with this one, a lot. he has planned out all of her phases, has responses prepared to basically every attack, and knows all of her combo timings and deflect/parry windows. this probably took a good while to perfect
@@MortiefiedBear yes but its more of a deflect than a regular block, u time when u press ur block button like as if its a sekiro parry. the animation looks the same but there's a little ding noise when its timed correctly and ofc no damage taken
1:42 - Everyone is talking about how awesome the new Sekiro flask component is, but this parry here and others like it are equally as impressive. The windup is so short and you reacted to it so quickly that it's honestly amazing. I can get the other 3 windups, but I've always struggled to see this attack coming - very, very impressive.
@@SlipknockoutWhen you get close to her she is likely to do that attack. It's like Radhan double slash into cross combo. It's hard to see but if you are expecting it it's easy to dodge
@Slipknockout oh 0:16 is fine if you're deflecting because the window is enough for that - you can get it with practise. Parrying it, however, means you need to press the parry input much earlier than if you are just deflecting, and that's what I struggle with.
@@anonisnoone6125she's definitely a lot more challenging but imo the only thing i would consider more unfair about her is the visual clutter in the second phase means i can't see shit. the combos seem endless but when you know which ones are the "finishers" they're definitely easy to punish.
@@anonisnoone6125the non stop combos were meant to make you engage more with the boss. Shes easy to parry & deflect, giving you a lot of window to punish. Her pressure is still somewhat manageable and takes skill to do it effectively. Combos from other bosses on the other hand, are pure BS. There are there to just pressure you continuously like the Final Boss.
@@anonisnoone6125 nah i do think pontiff is really good, and more interesting lore wise, but gameplay wise rellana is better, parries have more payoff, and shes like a much fairer malenia imo.
Hey Ongbal, I watch your videos since quite some time. I really love the new ones where you really try to bring a theme and the fights become much more beautiful too see. Keep it up, you really deserve much more views!
It's not reaction time. He drilled the fight, knowing what to expect and when to respond in a stylish way. He could totally do it far earlier but doing it at the time the glintblade start coming toward him is far more stylish. It's much more effort than simply reaction.
its not reaction time but just the boss mechanic, every time she jumps back she almost always does some sort of ranged attack either the horizontal slash or the glintblades
100/10 the most cinematic fight I've ever witnessed, period. The way you fight use all those spells, stances... like every single thing in your arsenal... it's so beautiful to witness.
@@apophisstr6719 Nah using the tear in the main game just makes it clear the game is barely made with deflect in mind. Like it made Ng+ braindead easy.
I think this deflect tear is the result of Miyazaki trying out Lies of P since he already said in a interview that "he played some soulslikes & tried to learn from them to better the experience for his games" before DLC was released.
I love how you remind us that we can dodge attacks without rolling. Also I loved looking at your memorized spells and seeing twin moons within the first 2 seconds of the video lmao. I knew exactly what would happen.
I was expecting a cool fight but I was utterly amazed with the show of mastery of multiple mechanics. I love that Ongbal weave in those counterspells and the finish with Twin Moon is a satisfying spectacle
She is a good boss with some flaws not my favorite but pretty fun. My only really big complaints about her is she doesnt stop attacking and has long attack chains, if the attack chains were shorter it would suck less but they are slightly to long, and i feel like she would be more fun if put later in the dlc, as she is one of the hardest bosses in the game, if fhey put her later in the dlc think people would be less mad. Decent boss, cool lore, fun to look at, great rewards 8/10.
deflecting tear is definetly a highlight for the dlc. when i first read it i instantly thought its trash but after trying it for fun on messmer i realized just how crazy it is
I was thinking yesterday of doing something like this and now Ongbal hits me with this on my feed, man can read minds 🤣well, at least it gives me more ideas to optimize what I was thinking, very cool, as always Mr Ongbal.
That finish was so damn perfect. I love how you mix-mached a lot of different tools, spells, weapons...I mean, essentially disrespecting the boss entirely but that's the fun of it XD Also, the good thing with your videos is that they're never long. Any fight that would take about 10 to 15 minutes for any mortal always last less than 3 minutes for you lol
There will come a time when Miyazaki will truly take notice of you, and make a boss based on you or at the very least named after you, as some sort of 'easter egg'. And it will be the most difficult optional boss he will have created.
Its cool to see how the Souls genre currently undergoes so much experimentation across several developers. Its a bit rugged to play at times, but it means a very very bright future
