Great presentation - thanks. The obvious follow on for engineers working in the field is "what are practical and typical efficiencies of heat exchangers in service?". This is a function of capital cost, process design, and operating experience, among other things. Food for further thought and enlightenment among those so interested ...

great explanation, thanks! If i am not wrong this expression is the effectiveness of a heat exchanger and not efficiency. I have been trying to find if there is a term called efficiency defined and if so why is not as important as effectiveness
