That line "You have our fathers eyes," is basically a fuck you to the people that were comic book fans of Batwoman. In the comics it's the last thing that Alice says to Kate just before she dies. Alice in the comics is so far gone in the head that she never has any memories of ever being Beth or of Kate and Jacob. As far as she knows she was only ever Alice. So the line is supposed to have weight because as Alice is about to die and she and Kate are looking into each others eyes for the last time a faint glimmer of Beth finally gets through the insanity and the trauma and she actually recognizes her sister for the first, only and last time before she dies. Here it's basically just a shitty throw away with no drama or depth behind it because they can't write original stuff.
@@baalsagol346 Much better, the Batwoman writers basically changed everything about her character except for her being a lesbian butch and getting kicked out of the army for being gay, but even that last part they fucked up. For instance, in the comic when Kate gets found out and they want her to sign the form saying she isn't gay, it's written as a moral choice. Kate was raised by Jacob as a military brat so she was raised with a sense of military honour regarding things like lying to superiors. So the choice is presented as Kate either having to lose her position that she's dreamed of all of her life, or violate her deeply held moral principles by lying and not be worthy (in her mind) of the military position she wants. In the end Kate chooses to keep her honour and lose her dream. In the show they just reduce it to "I'm out and I'm proud, fuck the straights! I'm a rebel!" Now that Kate has no purpose in life and has lost all of her hopes and dreams she basically goes into a self-destructive spiral of drinking, whoring, and partying until she becomes a wreck. Until one night when she's walking home drunk off her ass from a party she gets mugged and saved by Batman. Which inspires her to pull her life together and do something useful. Become a crimefighter like him. The biggest fuck you is Jacob though. In the comics Jacob is basically Kate's Alfred. He's her dad and the one who gets her the training she needs to become Batwoman. Here they...well you see what they did to him in the show. Alice is much better as well. Also more dangerous. Comic Alice is one of the leaders of an international syndicate and religious cult.
Mauler's sitting there wondering what it would be like to listen to EFAP Batwomans all in a row, without considering we are EFAPpers. We'll watch them all in a row, several times.
@@brettlivingston595 It's something that popped up from their coverage of Boogie2988, who quite memorably, during one of his 'freak outs' on the Lolcow Live Podcast over being questioned about faking cancer/general lying about his backstory, screamed that his mothers "twitted my tipples!!" which sent everyone into hysterics and spawned these memes about it.
6:43 “As a lesbian who was married to a man for three years” Because of a curse placed on me by a vengeful gypsy, I actually remember season 1 of Batwoman. The show kept the exact number vague, but Kate was out of the country for _at most_ five years. Why would Sophie be speedrunning a relationship she knew would be one sided? And it was the 2010s. Being a single woman (or even a known lesbian) isn’t going to damage her career prospects in the field of private security. Show: this does not make Sophie look good. It makes her either so spinelessly submissive that she was the incapable of ever saying ‘no’ in a relationship from first date to _marriage,_ or it makes her a selfish manipulator who tricked someone into a hasty marriage she knew would be loveless for some kind of personal benefit. And, because her husband was a Crow, it opens the door to the possibility that she did the latter to bang her way up the chain of command. If Kate had delayed her return to Gotham much longer, she might’ve come back to find Sophie had traded up and married _Jacob._
I'll put 50 bucks on "the writers don't know what they're doing and just wanted to have a brave and bold(tm) and pandering line in the show, regardless of consequences", Jimmy.
Honestly, I got the impression that Sophie was bi and that she just struggled with having her ex (Kate) show up and reignite her love for her. But no, apparently Sophie was just so concerned with guaranteeing her graduation from Point Rock that she dove into the closet so hard that she ended up getting married to a man she didn't / couldn't love after that. That's so messed up...
@@nuclearchezburgr3857Too many writers forget bi people exist. It really would have been the simplest explanation for why she had a girlfriend and then a husband later.
"We need to replace our weight with the exact counterweight". And I'm sure they're gonna be honest about their wrights just because their life is on the line...
