Nearing 100 hrs here and I'm still amazed at how much new stuff they can keep throwing at you. It's so fun exploring and I love the idea of 'can't beat this boss.. Eh I'll come back later lol' or keep trying thanks to the additions of marika statues that eliminate the slog of running back to the boss only to die on your way there lol. Torrent is so fun but he kinda trivializes alot of bosses.. Only area I haven't like yet is the Capitol. It's so massive and overwhelming boring? Just rushed to boss asap and it wasn't too hard for all that. Maybe next area will be another hit 🤠

I legitimately don't know how some people are finding EVERYTHING in an area before moving to the next and doing it in under 10-15 hours. Just riding around searching every nook and cranny for items takes so much time, not to mention killing field enemies in the process who surprisingly often drop unique items like ashes of war. That doesn't include finding all the hidden stuff in dungeons, I spent 35 hours meticulously traversing limgrave and weeping peninsula before setting foot in stormveil (absolutely smoked Margit & his goku screm imposter buddy cuz by that point I was strong from all the previous exploration). I did the same in liurnia and that was an additional 60 hours of exploration and I know there are things I didn't find. However I'm loving the process so much and only using a handful of guide videos so I can see things for myself, I don't even know what any boss encounters look like because a somewhat blind playthrough makes my downstairs tingle just like it did when I played demon's souls for the first time in 09 and knew right then that fromsoft games were really something special. Elden Ring is the penultimate game for me having invested thousands of hours across the previous titles, hell it's almost overwhelming how much land area I want to cover every time I get into a new region but I'm all here for it😫👌

same. I am at 44 hours and just started to get into stormveil after as you said, meeticulouslly traversing western limgrave and weeping peninsula. I am also reading all descriptions and immersing myself into the world. What a heroes journey it has been so far.

It's so great to see you guys back, even if only on occasion. My largest criticism with the game at this point actually counters one of your strength points - and that is the game's organic direction (or lack thereof). There are points in the game (say, one in a city near a throne) after which I had no idea where to go... and had issues getting there even after looking it up. In line with this, there are quest lines in the game that make no logical sense - To such a degree I find it hard to believe that a player discovered them (e.g., solutions were supplied from the dev team). That and, after playing for a long while, you will begin to notice things that have been copied, areas that aren't designed as well and environments that make less sense. Still, it's a difficult, deep and great game. It's a large game. Honestly, I've become a bit burned out on it and may need to take a break. It's just not pulling me back. Granted, I explored all the areas with a fine-tooth comb - and a lot of other players may not have done that (and you don't have to). That's something I do in a lot of games (which sometimes hurts the experience). It's definitely among the best games I've played.

On great runes. Do some coop. Put your sign down and help another player or hunt them down. It gives you that item you need and encourages people to help other fight bosses! It's easy to get especially with those statues where summon signs gather

Welcome back boys! Missed your content! "Not everything has to be for everybody." - That is not a controversial statement. That is only controversial for entitled people and those with crippling FOMO. Gaming (or hobbies in general) is not essential stuff like health care or education. It does not need to cater to everybody. The reason why FromSoftware games are beloved is because they create high quality games for a certain type of gamer. People asking for easy mode (basically, they want to be catered to) in their games is like asking for action combat in games like Heavy Rain, etc. If you can't stomach the difficulty, play something else.

I know FrommSoftware diehards would laugh at this comment, but BGS should take notes from Elden Ring for the next Elder Scrolls entry. Skyrim did a phenomenal job for me when it came to exploration and discovering the world in many different ways. I hope that is still present but with a bit of influence from this latest Fromm title.

Great to see you two back!! Being bombarded with open world games I have gotten used to quest markers and hand holding. Overall I considered it how games are supposed to be made so having something so different has completely shifted my perception. Exploring is a complete joy mixed with fear of the enemies ahead and excitement for the rewards. So happy for a game to smack me out of my open world slump. My other point is accessibility. Yes difficulty is the bread and butter of this series. It defines the tone and feel. However adding a optional difficulty for those with physical or mental disabilities would not change the game for those that simply cannot “get gud”. My dad is 66 and disabled. He has been gaming since table top armies were a thing and would love this game. The world, lore, and tone fascinate him. People calling for difficulty options are not being entitled, but I acknowledge that From Software isn’t required to change their design philosophy as it is their IP. It is just a shame that some people are blocked from enjoying and beating such a phenomenal landmark title that I feel everyone should be able to experience.

Great for people who can get around without map markers but I am 130 hours in on Horizon Forbidden West and I just now know the map. That being said you can take off every legend on the map etc. It has some of the most insane accessibility options I have ever seen.

I found Elden Ring to be the easiest Souls game. Isshin for me was the hardest FromSoft boss.

I'm sick of ppl comparing games to breath of the wild. That game's world is dull and empty, quests are poorly written, it has no enemy diversity, the weapon degradation system is trash and the reward for exploration is always a fricking shrine. It's the most overrated game of all time. Elden Ring is far far better than that mess of a game.

I think the unused colosseums are going to be used in some kind of PvP DLC, they have fully modeled interiors with collision mapping but there's nothing to do inside yet.
