I gather there’s ~160 quests including story ones, so it’s not toooooo overwhelming to grind out the side stuff It’s a bit broken though with the perma-upgrades from the food ^^’ each teleport to the lake point in the first dungeon gives you enough money for 2 stat ups, so can shoot up critical rate to 100% quite easily

Thanks for the tip. I love to cheese RPGs no matter how forgiving they already are

I'm sitting at 100 quests, most of them I got through quite quickly because I tended to just run through the dungeons instead of just going and farming certain items, so I tended to have the exact items I needed and breezed through dozens of quests without having to delve back into the dungeon aside from quest specific items.

You are so right I am having the same experience. I love this Gem of a game and 14.99 was a steal! Rabbit & Bear is a great development group. I can't wait for Hundred Heros!

Still impressive considering this is just a side project funded by a stretch goal
@Jenema2
@Jenema2 2 года назад
It's a bit shady though. They added this side game to the Kickstarter at the last minute and ended up having to abandon other stretch goals that they had already achieved (such as voice acting) to afford to make this. They essentially took resources away from the main project and most of the backers who donated before it was added didnt agree to fund a completely different game with hack n' slash gameplay.

What perfect timing. I just 100% this a few hours ago. For the record, I loved this game. The grind wasn't terrible, at least I didn't think so. I maxed out my level about the same time as I hit the endgame, so the grind felt like it served a purpose. The post game was a grind, as most post games are want to be, but that was in the service of getting that wonderful 100% fix I so desperately need. The combat was fast paced with two combat settings and multiple difficulty settings, it is as challenging as you want it to be. The link attack system is great, especially when you get a little something special after you complete all that side questing. Combat just feels good. All in all, I'd recommend this game to just about anyone. Especially if you have Game Pass. It's free, so why the hell not try it out.

You are so right I bought this game on PS5 I'm going to beat it there and repeat on the xbox series x and the Switch. It will also becs game that I stream from beginning to end. So much fun to be had.

I love this game I've never felt bogged down doing any of the quests. I enjoy the dungeons so much that lots of side quests were done before I got them. I would give this game an 8.5 out of 10. I don't understand when people say a game is TOO repetitive EVERY GAME is REPETITIVE. IMAGINE LOOKING AT A NEW Sonic, Halo, or Crash, Title and saying they're repetitive. A gamer buys a sequel to a game because they loved the last games Play Mechanics! I can imagine these people saying "I don't like the new Sonic game because he runs fast and its SOO REPETITIVE". SMH that's a stupid and lazy way to give games a low score when they deserve higher ones. 18 hours into this game and I could play 10 more. Excellent game and a worthy prequel to what I hope is a great RPG coming next year. Peace and Be well to all gamers!

I have been waiting for this and while it doesn't seem to have that polish it still sounds good to me especially since we are going to get another better game later on so I am happy to support

Sounds like Inspector Gadget for GBC, where the bulk of the game is spent as the titular character since Penny and Brain are so squishy.

Do I need to play anything before playing this game?
@FreshMetal80
@FreshMetal80 2 года назад
No. This game was a stretch goal for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and serves as a prelude to that game, which should be out next year.
@mmarage1

@@FreshMetal80 and it is also a companion game, whatever you do in this game will transfer over to the next one, I believe. So the New Naveah that you wind up ending with should in theory be in the following game.

@@davidjameswales Apparently developers do pretty well out of Gamepass. It's the choice of a guaranteed lump sum versus the possibility of outright failure. The security of the up front money has to be worth it for a lot of smaller devs.
@BAZCHILLIN

@@davidjameswales with genres like this it atleast gives them a sack of money up front. They still sell on multiple store fronts and the game gets good exposure through game pass.

So...sounds like a good game to play in between larger game releases (kinda like Dusk Diver, Astral Chain, Ender Lilies, etc)...probably will pick it up later when i have the extra cash as the art style and combat somewhat reminds me of Vanillaware's 2D beat em up rpgs and I've had fun with those...might try the main Suikoden like game when it comes out as well (hopefully on Switch as well since i feel like it will feel best there for me so i can take it around and either play it on my chair, bed, couch, etc).

I think it looks like fun, if a little generic. I do really like the visuals and the length. 100+ hour RPGs are just too much, IMO.

The characters look a bit too much like cutouts for my taste. Maybe some of the lighting tricks that games like Broken Age used would've been good.
