Chase, I want you to know that one of the reasons I watch you (and also your buddy Lost) over other PvP creators is because you two always seem like you're having just endless buckets of fun, constantly laughing and joking and being so upbeat. It's really appreciated in these sometimes very grim days, thanks for being a bright spot on RU-vid man.
@@I_ML7 I dunno about anyone specific (because I tuned out of a lot of them pretty fast) but some folks just get salty or go full tryhard and it just doesn't seem like they're having *fun*, you know? I like it when the content creator is having a good time and Chase (and Lost) seem like that's the case in almost every vid, even when the other guys pull out Rivers of Blood or Moonveil or Waves of Gold they're still laughing and having fun with it.
I'll add to this. Chase is having fun. He's playing fair, and he's not being toxic or cruel. Watching his videos really changed my mindset towards PvP. All the videos, clips, reddit threads, etc, that I'd seen were from people who were toxic, cruel, disrespectful, and generally unpleasant. I still don't invade, but when I am invaded, I bow and try to give them a good, fair fight. If they're toxic or cheat, then I'm free to bully them (I had fun deleting toxic invaders before Rolling Sparks got nerved lol)
I've been feeling pretty depressed recently, chase helps with that. I think that even something like souls pvp can help a lot given there's positivity going into it.
@@aisuyukiithat’s why it’s not a meme like you guys are trying to turn it into. He probably would have already done it if you guys could stfu about it.
It was nice but for me the peak ChaseTheBro moment is him winning vs Infinite Stamina, FP & Heals cheater and his whole clueless squad in Profaned Capital in DS3... "F you! You F**king trashcan" and then killing (by backstab) the cheating asshole despite his godmode
It's crazy how skilled you are at pvp in this game. You REALLY understand the hit boxes and spacing on another level. The fact that you dominate regardless of build speaks for itself. Love watching your invasions. You and a ninja invader I just discovered are the only two invasion channels I follow.
If I can make a suggestion for a future video, make one on the weapons the Messmer Soldiers use. The axe they drop has insanely good charged heavy attacks, and the great spear is infusable like the lance and has the Treespear’s double hit charged heavy attack.
@@nxvh9062 'heres one decent weapon in the class! See, the entire weapon class is good!' The exception proves the rule. Also what weapon? The colossal weapon moveset is trash. If you tell me only 1 button is good (AoW) im gonna flip. Also if you give me a colossal sword ill also flip.
@@sturmmagnunstein1008 colossal weapon running r2 is goated. Can’t get staggered and anything that isn’t a boss eats shit. You turn PvE, yea even DLC PvE into a joke with giant crusher/Golem halberd.
Chase has helped me so much in pvp !!!! Every rivers of blood I don’t fear now because chase always verbalizes the hits so now I have learned what to expect !!!! Love it Chase Thank you!!! Lost is lucky to have you as a friend!!
That wizard trying to blend in with the environment was honestly pretty great for anyone not familiar with the area. Made me chuckle. The perfect passive.
My suggestion is the lizard greatsword. Claymore with a pew, maybe five something that buffs the pew like the smithing talisman or arrow sting? Otherwise just however you want to run it.
That free aim gravity kill with the pot was absolute *chef's kiss*. Reminds me of the old DS1 vids sniping people with greatbows in Anor Londo and Crystal Caves.
Hefty pots are no joke the best addition to the game. They are not op, but they work and they are so funny to see. Anyway, I really want to see a smithscript daggers invasion. They are probably not exceptional against multiple opponents, but I noticed the jumping heavy has a solid chance of headshotting player sized opponents. Their biggest issue is that they have no threat at short range, so finding something to combine them with would probably be a good idea. One on one they have really good kiting potential. Maybe the rolling goat ash of war could make for a funny short range defense.
Yo Chase, you should do a showcase on the Lizard Greatsword. Its not OP or anything but the unique R2 fires a little projectile that if infused, can inflict a status. Its in my top 5 DLC weapons for PVP
The projectile also deals 150 poise damage and thats not including the initial hit! It is a non somber weapon so yes you can add ashes of war to it! Solid 8/10 weapon
This video was a ton of fun from the sheer Shenanigans and Antics perspective. Some of the most fun invasions I think I've seen from you after all this time of watching you!
Speaking of throwable weapons, ever give the Cirque's an honest go? Their jumping heavy is considered a throw AND a jump, so it counts for boosts like Claw Talisman+Raptor/Gravebird feathers. They're also one of the few weapons that feel good to use while jumping backwards. They don't hit terribly hard, I would consider them 'pesky' rather than decisive fight enders, but they're odd to roll against. Also gets a B in int on Cold, if a person prefers frostbite over having more AR.
I can attest to this, haven’t used this but have been ABSOLUTELY caught off guard with the insane tracking. At close ranges this weapons will literally circle around you and then hit, which allowed for some further R1 spam with the stun. This was around me being in the 70-80 poise range btw. Absolute monsters in the right hands.
