One thing that a playthrough like this does highlight *really* well is how *little* reward you get for overcoming the mountains of overlevelled phantoms. Killing a level 185~ Furled Finger nets you about 10k. Doing my normal invasions I never really thought about it because it never was for the money, but like... You fight tooth and nail and the biggest reward you get is some pocket lint.... One day we'll get our purple spines and blue tongues back, I miss my trophies.
It's kinda sad how everything is so stacked against invaders in Elden Ring and you get so few rewards. And on top of that mods to remove invasionz entirely so you're more likely to run into gankers.
It’s that time of the day again friends! Where we all gather together, listen to Chase’s chill as fuck commentary, and watch some unbelievably smooth gank spanks and pve hijinks.
Chase trying to frostbite gargoyles: "I feel like stone can get cold..." Chase trying to frostbite mariner: "Bones can get cold..." LOL to be fair, I feel the same
i always appreciate how excited/positive you usually sound about whatever area you invade into, even though it's the same spot you've warped into 7000 times before
The Great Jar duelists and Fia's Champions and are real player's builds... when Fia hugs you she steals your build for these. I usually fight them offline to get the generic duelist NPCs; they're way more consistent.
Yeah, the artifical buffs on those builds are what really grinds my gears. Once counted by having poison or rot going, and I think they have about 4-5 k HP at least ? Ridiculous. And the damn magic archer golems respawn +sigh+ Yep, as you might have guessed, I also fight them offline. Don´t ask how their HP are if you use the Seamless Co-Op Mod (it generally buffs all enemy HP to compensate) XD
*Things to see and do in The Lands Between, Season 2, Vol. 10* **WARNING** Go kill Eleonora and get Yuras quest done before meeting Shabriri in the mountain tops. *Death Counter:* 3 Storm Blade - Vol.1 Double KO!! - Vol.5 Virgin Sacrifice - Vol. 7 Jackpot? Hey Chase, I wanted to thank you for your pvp series and build videos. It helped me to have a better understanding of the mechanics of the game and overall to get better at pvp. Greetings from France.
For Rya: if you do her Liurnia quest, and take the lift she will remain right there at the lift basically forever unless you either talk to her to teleport to VM or enter VM through the front door through Mt Gelmir.

yes chase, running through the area, killing pve enemies and gaining runes from them (which you obviously cant level up with) while trying to invade is a great idea hahah jokes aside, i love this series
Everytime someone beats the Great Jar Duelists, the game register this build to use, if you play offline you get a dagger, a colossal and a wizard npcs, but online you find the most toxic meta stuff lol. Its same with FIa's simps, she register your build when you hug her in the arena and she calls you "a true champion". Personally I think its a better solution than having real players invading like in Demon's and Dark Souls III. Think that people right now is fighting your build in a NPC somewhere.
I might be the only person who would enjoy killing NPC replicas if such a system existed to test different weapons, builds, and practice parrying or backstabbing. It’s too bad you can’t replay the Great Jar trials.
I feel like chase is one of the few players with the skill, experience, gamesense, and quickswap fundamentals to actually play the game the way the devs dreamed of; effortlessly utilizing the myriad of tools and skills to gain an edge in dynamic situations. It's something I want to be able to do, but the best I can do is theorycraft; I look at a weapon and think to myself "this would be great in so and so situation" but lack the skill to put it into practice. I've been watching for 6 years since ds3 and all the weapon showcase content, It's so satisfying to see someone really bringing out the full potential of even the most unassuming equipment.
46:18 I think it’s just the builds that players use while fighting other knights of the great jar. Anyway it’s such a cool concept. I’ve definitely fought some weird builds there.
Regarding Golden Seeds, there are Ulcerated Treespirits in Wardead Catacombs, Stranded Graveyard, Minor Erdtree (Mt. Gelmir) and Altus Plateau (where Giant Crusher is). You can also fight a Putrid Avatar near Lenne's Rise in Dragonbarrow to get the Opaline Hardtear for additional defense. On the topic of NPC quests: Remember to do Seluvis' quest before advancing Ranni's quest too far, so you can get the Dung Eater puppet and get the Magic Scorpion Charm
The guy felt cheated after getting a chain backstab hahahahahaha he was like " Nah, that's too much for me, i lied about knowing how to play this game " and backed off, hist host on the other hand was feeling the parry god himself, bro was standing still like " Yeah bro! Hit me! I dare you " LOL.
fun tip: smithing stones 1 and 2 have a very good return rate if you buy and then resell them(50%). i think its one of the best items you can use to "bank" souls by buying them. i recently learned about this and i think its groundbreaking
Yeah but why bank souls at all? I have never lost souls I needed since ds 1. Spend when you have 'em and then farm when you don't. You only need enough stats to use the weapons you need. Everything else is just extras for a playthrough.