So of the people I know who watch this kind of garbage television unironically, I'm told that after Batwoman was canceled, her story is finished thru special episodes of Flash season 9 or something. Will the crew please view those as well after all of the main show? I'd love to see how they tear apart the "god tier" CGI in there!
They also have the ruby rose batwoman crossing over with supergirl They joked they would watch them for the 10 year aniversary but i kinda think it's not a joke anymore
That thing about age rating is actually interesting to think about. 24 was a show that used torture A LOT and could be kind of gory. But even something like Supernatural in its early seasons was VERY gory (to point watch a guys head explode and see it splatter inside a car in first episode) and both these shows are 14+. I'm not sure if age ratings have become more lenient just in general then before or if just getting an MA rating is just impossible without sex and swearing and MAYBE extreme amounts of gore.
We all come together with head lowered in cringe and praise for these brave souls who subject themselves to a torture more brutal than depicted in the show
Five minutes in and we have had a Mauler groan at "Riddler" and we have had Rags stating he hates this and we get a Batwoman preachy monologue! Woohoo! It's back baby!
Cluemaster is one of the lesser-known Batman villains. Calendar Man, Condiment King, Clock King, The Eraser, Crazy Quilt, Calculator, The list goes on.
EFAP is edging us with Batwoman like this because somebody probably said that once it's over they should react to Robyn Hood so now they just hope WW3 will come and save them from it.
I really thought you guys had just forgotten about this series… I’m glad it’s back, but please don’t pull this shit again. Wow… so much of my life has changed in between episodes. It’s insane.
I hate what this episode did with Stephanie Brown. I didn’t even know it was her until I realized she’s Cluemaster’s daughter. I love her as Spoiler, Batgirl, and even her brief time as Robin. For a show that preaches on and on about having strong female characters they managed to turn her into a damsel in distress TWICE in one episode. Thanks I hate it
I love Stephanie Brown too and I hated how they did her dirty here. But hey at least its better than what they did to Cassandra Cain in Birds of Prey. Also what did you expect with the shows main three "Strong female leads" are just whinnying annoying jerks that let the bad guys go most of the time and rely in plot convinces rather than actual skills
@@patrickmcguire7896All the Batgirls have been getting screwed over the last few years it seems. This show really is impressive in how they do it, they didn’t HAVE to bring in Stephanie Brown, They don’t HAVE to constantly crap on Batman. In S3 Jim Gordon is mentioned one time and it’s to say he was a terrible person and cop who made Gotham worse in a throwaway line. Whoever writes this show seemingly just hates these characters
12:50 Amazing how accurate she is with a gun she has never fired before, does not know the zero of, ETC...oh, also, tiny thing, she is drunker than Metal playing Simpsons Hit and Run.
You are probably talking about cricothyrotomy not tracheotomy, the latter is a more planned surgical procedure to help with long-term breathing issues while the former is the emergency procedure. The order with breathing problems would be oxygen > bag-valve-mask > endotracheal intubation > cricothyrotomy. You do a cricothyrotomy when intubation is not possible/fails for some reason. That might be due to severe trauma, conditions that block your airway like paralysis, throat cancer, many neurological problems, swelling, obstruction, excessive blood/vomit etc. Oxygen and mask options are obviously more for lets call it "regular" breathing problems, not life threatening emergencies where you are unresponsive/unconscious and there is a more severe underlying problem/condition. House actually tends to be quite accurate with breathing problems (as far as i remember). Weak breathing after a stress test? => Oxygen/mask Literally unconscious, cant breathe and is about to die/choke to death due to some rare condition with paralysis/swelling/whatever? => Try intubation, if it doesnt work or is obviously impossible due to the known condition go right to a cricothyrotomy. House cases usually are extremely time-critical (which also helps drama) and in cases of rapid deterioration (you can tell there is no time for intubation) you can go straight to cricothyrotomy which they sometimes do. (Im pretty sure i remember hearing the phrase "he is deteriorating quick/rapidly" a LOT on House lol) Obviously you see a lot more invasive methods in TV shows because they tend to deal with more severe conditions. Especially for House since he is reckless and its assumed any patient that gets to him has some rare condition, so they move to invasive tests/procedures quite quickly. Cricothyrotomy is naturally a last resort and rare in real life because they are quite invasive, but they are not rare at all when dealing with very time sensitive life-or-death situations, like in most TV shows. In a case of respiratory failure with excessive vomiting/foaming while unresponsive like in this case you might go straight for trying cric but judging that stuff luckily isnt my area. They dont really check or try anything so its impossible to judge.