Their ridiculously low range was driving me insane, it’s like you have to be in melee range, like five feet away anyways so what was the point of being technically throwable. And then of course they still do way less damage than the hammer but I’ve seen a fair number of people talk about how they’re cool/decent weapons so idk I must not know how to use them. I don’t really play the super quick dex style weapons admittedly
Dude the fight in the deathtouched catacombs when you guys are like staring each other down and waiting for opportunity's to fight through the traps felt like Dual of fates, love your content keep up the amazing work!
I’ve been using this great hammer! So glad to see you try it. I also put frostbite on it but didn’t think of the waves of darkness! I was using hoarfrost stomp, but this seems far superior
Chase put this video out and was talking about haven't seen alot of people using the smithscript weapons the day after I respect to use them 😂 I didn't want to use before because there damage was bugged but now that there fixed there alot of fun
I've had an enormous blast invading with a blacksmith type character featuring the smithscript weapons and the anvil hammer. It's exactly the kind of flavor I needed in my life.
As someone that only finished the game once, the dlc has reignited my desire to replay the game with various builds, and even if I dont play much pvp your vids definitely helped with some ideas while also being very entertaining
Thanks again for the daily upload, Chase. I love your videos and I've been watching almost daily since the DS3 days. The only thing I don't like about the Smith Script hammer is it's short melee range. I got so use to (ultra) great swords and colossals that I feel like I have to be right next to whatever I'm trying to hit or I just miss every swing.
I've been loving this weapon. One thing I'm sure you'll have fun with on your own is keeping the frost infusement but with stormcaller. With the new talisman that buffs storms, you can basically 2 shot players when they aren't expecting the ash of war then going into a well timed uncharged heavy attack. Since the frostbite can proc and stuns them momentarily, they're sometimes left wide open for the heavy to finish them, though other times they just panic roll and get hit anyways.
Explaining the gravitational missile for future wizard encounters: You can either shoot it straight forward and it will pulse twice to pull anything within its radius towards the middle before it explodes on the third pulse, but you also have the option to aim it at any object, floor, wall etc. if it makes direct contact it will explode immediately for the damage of the hird explosion.
@@kiltysalter2966 Just went and tested it myself, it definitely increases the range. I'll post a video on my channel. It's not an insignificant amount, but im not sure it's worth using up the tali slot
@@Rain1 hey cool. I stand corrected. That does make it more useful. Doesn’t seem to work on the daggers or cirque, but I assume it would work on the spear, cause it works on the spectral lance. Why so inconsistent, I wonder.
@@kiltysalter2966 yeah I tested it on the other ones too and was kind of bummed out but to be honest if someone was using it with the cirque against me I would cry
3:15 a very silly thing you can do in this catacomb is go up those stairs and wait for the host, they will trigger the deathblight eyes and it doesn't affect invaders at all
This hammer became my favorite elden ring weapon since i found it. I think the funniest PVE quirk of it for me was that ranged heavies have insane agro, so this hammer is really cool as cooperator for taking boss agro away from the host with basically a melee option. Even though a lot of ashes can't be applied to this hammer, holy infusion still has very high AR after the patch, i had fun against invaders with with prayerful strike.
Chase brother, I really wish you did a great bow trolling video. Making people fall off cliffs, gravity kills. It's always great fun man, and with your heehee laughs, it would be perfect
Hey Chase! Been enjoying the invasions and that Iron Jar build was a must try... So evil. Really wanna see you do a build around the Shield of Night. It functions allot like the Erdtree Greatshield but being a small shield class with 15 Dex req it's far more build versatile. Could prove a worthy addition to your "Wizard-away" tool kit and I recall you had a blast trying out the Erdtree G-shield, so why not try this one next?
Gravitational missile sits in place when aimed forwards, but can be used as a get off me tool by aiming it at a wall or floor, which instantly triggers the explosion.
I've been using this with the throw talisman, shard of Alex, two hand talisman, and either dash or charge attack. Massive DMG numbers when you catch someone in the wind up of the charge attack.
Great video! The smithscript weapons are so interesting to watch in pvp no one seems to be ready for a massive hammer to be whipped at them And if im to suggest a weapon Im very curious to see how you make use of the new Pata fists Ive found some success with a lightning build but i want to see your take on it
You can use the Smithscript shield to force people to roll and then punish it because you have time to move before it launches towards them. It can also work as combos
I remember seeing a clip of this and I dont like looking up locations for items. As soon as I found the smithing forge dungeon I said... yeah this feels like where that hammer would be.
haven't gotten a chance to really test it on invasions, but check out the Red Bear claws as an offhand. It does a little forward leap, so it might make for halfway decent rollcatch if you've got a slow mainhand
