First 2/3 of the build of Extreme Flight Extra 300 78". Petrol/Gas version. DLE 35cc RA.
- Unpacking
- Control horns spray painting
- Gluing the pin hinges with 30 min epoxy
- Sealing the hinge gaps (increases control surface efficiency)
- Tightening the covering with heat
- Applying thin CA to visible joints to increase their strength with no noticeable weight penalty
- Gluing the control horns to the surfaces
- Servo installation
- Engine mounting (gas/petrol)
- Making canister muffler holders
- Maiden flight

Information You install the brass sleeves on the servo in the wrong way. Must be upside down, the round side should protect the Wood ;-)

No there is no carbon other the the wing tube

Sorry Franz, I didn't weight the plane and unfortunately I destroyed it couple of weeks ago. The engine I used was DLE 35. I was very happy with it, if you would like to use DA 35, I believe that must be even better :)

Thx Ivan !!! Generally I'm flying electric ones, but I'm considering also gas in this case. And yes - I've heard DA are much better. Sorry to hear about a crash - next ones are ahead of you, and love never dies !!!! :)

just to be clear you build a kit not an arf . with an arf you assemble another mans work to me never as satisfying as building from plans and a box of wood arfs have destroyed this hobby

thats an arf not a build a build is a box of balsa and you glue and build and cover you guys have ruined a hobby with china made elmers glued prefab .building is not installing a radio and wheels that is just decorating another mans cake for him

Hey Billy. I agree with you apart from one thing: those ARFs brings many more people to the hobby. I myself enjoy flying more than building or assembling planes. Especially aerobatic ARFs take full advantage of CNC routing or laser cutting to provide extremely light and strong structures. There are still plenty of kits to build, anyone can build from scratch too. Hobbies are about having fun, some people simply have more fun flying ready made planes.
