A big factor on this plane is its fabric covering: This plane is flying with our Oratex600 the BetterAircraftfabric! Its a aircraft fabric covering that needs no paint for technical purposes, it can be painted if desired but in general comes ready to fly in various colors, You just glue it on and Go flying! No more need to deal with solvents and toxic paint and no spending hundreds of hours sanding and spraying. With Oratex600 a plane can be build in a living room, no stench- no problems! Its also tougher than the usual aircraft fabrics, and yet it is lighter. See more about it on our channel. There is also the Oratex6000 for bigger planes and Bushflying. The 600 is for UltraLights only. Regards from Alaska!
Hi A Rogue Chihuahua; is you plane a single seater or a two seater ? I be glad to talk with you about it all. My You Tube Channel leads to me website, please contact me about it. I can also get you in contact with other Oratex builders in your area. Best Regards from Alaska! Lars
who on earth makes the kit Airfix ,,,, lol so amazing to see such a beautiful aircraft coming out of a small trailer. any more info on the build , engine etc
Do you want to fly an aircraft with wings which have to be made weak enough to be flexible for wing warping? I don't think that would pass modern safety standards. Would be cool though....
Men flew them in combat so they may have been weak enough to be flexible but they were strong enough to do the job. If it is really an ultralight they usually have no regulations here in the USA.
That's a good point, it would be nice to see more replicas built truer to the original design, although looking from a builders perspective perhaps more difficult and expensive
