I forgot to mention you can also wear the Divine Beast Helm, it increases storm damage by 4% and increases strength and dex by 3. but it also reduces the effect of you sacred tears by 9%, and lowers your focus. Not to mention the fashion is just not the best lmfao. I prefer to not use it personally.
@@thehuskyraccoon because they spam shots at you from a safe distance. It’s like getting in a fight with someone and all they do is run and throw rocks at you.
Something I like with the new storm synergy items is that they indirectly buff quality builds. Storm blade scales best with quality, and stormhawk axe and zamor curved sword are both quality weapons with storm ashes. (Zamor also got direct buffs recently) I think storm is a nice thematic fantasy for quality builds.
Dude, ever since i have been watching your content you have been averaging almost triple/double the amount of views per video from what im seeing compared to the non-dlc videos, which is insane and awesome! glad that you have been growing alot recently.
I’ve been running a build like this. Great strength range and melee and defensive! Also Freyas sword with savage lions claw is huge damage if you can fit a third sword.
Spear of the Impaler video? I can see an Endure into Messmer's Assault being really good, tho its better on a faith build/min dex because the ash of war's fire scales with faith!
where's the synergy though? It's just 2 non-powerstancable weapons with different status effects and nearly identical roll timing, except one is short and does no damage. Unless i'm missing something, there doesn't seem to be any interaction between the two
@@lred1383 it’s interesting probably not great, but nanayas torch can proc madness pretty fast if you can stay close enough to keep hitting them post roll, i haven’t gotten the new st Trina sword but if you can sleep them then build their madness with the torch. it could be a okay thing probably not the best, but interesting, I played a little with the torch and it’s definitely a decent aoe madness starter doesn’t do dmg but switching on and off the torch getting madness dmg and sleep with the two new talismans st Trina’s one and the new madness one, (forgot the names) if you proc either one you will get dmg boost idk if those stack but if you slept then triggered madness could possibly get a huge dmg buff then with Alexander’s shard you could get huge dmg. but ima be real with you idk how to make madness or sleep builds but id assume you’d just mix it together with those status talismans. In conclusion idk just gotta try the sword and see how easy it is to trigger the sleep and how quickly the torch can build madness. Also just thought of it using the madness incantations maybe just better than the torch sleep them then quickly try to build as much madness as possible
@@someoneontheinternet6671 the problem is that you're gonna find MUCH more success if you lean into one or the other. Madness builds have been around for ages, using Vyke's spear, and there's few things more nightmarish than someone dual wielding Trina's swords and basically not letting you fight back with the constant sleep procs. Mixing the two, however, just results in a build that's stretched way too thin and will fail at everything it tries to achieve
I’ve been running a similar build and it’s been great! There is also a storm beast helm from the knights that boosts 3 strength 2 Dex and storm damage! But flasks heal less as a trade off.
@@Shmethan bestial vitality, with the regen talisman, greatshield, and crystal tear gives an incredible amount of regen, especially at lower hp values where you're more able to consistently proc ritual shield talisman over and over, one of the only working defense talismans in pvp. You're not clever, buddy.
Back in 2022 and on my first play through of the game, I used Storm Uchigatana to basically get me through the entire game. I remember using that and mimic tear against Malenia and I had her from my 5th or 6th attempt. I didn’t use it for NG+ or the DLC but maybe I’m thinking bring it back now as a change or for PvP.
Storm sword feels so good on the Great katana. I like the weapon variety it gives you too since you already got a Zalimor Curved greatsword. Plus the great katana has a huge swing range, which makes it a lot easier to hit em with the sweet spot of storm sword. If you didnt know, you can hit someone with the weapon swing and the projectile while using storm sword. It's not a straight up one shot, but its really close to a one shot and you can roll catch them with the running r1/r2 right after assuming they panic roll. It also looks almost exactly like an r1 so it'll trick people up even after they know it's coming.
I’ve been storm blading with a heavy iron greatsword with stormblade and the stormhawk axe at level 138. I decided to experiment with Iron greatsword since it has good base AR and scaling on heavy for the stormblade damage and the stormblade itself makes up for iron greatsword not having the poke moveset like Baemore does. Been loving it.
I love how more of these players just don't seem to expect a powerful storm build; The variety of options never cease to amaze me. It's like each video shows me something more I've just not had the chance to play around with yet.
I love a pure storm build. It's how I done my first playthrough. I got the talisman early and stayed with it. Killed every boss with it. So strong and so underrated. Storm blade on Great Katana was my main but added a couple on backhand blades and Milady. I was a quality more dex and I didn't, well still haven't had that great curved sword to drop yet.
