The TT Evo has a service bulletin on the HH website for repositioning the ESC for more airflow due to temperature problems. I opted to take my soldering iron and burned 4 angled slots thru the underside of the fuselage to allow more air in. I was careful and the slots actually look stock.
Nice I did something similar when that TSB was released and used a cheater vent from my old F-16 fuselage and cut a rectangle to fit it and glued it in. The ESC stays nice and cool. But the motor in this video did not survive 😁
I just maidened mine on floats today and landed hard and got water in the motor/esc and I got the smoke too! hahaha. The floats seemed to fill up with water which threw off the CG. I contacted Horizon Hobby and hopefully they will honor my warranty claim. :) Video coming soon. I have a lot of content but no time to edit. haha.
You've downgrade the motor of that timber, the e-flite size 10 BL motor is a 3642... you got a smaller motor with a higher kv!!! Pay attention to the temps of that ESC, the tend to get hot. If you wanted more power you could just spend 5$ on a APC 13x4 prop, it would increase thrust and reduce the A drawing.
Thanks for the information and yes it has a higher kv but I also reduced the timing since this video and a 13x4 prop. The plane is flying great and I plan to bring it out again for the camera
