Thanks for that Andre. Been waiting a long time to see this up close. Im in the USA and it seems when the models come here tubeless tires will be standard i heard. Either way, I want the rally version too although i expect that will only be in the white from the factory. If thats the case I'll probably go for the blue and add the upgrades to make it a rally.
You're welcome and a few folks have mentioned tubeless as the main thing for them. I think there might be other rally versions available but we will find out in time.
Today I am ur first viewer, and let me tell u one thing I had RE Bullet wen I was in High School, after that I went for classic during my graduation, now I moved to a different city for my job I got a second hand RE Thunderbird which is still running, now I booked RE Super Meteors 650 which will b delivered by week or two and after that I will go for this RE Himalayan 450. Once u ride RE it will like ur shadow...
I have a Scram already, and I've ridden both a carb'd and EFI Bullet 500, a Himalayan 411, Meteor 350 and 650 Interceptor. I've not quite done all the range but I've tried most of them. I think they are great, though I do only have one in my garage.
Great review , I'm with you on the Rally Version of the 450 it looks really good and would make and excellent addition to your toy shop, as for having too many bikes , you can never have too many bikes 😀
@PeakMotorcycles Hello Andre loving the 450 ADV segment @ the moment would love a 2nd bike CF moto Mt 450 blown me away but doesn't seem to many dealers in uk.
Always like your show reviews 😊. The stripe on the bullet is hand painted then lacquered over to protect it. Regarding the Himalayan wheels I saw on an Indian video the guy saying that the UK market would get the tubeless rims on all colours/model and it was only the home market that got tubed as standard with tubeless being an option. So let's hope he's right 🙂
I'd say my pleasure... but it's a special kind of self-inflicted torture. 🤣 I'm always delighted when I'm finished, though my mind is spinning for a few days, just trying to get through all that I've seen. I guess it must be several hundred bikes, perhaps even more than 1000, not that I pay full attention to all of them.
@@PeakMotorcycles you are really nice person to share all these with us , haha self torture what will be next project , with so many new bikes .I'm interested in Kove 450... and now also 450MT and new Himalayan !
A nice bike, indeed, Andre, that 452. Heavy, yes, but equipped with a main stand for instance and crash bars. I'm sure they made the engine more lively than before. Tubeless is a very good idea for Europe. Thanks for your efforts, you must have had a strenuous evening yesterday. Thank you, there are now quite a few vids to watch. Günter/Nürnberg
Good to hear the quality looks upto scratch. I think the new Himalayan will be a winner, waiting on full blown reviews. I think it’s almost a dual sport so I think I’ll add it to my garage 😊
ZONTES apparently have a 703 F ADV bike there ive been told, interested to know if its the Yamaha engine and what the weight is coming out at, but i know i keep asking, if you do see it a pic of the specs page if they have one would be good 😀
So that's what it was... I've been to Zontes today. Most models I recognised, but there was one up on a stage with no explanation. I'll do the video after the Kove one. No info on the engine or weight I'm afraid, but if I can find someone to ask, I will. there wasn't a specs page with the bike on stage.
@@PeakMotorcycles i think its just at prototupe stage so details may be thin on the ground 🙂 the CP2 has been licensed out now, so there will be some tenere engined bikes coming and wondered if this was one of them 🙂 dont know much else yet, you see, we make a good team mate lol, my roots run deeper than most lol have fun tomorrow
I am really rather tempted... but then, I've also just had a good long look at a Kove 800x Rally..... #firstworldproblems Actually there are so many bikes I've seen that I'd like, so I think a bit of restraint and consideration is required. The Hypermotard 698 Mono is also great... So is the new CFMoto 450 Twin.... the list goes on.
I’d like to know what the difference is from the Rally to the Black and Gold. I would for sure want tubeless wheels on the black and gold bike. I also liked the exhaust on the rally better. Maybe all of this could be an option for the Black and Gold bike.
I think someone else had mentioned that the black and gold would also be available as a Rally in some countries.... I expect your local dealer could confirm?
I love the bike. With the gen 1, I loved the value of it. Here is your bike and there’s the price. I don’t like that they’re starting to lean towards- you gotta have an upgraded spec for tubeless tyres and or luggage points etc. why not just put it all on one model? Or am I wrong? Seems there going down the route of all the others now. How much money can we get from everyone 😢
@@PeakMotorcycles yeah I suppose, what’s with the hidden price. Is this a gimmick?? Are they waiting for interest first then the price? I don’t understand just tell us! I love Royal Enfield but there losing points with me. I own a gen 1 himi
@@bencluroe4183Keeping my Gen1 I think new one will be £6000 or so. Think a lot of people might grumble. At this price range I'd be tempted with something else over the Himalayan. (Tenere, Norden, CF Moto, Motomorini).