Just began testing the storm stuff myself and it’s been a blast so far. You can do faith strength and go full thunderstorm build. Not optimal, no doubt, but the aoe static armor thingy with a lightning blade’d heavy knights Calvary halberd w/ storm caller is pure eyecandy. Plus dancing dog head for the hahaheehas
Magma builds also got buffed in the dlc with the dread talisman, would be pretty fun with a str/fth build using the magma wyrm cgs, the serpent magma cs, and a weapon using the eruption ash of war. (Of course a blasphemous in the back pocket is a nice addition too)
The Divine Beast Frost Stomp is unfortunately not boosted by the storm talisman, but there's four talismans that boost its damage significantly. One good choice is the stomp and kick talisman, which makes the build work great on Dane's footwork! Would love to see you try it sometime
Chaaaaase, I’m sure you have some idea of what videos you want to do but I would love to see a pure magic build centered around doing both inc/spec with the staff of the great beyond. Miquellas light MELTS
Chase, further down the line do you think you'd be willing to try out the swift spear? I see no one using it yet - probably for good reason but it'd be nice to know how it fairs and if it's worth upgrading or not.
Love the vid as always! Always happy when you upload, whenever you get the chance id love to see a vid on relanna's twin blades! basic i know lol but i think the mixup potential due to the multiple movesets paired wth RWSI would work SUPER well!
That Gaol invasion was hectic I thought a luck victory was going to happen with the host falling off somewhere, that's how I died in that Gaol just exploring and fell off a tiny hole.
I'd love to see Ansbach's scythe, I think it's called obsidian lamina or something. Still, a whole cosplay to check how much the bloodflame incantations get buffed by his set would be interesting, along with his new incantation. Also, apparently the swordlance deals more damage and stuns longer than intended with its heavy attacks. It seems it is bugged. A common theme with most powerful setups of the dlc unfortunately.
You should try miriams vanishing into hammer/rellanas twin moons, or certain ashes of war, its really fun to use cause it removes the lock-on players have on you.
It would be cool if the enraged divine beast talisman also boosted damage during storms, like around Bayle's area , for example. That being said, I'd like to request that you turn to the dark side. Yes , i'm saying join the side of your nemesis, the wizards. Purely for science, of course. The Carian Sorcery Sword has caught my interest ever since I found it. Unfortunately, all my dlc builds don't have any INT, and I don't want to respec any of them. I played with it a little by equipping a sorcery helm, the talisman, and the cracked tear, plus the Grafted Greatsword's ash of war. I found you can make up for the lack of a jumping R2 with Carian Slicer. The Carian Greatsword, Piercer, Adula's Moonblade, and Gavel of Haima are good heavy attack alternatives. The weapon itself is pretty cool and unique. I just can't come up with any practical ways to use it effectively. I figured it'd be pretty cool for you to put your spin on it. Maybe see the dual wield or off-hand combination ideas. On top of that, you have access to all the sorceries. It's almost like having a thrusting sword that you can two hand with all available sorceries as your ash of war. Thanks Chase, as always another informative and entertaining video.👍🙏
Hell yeah, this is the build i have been rocking, mainly horned sword with Freya sword with the ranged wind (i didn't know it boost the Zamor sword which is cool asf)
Hey Chase I know its been a minute since you looked at it but you're sleeping on the Beastman Cleaver (curved gs) for your STR arcane build. It gets wild blood loss build up for how fast it is and you can sword dance it.
02:10 - your "Sir" reminded me of the Romans from Monty Python 05:25 - truely of magic swords fan enjoyer 07:42 - NOBODY LIVE! 11:43 - its freaking duel dungeon :^D
Thanks for the great content Chase! Do you think Messmer Spear could be any good in pvp? Would love to see you invade with it in combination with other weapons. Thanks for the best PVP channel!!
14:47 that should be the aow for the Tree Sentinel's colossal or something like that (more like a lightning version of the falling beast jaw), not the worst version of endure. Maybe if you guys ask it for another patch?
Have you tried the star lined sword? It's pretty cool to power stance with moonviel. Granted, I had to use milicents prosthesis and Okina mask to hit 80 dex for the build as an astrologer and it only has 25 Int, but it's been alot of fun. Using melicents prosthesis, the talisman to boost damage after a bleed, Alexander's shard and erdtrees favor 2. You can use a few spells for herrassing/finishers, but they really aren't that great. It's a fun spell sword build though. Admittedly, I haven't tried invading with it. I've got 60 vigor 20 mind 24 end 12 str 72 dex 25 int 7 fth 9 arc Level 150
I wish there were more storm ash. Banished knight sword and shield have unique storm shield bash attack. The dual sword banished knight has storm attack spin 2 win.
I’ve always considered myself almost as skilful as chase the bro from my dark souls 3 days but I’ve really not kept up when comparing my Elden ring gameplay to this :(
