Excellent Documentary. Valerio had an extraordinary record and seems a genuine fighting man from the Heart.Tragic ending - and his poor wife. Sad ending.
punishing hitter , you miss he would throw 3 and 4 punch counter shots, he would have cleaned out todays light weights, amazing hand speed and reflexes. Pac bounces around, Valero would move to position and hit, two different types of fighters. I would rather go back and watch Valero spar than i would watch most fights
I personally met Edwin Valero in Japan back in 2012 . he was training out of TIEKEN GYM. He seemed like a great man , he gave me advice in boxing and in life. He signed a poster magazine for me and I took a picture with him. He had a jaw dropping boxing record and an amazing punching power. I was very upset when I came to find out about his death. I couldn't believe he would do such a thing, but we all do have our devils inside us that might just act out of impulse.. May he rest in Peace. RIP EDWIN VALERO.... P.S. He was such great friends with HUGO CHAVEZ at the time of his imprisonment. I'm sure that he would of let him off the hook if Valero would of asked, I think. I mean Chavez was the ruler and dictator of the whole Country at the time ???
yes you are right, my apologize. it was summer of 2008 . I was there when fought the Japanese Boxer Shimada for the WBA super-featherweight championship belt!!
+Krauty McLederhosen hey dude, why would anyone lie about meeting someone that's deceased? I meet him and I have a picture to prove it. Yeah, I might of messed up on the time period that I said I've met him, but that doesn't mean that I'm lying, bro? Wish I could post the picture as a comment on here , but I cant.
I see that guy never posted the pic... It's crazy how so many people lie on the internet, probably because they are not happy with who they are in the real world.
Saludos desde Caracas Vzla, es admirable como estos entrenadores hablan de Valero ,todos querian tenerlo en su campo de entrenamiento, Valero cuando queria boxear lo hacia con un estilo unico y en todas sus peleas y sparrings los dominaba a placer, fue el mejor peleador en su momento y todos los campeones le escurrieron el bulto, si esos golpes que les dio no hubieran sido con guantes de 8 onzas habria logrado mas de un ko en los entrenamiento, descansa en paz CAMPEON. he just fought at a pace that almost no fighter can keep up with solid, hard shots! as well he must have been in fantastic condition to maintain that pace and he wasn't living the life outside the ring either! fantastic fighter terrible human being such a waste.
it's common knowledge that valero abused his wife physically on a few occasions actually punctured her lung! and stabbed her three times in a drugged up rage! what the fuck are u talking about! his own family said they lived in fear of him because of his rage! do your research before u make comments plz.
El mejor el mejor lastima ..campeon......no sabremos q serias hoy dia en el boxeo q alegrias nos diste cada combate realisado el pais lo celebraba como un gran logro lastima tu error lastima campeon
15 years watching sparring or not iv seen hatton a good but not great puncher pacquiao and many others not just hurt but drop sparring partners and the sparring has had to be stopped. in fact naseem hamed wasn't allowed to hit sparring partners in the head as it caused so much damage. valero was a great puncher though and would of loved to see him fight rios and would have valero winning by ko in the mid to late rounds
ye bro so true. Thoe i think if valero went up in weight and robinson down it would prlly be one of the greatest fights of all times. but still, i see valero equal to pacqiaou maybe even abit better due to the fact that he never got knocked out, and i've seen valero catch some serious punches. But sugar ray is nr.1 no doubt, i even say that gene fulmer or a guy like jake lomatta would be able to take down valero or pacman, but its hard to say really. Buttom line is - Sugar Ray Robinson = Nr. 1
Valero is fast and strong, no doubt about that but he keeps his hands low, that's his style, like in the other fights. Roach and Pacman would exploit that and use it against Valero. Southpaw to Southpaw, it wuld have been a great fight. Maybe Valero will win, maybe not. It would surely be bloody and maybe go the distance. Pacman has always been a fast and powerful counterpuncher. However, we will never know. What a waste of talent. Too bad about his personal life.
3:28 it hurts valero, he got really mad about that punch, look at his left shoe.thats what make what happens at 3:52. he's human after all, so bad he didn't make it to the top fighters.
@shupakku That is crazy talk! He was a hell of a fighter but mayweather and pac would just frustrate him and beat him up... Mayweather especially would eat this guy alive for god sake and i hate mayweathers guts!! khan vs valero wud have been a great fight
What a waste of talent. Was not there yet but he could've been a p4p contender. Physically, he appeared to have it but mentally, not quite yet. Again, such a raw talent.
Joe is hilarious! He’s good friends with my aunt and he paid me a few times as a kid to record the Valero practices cause his gym was at my aunts work.
@@MobBless97 he has them. He gave me a video camera, told me to stand on a little stool & record. Daniel Ponce de Leon trained there, as well as guys like Panchito Bojado, Mighty Mike Alvarado etc. It was dope.
to all of u kids who this guy could take on the big names - he's good offensively, but some of his punches are wild, and he keeps his hands really low. a lazy defense which is open to counters. lol at the +8 thumbs up guy who said this guy would beat mayweather. don't kid me, someone like alexander would destroy this guy.
Boxing fans were robbed of the Valero Vs Pac Fight!! Seen this video I would say Valero would have won on the fact that Pac was a dumb fighter meaning that he was a one-dimensional fighter as was proven in the fights he lost. But this fight was never to take place for the simple reason that Valero's handler mentioned here: Valero was a thug and thugs don't last long. as opposed to Pac who was poor but knew EVERYTHiNG he'd ever want would come from his discipline and success IN the ring.