Ive been watching chase for a year I think. Got me into playing pvp since Elden ring is my first souls game. Im curious. Is there any other youtuber at this level? Honestly ive never seen anybody playing like he does. Destroying 3v1 like nothing ALL THE TIME? Is he officially the best player or what?
4:53 I believe the reason for this is that phantom stats (I think just HP and damage) get scaled down to the level of the host, and it may or may not be done in proportion to their level versus the host's level, so a dude with softcapped vigor, high endurance and mind, and two offensive stats gets his health like, quartered when he's summoned by a level 60 host. Also, 46:20 knights of the great jar are based off of players that clear the challenge using the same sort of template the mimic tears do (they inherit your quick slots, etc.) so you can wind up with some really funny stuff.
Early on in ER, I used to love using serpent-gods curved swords in my invasions. Because whenever the hosts and phantoms killed the pve, that also healed me so it was free passive recovery for longer invasions.
I cant get över the fact that Chase always beats 3 man teams, all of them spamming ashes or spells, and all that in style and without a single rage moment. Mind boggeling
Thanks for the entertaining series. Killing Morgott doesn't block any questlines as far as I'm aware. It allows you to finish Nepheli's though and also unblocks the path to the three fingers. Remember to punch Gostoc if you find yourself stuck at the end of the questline btw. This has happened to me more than once and was needed to unblock the questline. But only punch him once or he agros :)
Seeing as you've been enjoying the colossal weapons recently and haven't invested into arcane too much yet, I'd love to see you give the rotten staff a chance. Why not add some rot when they're already poisoned? Could eventually even pick up the rotten greataxe and put poison mist on that for the DoT 2 in 1.
I just realized while watching this episode after all this time that the Godskin Noble is the Michelin Man of Elden Ring. Especially when he inflates his skin costume and start rolling.
Technically it's deadly poison. It's like how the assholes in Blight Town with blowdart guns in DS1 have a toxic effect that ticks faster than toxic if you use too many dung pies. Same idea, but with poison instead of the toxic equivalent that I'd scarlet rot.
Hey Chase, I know you said you wanna do the Erdtree burning skip, but the one thing you will miss is the Somber Ancient Dragon smithing stone in the Ashen Capital. Unless you go NG+ without leveling anymore, thats an extra somber weapon to +25 you otherwise wouldn't get.
I use the summon finger while going through areas, sometimes it's kind of like a little challenge. Can I make it through an annoying area or get up a ladder or elevator before somebody summons me in ? I guess we'll find out !
From all my time running around waiting for coop, I can verify your theory is correct. Where you are when the connection is made is where you are returned.
the great jar warriors if i recall correctly base the warriors off people who have previously beaten the challenge at or around the soul level you challenge it at and each of them get an additional 2000HP ontop of whatever the players build had for HP. Granted i may be wrong, but that's the jist if i recall what i read correctly
The Gold shade Godfrey givs u the 4th talisman pouch, the sub-terrain shunning ground where after the mogh mini-boss has a chest contains Erdtree's favor +1, this makes a good pair of upgrade
I think morgot's death affects nepheli's quest, if you gave her the hawk she goes to stormveil and gives you an ancient dragon smithing stone, with gostoc selling another one in the throne room of stormveil, But i am not sure if you loose the quest if you didn't do the earlier steps before morgot. Goldmask as well mooves to the mountaintops but i think what fails the quest is killing maliketh before doing all the steps but to be on the safe side and want to do the quest you should probably do that as well since you have to meet him and the other faith guy(brother corin or something similar) in altus and leindell before meeting them on the mountaintops of the giants
Small suggestion here, and I’m not sure if you’re already doing this, but on my most recent run I collected all the emotes which was a fun side quest throughout the story
I agree that using the invading fingers while going throughout the PvE would be a good idea! Until I started my play through again after not playing for a year and half and am now having to teleport back to where I died in the invasion. 😅
Pleeeeaaasee pick up Trolls Golden Sword, it's in Altus in a chest in a carriage close to the start. My fav colossal and probably the best one for pvp after the zwei I'd say.
I’ve been doing that! Going through all the different areas with the invasion item active! It’s a good time. The academy tho? Not so much🥲😂 I dodge your wizardry by RUNNING SIDEWAYS!🤣
I once had a great jar NPC that was full bull goat, light roll, powerstanced treespear/lance. Once it fully buffed, it one shot running L1'd me through 60 vig/45% damage reduction. Fortunately it cycles to a different build if you lose, because that build is max level cheesey BS with the jar NPC buff.
I just finished my very first playthrough of Elden Ring (Amazing game by the way!). If I start "New Game" will that close off PVP areas until I go to them again?
