Big fan of Valero here. So sad this guy died. Valero was the future of the greatest sport ever.

As a fighter, I have the deepest respect for Valero. It was truly a wasted life. No excuses for Valero, but I'm sure the brain injury played a role. His drug use, drinking, could all have stemmed from mood swings, confusion, anger, which are all things that could have easily happened from having a damaged brain.

Respect for those who have fuck all to do with valero or his loved ones and ignore the true tragedy not for boxing of course but for good inexcusable facts should never allow cloud the judgement demons are killers and Edwin valero had his fair share and if he had the ability to channel it thru boxing in combination with mandatory rehab by the commissions at the first sign of the right side. He was an interesting case study of sporting demons. R.i.p Mrs valero. Edwin you will have to wait until i die I'm really sorry if you are in sincerity.

Valero was awesome. Fun to watch, interesting persona. His power was real and not from cheating, IMO. It's sad that he murdered his wife. I think that perhaps the bike accident may have helped play a role in his mood swings, especially when combined with drugs and liquor. Had either the substance abuse or the accident never been present, he probably would have made it through the dark times. Then again, he could just be violent, psychopath. Who knows? Bless his kids, I miss his fights.

soto karass is a big welterweight and a hard guy. he did give him a beating in sparring, valero is better known for beating top guys in the gym, he did beat a lot of a class fighters in sparring including Morales, Barrera, De La Hoya, etc good prospects Antillon, Santa Cruz.

valero was constantly improving, he woulldve beat may and pac imo 12-18 months down the line, just to strong and also intelligent, he wasnt a simple come forward fighter, had a good brain to go with it.

Krauty, you fail to understand that valero was not just some KO artist, he was an intelligent fighter constantly improving, thus why i predicted 12-18 months, the guy was improving fast and had a lot of good qualities. Stop crying, mayweather was good, but he completely cherry picked his fights at higher weight classes, valero was the real deal, smart, strong, and could hurt you with both hands and was improving rapidly, and loved being in the ring, all qualities that tell us he was going places.

what a shame, i was just starting to get into him. valero is like another version of pacquiao in my opinion. he could of been a super star, it's such a shame he died so early. i dont care what anyone says, but any pro boxer with a record of 27-0 27 ko's is a fucking monster. that's 100% perfect.

He never fought a proven elite fighter. He would have been picked apart and dominated by the like of Mayweather, Mosley or anyone else at the top of their game. Here we had another "Joel Julio", another "Edison Miranda". If he ever stepped up he would have been B level, with awesome power.
@THISISLolesh
@THISISLolesh 10 лет назад
The best name he fought was DeMarco.. Although he had great potential he had a lot of flaws in the ring too, we can only assume how could he would of been.. Would of he been able to move up and beat the likes of Mayweather? Probably not but it would of been interesting.

Can some one please answer my question: based on what I know Valero fought 27 times and he had 27 wins all with knockouts. My question is how come he did not fight top fighters like Pacaio or Floyd or Marquiez?. Because when he died he was 28 yrs old [ which is not that young].
@chillbill2166
@chillbill2166 9 лет назад
Because Valero got in a real bad motorcycle accident years ago, and it caused damage to his brain. Although he has fully recovered the usa boxing commission is very anal, and felt he should not be allowed to be licensed to fight in America due to his previous brain injury, or maybe they new he would beat boxings tv made stars, and they got scared to let him fight...Lol.. Regardless this made it hard for Valero to get recognized, and get big fights. Its such a shame, and tragedy what happened to him. He probably would have been fighting Mayweather instead of that chump Paccqiao by now had his life not got destroyed... Damn what a waste. We wont see another fighter like him for a long time if ever.

Krauty McLederhosen Valero most likely would has left Pacquio laying on the canvas. As far as Mayweather well.... that's a different story Mayweather's defense would probably get him through the fight, and if Mayweather survived all 12 rounds he most likely would have been up on points. I do know boxing well, and people can be jealous of Floyd, and hate on him all u want. That stil does not change the fact that Floyd is one of the greatest P4P fighters of all time. Valero could have been as well. His life, and story is far more tragic than Paul Williams. We will probably never see another Valero in our life time.

Edwin was a victim of life from his upbringing, growing up in the most violent country on the planet even till this day, extreme poverty, head trauma and a severe career ending injury, drug abuse, fame etc... He was a victim of life circumstances and bad choices.
