At 11:29 , the fact that you knew the ash of war for the bloodhound's fang so well you knew that if u ran towards him to the right he would fall of is severely impressive.
@@chip2508clearly nobody in your life has ever told you this but it is severely annoying to downplay another persons success. Even more so when you’re directing it to someone who is giving another person a compliment. Needlessly jealous and egotistical. Literally nobody cares if you think it’s easy to read.
I’ve been changing my build for every weapon that really captures me and playing through the dlc at a snail’s pace with it. So far I’ve had a light-rolling bloodflame blade beast claw cleric, a keen great katana with electrify armament, and now I’m doing a perfect guard heavy milady. Out of those three weapons, the ones I’ve had by far the most time in pve and pvp with, Milady really stands out.
@@alexcanaku4176 You must’ve been reading my mind! Last night I got to the Putrescent Knight bossfight, loved it, and decided to respec and help out some buddies with it. The build I went with was an “undead Paladin” themed Blacksteel greathammer perfect guard-counter build. I wanted to make a spiritual successor to Paladin Leeroy from DKS1. Fashion was DK helm, gauntlets, and legs, and oathseeker chest. Gear was the greathammer, blacksteel greatshield, erdtree seal to cast heals, blessings, golden vow, blackflame protection, and order’s blade on the GH. Physick was holy damage buff and perfect guard. Talismans were Alex’s shard, greatshield, curved sword, and double turtle. After I helped my friends beat the Putrescent Knight I camped the grace for awhile and helped a bunch of other people with the fight. It’s a fun one. And I always felt like I was doing tons of damage thanks to order’s blade, since it does double damage to undead and PK is already weak to holy. Perfect guard is a really fun way to play greatshields, it’s very safe but still feels skillful. And it turns out it’s amazing for co-op against large bosses that would normally even overwhelm the defenses of purpose-built tanks. Of course I can’t help it if the host didn’t jump PK’s ghostflame aoe’s or whatever but when it came to holding its attention and not dying while also doing a lot of damage with guard counters and the occasional savage lion’s claw, 10/10 build for jolly co-op.
Yeah I actually vastly prefer the one-handed moveset for LGS. The sprinting heavy into light is so damn smooth and I prefer the light finisher with a double sweep instead of a sweep into thrust from the two-handed. With 80 dex keen infusion you only lose like 17 AR by one-handing instead of two-handing, so parry shield always in the offhand was really nice
@@jacobesterson Was it a gank squad though? Feels like some of you people call everything a gank squad when its literally just a host and summoning phantoms to get through an area.
So fun fact: if you use Blinkbolt on Milady you are able to near-instantly use the uncharged heavy attack as soon as you reappear and you can input queue it during the i-frames lightning segment of Blinkbolt. This is pretty fun for mixups.
Crazy how you can see the difference between hosts using crazy stuff in the dlc compared to normal weapons lol. Also Milady being a monster in 1v1s is lore accurate. Miyazaki is cooking with this weapon.
This weapon has the quicker Endure animation. So you can use it as a long range estus to trade with other players, also its better to start the attack chain with an R2 since it's has almost the same speed than the first R1, but it helps prock the multi-hit talisman faster
Loved the Suppression Pillar duel, what a great place to fight! I was a bit disappointed by your fashion though, I know you said you wanted to stack some poise but it was very pretty for using such an elegant weapon.
I’ve been enjoying the black knight armour with Maliketh gauntlets, fire knight or oathkeeper helm and Lionel’s greaves. Decent poise with bullgoat talisman.
@@WokeandProud Solitude armour is a brilliant set, I'd agree that it's one of the best looking sets. However, I personally don't think the Vagabond helm paired particularly well with the set on this occasion. I also felt that the Solitude armour isn't particularly elegant and wouldn't pair well with the graceful move set of the milady. It's just a nitpick, I know, but I enjoy Chase's content so much and I very rarely find anything; between his playstyle, armour and commentary that I can find fault in, so I felt the need to comment on it.
This weapon has the only moveset that is similar to realistic sword fighting and it is perfect for duels. I think everyone should appreciate how Fromsoft used historically accurate weapons in the dlc and not just fantasy gimmicks. Also would be nice to see you using new deflection tear. Nice vid.
I love this weapon, it's so fun to use. There are a bunch of endless combos, and the animations when you delay your attacks is so cool cause you go into a fencing guard.
Its interesting to see Quality actually winning out at levels under 160! Im pretty sure they said in the patch notes they buffed Keen infusion scaling when they actually buffed Quality, so its nice to see it actually having an effect!
I love the moveset of the light greatswords, they're very smooth and flow really well, definitely better for PVE than PVP (as someone who runs a Milady) but they're just so much fun
@@justin8865 i think it's perfect for sword and board, a direct upgrade to straight swords IMO which is what you should be comparing it to, even the description does so. Also the R2 chains into the R1 better than any other weapon fromsoft has made which is just chefs kiss
@@truedps8 I've enjoyed it in the colosseum but for invasions i haven't had too much luck with it personally, it definitely is good but I prefer it in pvp personally
@@Low_Tier_Jamal People really underestimate how light greatswords are IRL. There's a YTber that can handle a zweihander that fast while wearing plate armor.
