legislature during the current session, changes to the proposal will be made, the A's will agree to those changes, and a bill will pass and get signed by the Governor.

As always Brodie thanks for the information. I think ownership needs to change. I just don't see Vegas embracing the A's as much as if they got a brand new expansion team. I think that with a more thought-out plan with more time that Vegas is a market that can support baseball. Just with all the work and money for Howard Terminal I think that is the site for the A's

As a local and someone interested in them coming...This plan is not "local" friendly at all. We do not like going to the Strip unless its for work or a special occasion. Think of your congested downtown areas in your large city centers - traffic, etc. T-Mobile, Allegiant are fairly local friendly with freeway to side street access points. The Trop & LV Blvd. intersection has always been a nightmare - this will just compound this further. They're wise to scale it to a 30k size stadium to be honest. 6 currently exist in the MLB in the 30k range, 20 in the 40k range.

The Oakland Athletics are negotiating with Clark County to bridge a $75 million gap in public financing for a proposed $1.5 billion Las Vegas ballpark. As the A’s and lawmakers try to finalize draft language for a bill that would dedicate tax funding for stadium construction, state and county officials have committed to $320 million of the Major League Baseball team’s $395 million request, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told the Las Vegas Review-Journal

Even though I think the Wild Wild West site made far more sense, especially for locals, perhaps the A's are thinking the advantage of the Trop site is it's an easy walk from the Strip to the ballpark for tourists who decide to catch a game last minute and those out of state visiting to see the games live. No need to walk off the Strip. No need to cross the 15.

if the A's win they will sell out. Golden knights win, they sell out most nights, so I can for sure see them sell good in Vegas. By the way I live in Vegas, and do uber full time. The nights, Aces, and Raiders damn near sell out every game. Hockey plays just about the same amount of games, they are doing well filling around 22k. Baseball is way more popular than hockey.

Ironically, I believe the worst regular season record for a MLB team since 1900 was the PHILADELPHIA A's back in 1916 at .235 (36-117). The OAKLAND A's currently sit at .222 (10-35). This is the most interesting thing about the A's this season IMO.

When a relationship breaks up due to one leaving. The one left behind sometimes try’s to hold on. When they discover that their holding on to nothing. They become bitter, delusional thoughts become common place. If the city of Oakland didn’t drag this thing on for so long. Perhaps we would have closed the deal already. The A’s became tired of waiting. When nothing is in writing, both parties have the right to change their mind. The A’s simply exercised their right to move on. In the meantime try and be positive. We have a great local government, a clean city with very little crime. Wait, I said think positive not delusional!

The culinary union resisted the Wild Wild West site because some of Station Casinos properties aren't unionized. My main residence is in California, and I have been an Oakland A's fan my entire life. But with my current lifestyle, the warmer weather in Vegas, and simplicity for me to get around the Strip (compared to dealing with heavy traffic on I-880 getting to Oakland), I really do hope the team moves to Vegas. No matter how congested things might get around the Tropicana site, locals know how to park slightly farther away and efficiently move to wherever they want to go to. If the A's play well and are successful, I will be ecstatic, even if ticket prices are high. But during years when they aren't very good, I will be happy to go to less expensive games versus the Reds or Pirates during midweek because there are so many other things to do on more expensive weekends (or on game days versus very popular teams that make getting a good ticket difficult).

I'm gonna guess the stadium will be on southeast facing norrhwest, and Tropicana only get PARTIALLY demolished, only at the part where the stadium will be... So all you can see is just Tropicana Hotel main building... Hope Nevada rejects it so Fisher doesn't have a choice but to sell, although it might cost them expansion spot too, because even thought the owners want a team in Vegas, MLB might retaliate because of them "not ready dor baseball" because of this A's saga... Which is fair for me, MLB should be the LAST of the 5 Major Leagues to even consider having a team in Vegas, them having 81 home games is one of the reason... On the other hand, I still doesn't see Oakland is it either, might as well relocate to SLC or Sacramento, maybe even SA or Austin too... Nashville gonna use the name "Stars" and Montreal gonna return the "Expos" back so those two are out... 🤔🤔🤔

Hey Brodie, I don’t think Fisher wants to own the A’s but he’s in such financial trouble I think think he’s trying to get the most out of his asset by driving up the price in Oakland, OR, I wonder if he makes more money by selling the team in Nevada? California is not a tax friendly state.
@rainbowmade1880
@rainbowmade1880 Год назад
When the stadium goes over budget, who will pay? Think the A’s will step up? I seriously doubt it. It will be a substandard stadium on a shoe string to ensure it doesn’t go over budget. The whole thing is being fast tracked to gloss over these MINOR details… Nevada will pay the difference for sure.

The 30% tourist target seems to be far more realistic for that site than the 70% local target. That's 21,000 people based on a 30,000 seat sell out. As a resident of Las Vegas, thinking you'll get 21,000 locals to go to the strip more than once a week with a ticket price higher than the actual quality entertainment up and down the strip is an absolute JOKE. With MLB you're talking about a sport that plays every other day for six months. It gets hot in Las Vegas, but it's hyperbole to suggest there are more than a few days that reach 120+ degrees in any given year. It's also a different kind of heat than anyone outside of Las Vegas or Phoenix even understands. 110 degrees in Las Vegas at 10-15% humidity is far more tolerable than 85-90 degrees in Atlanta (for example) at 70-90% humidity. Summerlin is ABSOLUTELY an easier destination for locals than the corner of Tropicana and LV Blvd.

If we give them 395 million to build a stadium for the Athletics, then we need the Athletics to give us a certain amount control over the team and prevent it from moving away after all this money has been spent. Remember, this is a team that has abandoned Philadelphia, Kansas City, and now it seems, Oakland. It is also about to set a new record for most losses in the 162 game season, and there is little to crow about in the future as the minors are weak. They are NOT a winning team and will not be for some time. 70% of seats to be sold to Las Vegans? Right................ Tampa Bay is a much better team to go for, and their contract with Tampa Bay is not as solid as TB would like. They are winners. We like winners and we do not support losers well at all........

April-August is the heart of vacation season. If they’re drawing a measly 20-25k average attendance that’s still roughly the same draw for a playoff caliber A’s team coupled with the increase in ticket prices and quadrupled franchise value. A bad A’s team will never average under 10k/game with away fans buying tickets. Look at the Raiders.

Hi I really like your great reporting on the a’s. I’ve been in Vegas since 92 and I’m a Dodger fan but would love to see the a’s move here. Vegas is a big baseball town hosting many club ball tournaments. The biggest problem with Oakland is the homeless problem with all the Rv’s parked on the streets and the crime is out of control because the Oakland liberals protect the crook and jail the hard working innocent people. We’re not going to pack the stadium but we’ll get at the least 15,000 people a game. This is a trendy party town and it’s very trendy to go to a ball game. It will be mostly locals going to the games but guaranteed tourists will go to the games.