@@MauriceTarantulas yes, I agree💯 mate, if it’s sub £6 it’ll do well £5500 or less would be ideal. I also wonder what will happen to the price of the gen 1 bikes. They are now on sale £3999. I’m trying to buy a used gen 1 again now but people still want £3500+ which is crazy. How are they going to keep up with triumph who’s new 400 is £4999 and surely it’s direct competitor
@@bencluroe4183 Well I paid £5000 for my Himmy start of the year so feeling a little cheesed off. Well after trade in £2500...but I needed a bike after test.. P.s I'd want £3500 for mine. Think they are great. (If 2023, maybe less for something with 20k plus on the clock)
Dont like the looks time will tell how it rides plus its mpg etc. Price will be interesting. As a current Himalayan owner am gonna run mine into the ground! As a second bike the Sup Meteor 650 is a possible. Hoping for a 40bhp retro from R Enf. (The bullet 350 is nice but after a Himmy dont want another 20bhp bike as it stands). That said the 350 classic looks like a joy to ride!
Yup, I think there's still a bike or two to come on the 650 twin platform. Just not today. RE are quite good at sticking to their '4 new bikes a year' target, so perhaps not long now.
There are rumours of a Scram 440 in the works, which will be based on the old 411 engine just with a larger bore, and will replace the old 411 bikes as a cheaper option to the new Himalayan. I don't know if you are still there at EICMA, but maybe you could ask one of the RE guys about it?
I'm really sorry but I left already. Tomorrow is the first public day, and even today (Wednesday) was almost impossible to do any filming in the afternoon, and there are 10x as many people there on the public days, so it's not worth the hotel costs to stay for more than two days. I think I have filmed 41 videos, so enough to keep me busy editing for the rest of the week. I must admit that I hadn't heard about a bigger bore Scram, and I think it's more likely that there will be a Scram 452.
I didn't realise you were there on a press day, it looked really busy even without being open to the public. There are many scramblers planned, including one based on the 650 platform and a 452 scram as well. The 440 scram is supposedly in development (according to Indian automotive websites), as an improvement to the 411 engine. It would have similar characteristics to the Scram 411 but be cheaper, codename D4K, and would compete with the Triumph Scrambler 400X. It sounds silly but at some point RE will be selling a 411, 440, 452, and 650 scramblers, based on the 3 engines, although the 411 will probably get phased out eventually. @@PeakMotorcycles
This bike sure seems pretty darn good. Pretty close to being a unicorn for me. I bet if you strip off some bits and change out the battery you could get it down to 400lbs or maybe even less.
Yup. Not everyone wants a centre stand and a Li battery is an easy weight saver. A few kg with a different exhaust too, alloy bars.... and yes, I'm sure it'd come down.
@@PeakMotorcycles the CFMoto does look interesting and they are up there with the bigger brands quality and reliability wise now, hopefully their 450 will be a great success, between the new and re-emerging brands there is some good stuff in the works and they will give the establishment a much needed kick up their jaded backsides
Thing is, somehow they’ve made a 450 single weigh the same as a Tenere. This should have really weighed around 185kg. Only if it’s released at a cheap price - that will compensate for the weight.
True, but the other way to look at it is that they’ve taken the hugely successful Himalayan 411, and made it a bit lighter and far more powerful. It’s also made for both the domestic Indian market as well as the international market (where it will sell for twice the India price)
No plastic all around the bike and it's bit built around concept of cheap alternative, so you can forget about light weight bike from RE at this point.
So I have just got planning permission for a barn.... not for bikes, but it does mean all the agricultural stuff (tractor, loader, log splitter, trailer etc. etc.) can go in the barn (when it's built) and that will free up some space. That said, 10 bikes is enough... Just imagine that's 10 MOT's a year, 10 services, even if I do it myself, so I decided that if I ever go a year without riding a bike, it will have to go. In this case it's the CB1000R.... I shall miss it, but not that much.
There was no information on it, and I couldn't find anything on the internet either. It's also a concept, so won't be for sale, so other than put it in the background, I'm not sure what else would have been useful. You have my apologies of course.
The 350 is just too gutless, a friend got rid of his because of that reason, they should reintroduce the 500 if they can build a 350 then they can do the same for a 500. I know it's not a motorway cruiser but most people will need to do some carriageway riding and for that it's hopeless.
Depends what it's for. If you're after a powerboat, a canal barge is gutless. It's just not for everyone. On paper, the 350 doesn't make sense to me. 19hp in 200kg... no thanks. But then I tried one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (It was a Meteor 350). Do you know which 350 your friend had? The old carb'd one or one of the new ones. They are not the same.
Everything except the Fkin PRICE????????????????????????????????????? The Zontes ADV 310 I owned a few ago had tubeless spoked wheels so not a new thing either, but finding the price of this bike is a joke.
Thanks. I didn't make it. Blame Sony. Or as you're the only person who's mentioned it, could it be you? Just asking! (ok, it's probably me. It's a handheld ZV1. No gimbal. No tripod. Nothing fancy that takes time. You have my apologies.
i loved the idea of it but it would seem they may have waited too long to take orders, the Chinese models look better, have better gear and will be just the same cost or better - wtf is a 'rally' model with none adjustable suspension? talk about marketing, wake the hell up people, next you will be buying a +200kg bike thinking you will ride it like an enduro ....oh wait 🤣
🤣 And yes, CFMoto have stolen a little bit of RE's thunder. I'm sure they'll be ok though, and how great is it that we have a choice like this now. I'd have taken either options in the past.