@@giovanni0654 When you say "long and made of metal" people automatically assume heavy, but what often isn't mentioned is the obvious part - they're thin. Because, ya know, it's a sword? It's made to cut things? Same goes for plate armour, people think it's heavy but it's only around the same weight as standard Firefighter gear. Plus each set is custom made to fit a specific person so the weight is very optimally distributed, you can literally do cartwheels in full plate.
man this is the weapon i use only with the Wing Stance AoW. I was really looking forward to you using it too since im bad at the game and would have enjoyed seeing what a true master can get out of it. The Wing Stance R2 has a built in dodge! its so cool!
Yea I was hoping he would be using it as well. Maybe he just didn’t have it. It’s light attack chains into the heavy as well. Huge distance on the r2 wing stance
For me the wind up animation for the stance feels to long. It's not near as responsive as stuff like unsheath or square off. So I was actually interested to see what other ashes of wars he preferred to use with it.
@@climhazzard115 the start up is a little slow. I do a ton of rolling into square off light attacks and unsheethe and you notice it doing rolling into holding it down. Hopefully it’s sped up a bit. But I still can use it the same way I just need a small amount of more time. You can do the light straight into the heavy which can’t be done on square off or unsheethe though which is pretty huge
Gotta say, while I am not normally one to watch PvP videos for Elden Ring or really watch content creators for it, Chase just has such an awesome energy and is so upbeat through everything. Absolutely top-class individual. Cheers.
Great video! I'm glad you showcased the Milady. I'd also like to see the Obsidian Lamina in the near future, there isn't much on RU-vid about it other than some people showing what the AoW does.
@chasethebro Yaaayyy the Frostbite milady made an appearance. You've taught me more than I thought you would with the weapon as well, so thank you! I'm so glad this video dropped today. I was being patient and it paid off. Can't wait to see what you showcase next.
Hey Chase the Bro, enjoying your content, you are great at PvP! Not sure if you have done this already but would love to see a guide by you to PvP. Watching you play is a guide enough to the builds you do but one going over the basics of switching gear, mouse vs controller etc. Not sure if that is a good video idea but id love to see something of that sort!
The second I found this sword, I knew it was my new favorite weapon. I was waiting for you to release this video since I found it!!! Thanks for all the knowledge brother.
Thanks for showing this weapon, it’s become my absolute fav! Also I found the lightning infusion on it seemed to be the highest damage output scaling off of dex plus
Leda's Greatsword is also spectacular with it's ash of war. The slice it does has a hotbox and can stun smaller enemies, and the needles that spawn can appear at long range and track the foe
I love this weapon, although I don't know how to feel about the new weapon types having so few varieties they're still all an absolute blast to play with and I can appreciate not having to search for a particular drop to minmax a given build
I was happy they added a special ready stance to this weapon, like the square off for straight swords or unsheathe for katanas. And I want to say this gives a little more poise damage. Depending on your play style, this pairs well Rellana's Cameo.
I just finished a run with this build, cold milady with wing stance, millicent prosthesis/rotten winged sword/alexander shard/two handed sword talisman, it was really fun and shreds everything
Milady has a cool move set! I found this weapon when I was first running through the DLC and was too busy laughing at its name to seriously try it out. Gonna have to give it a shot now
Something I tried with the m'lady was to use blink bolt WA on one of them, it effectively provides another opening attack thanks to panic rolls, that way you don't have to just use the jump attacks.
After the jumping heavy second hit staggers impaling thrust will rollcatch. impaling thrust also helps cover the weapons weakness in hyper armor trades as its range and stagger allow you to avoid the attempted trade and get a strong hit in
I think a video for the claws of night would be great. The ash of war does really good damage in pvp when combined with Alexander Shard + Smithing Talisman, and it combined with ranged heavy attacks and running r2s means its really easy to keep up pressure and add on damage to people trying to heal
I love Leda's Sword for my faith build. It's such a nice moveset with a variety of attacks, mix ups and combo's with forward momentum. I've missed the first attack but continued the combo to then hit them with the second and third and it's just so nice. It's also really fast on the 1 handed running light attack to the point you can get in, attack and get out again before some colossal weapons can hit you. I've made people look like fools with this weapon but it also has it's weaknesses which is the poise and it's lower damage which makes trading impossible. Biggest counter is a greatshield poke build. You really can't trade and put enough stamina damage on the shield in time before you die. Basically have to hope they make a mistake.
Milady is next to the Ancient Meteoric Ore Blade, Freyja's Greatsword and the Sword Lance my favourite DLC weapon *_* edit: aaaaand the Putrescence Cleaver. Can't forget this one!
Man, I had the same thought as the title, but lack to skill / know-how to pull it off against players. Very insightful to get the breakdown of stats and strategy from a pro. Maybe I'll give it another shot...
I've been using mostly milady throughout the dlc and i decided to put impaling thrust ash of war on and infused with magic since I'm doing an int/dex build. Doing combos like heavy to light attack into a thrust is so fun and does a stupid amount of damage on most enemies.
I love how the moveset lets you continue it even if you delay the attacks. You can wait a good two seconds between each swing and continuously combo. Beautiful weapon tbh.
I’d love to see the havoc you could wreak with the Death Knight Longhafted Axe. You can unlock the charge to aim any direction with I-frames, then lock on or aim to hit enemies from any direction. It’s a blast
Quickly became a favorite. If if would allow you to cancel out or feint, holy smokes it would be a monster. Running craigblade helps with the poise damage