cluemaster is in fact another existing DC character and batman villain. the major distinction between him and the riddler is "his clues aren't riddles"
23:56 THAT'S NOT HOW CAR GLASS WORKS! You need a small sharp object to shatter it! Car safety glass is literally made to not break when hit by a blunt object!
I was walking in a park the other day and someone had written on the sidewalk in chalk, "Ruby Rose Lick My Clit". This is probably the only venue that might appreciate that the way I did. It might have said "Lick My Clit Ruby Rose", it was written artistically in kind of like a mirror image, so "Lick My" was upside-down/on top of "Ruby".
Wasn't Cluemaster that one guy from "The Batman" who lost on a game show and got a free lifetime supply of snack bars and then rounded up the show cast to get revenge on them?
@@noahsmith1053 Yes. Though that version only exists in The Batman, the comics one is very different- though I personally prefer TB’s version, like a lot of the portrayals of villains in that show.
I just found the batwoman playlist on Wednesday and binged the whole thing by the end of Friday. I couldn't wait for the rest to come out, what a good surprise today!
@@mrminecraftcubeable lol, yeah, I realized that when I saw a comment on the last one. Knowing that made the timing for today even better for me, I thought I'd have to wait longer for more
True but I feel like that was less graphic. Ward and Kara were just sticking the spike things underneath her nails, not peeling them off IIRC I think peeling is more viscerally graphic.
It's weird how whenever a show, movie or advert wants to depict an interracial couple, it's always a Black Man & White Women. Never the other way round. Also 29:00 also this is the funniest shit I've seen all month. 🤣🤣🤣 Best Face Reveal
"It's weird how whenever a show, movie or advert wants to depict an interracial couple, it's always a Black Man & White Women. Never the other way round." This is absolutely not true. Actually I think the opposite happens more often. Just from the top of my head, I can give a example of that: Sonic movie. People really be reaching to find racism in everything these days.
Mootal says he can't handle as much alcohol as the characters are drinking, but this must have been recorded before the MauLer/Mootal/Simpsons: Hit and Run stream where he does.
Man, that nail removing scene... it's bad enough on the eww factor but it made me think of a show i really like and i don't like the idea of these 2 shows being linked in any way. now, to be fair to Batwoman, it wasn't exactly one for one comparision. The show i liked had the nail removing as a form of punishment (remove 3 of your own fingernails to prove you're sorry) rather than weird a knockoff-Saw-torture-escape-device-chair-lite-not-tm.
Oh yeah, completely forgot the Batmanwoman even existed. Ahh the heady days of crap content before it literally fell off a cliff and smashed through the multiversal barriers of suck-ti-tude.
3.5k Views & 546 upvotes in 2 hours. C'mon Maulie, it's obvious there is demand for the rest of the batwoman content. Maybe the rest of the content can be released in a more timely fashion??
@@mrminecraftcubeable Ya I heard about their release schedule. I just figured that these analytics would motivate them to maybe release sooner. A lot of the stuff released on mooler the last month will probably have as much views & likes as this latest BW episode will get in a 72 hrs. It's a heavily edited video so obviously it requires more work to produce. They can further monetize these BW reviews by live reacting to it. So much potential to leverage the popularity of this content.
One of my most vivid memories from when I was like 5 or 6 at a baseball game. I was bored and was curious if you could really call the police at a pay phone without having to pay. Needless to say the police showed up and I hid under the bleachers the whole time.
DA DA DA DA DA DA DADADA! Shitty batwoman theme music intensifies! I can understand why going through season 2 was such a slog. Reduced Jacob screen time & the show really leaned into the race baiting. As bad as season 1 was at least it was more meme-able. I wonder if they even got as far as season 3? By then the show had become the equivalent of sewer water.
