Elden Ring (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S/One) features a bunch of cool weapons that are worth highlighting. Here are some cool/useful/dangerous ones., Subscribe for more: ru-vid.com?su... #EldenRing
When a game makes you play it for 15 hours straight as soon as you buy it, to the point where you forget to eat and your parents yell at you, you know it's a masterpiece, and that's how it's been for me with Elden Ring lmao
When I started I did not stop playing for like 12 hours. I went through the night and I only stopped to get something to eat and more g fuel to keep playing til the next evening, then I was like "I don't want to sleep, but I have to" so I smoked a bowl to make myself pass out til sunday morning and then back to playing.
I’m sorry but Bloodhounds Fang is SO good ! It’s special ability alone deserves a spot on this list ! The fact that you can basically get a decent hit in, teleport backwards and a lot of the time dodging a deadly attack, only to follow up with a heavy hit for massive damage is SO GOOD ! I used that move alone and a jellyfish summon to take down Margit and Godrick 👌🏻💯 Anyone else loving the Bloodhound Fang ?
Yeah definitely agree, I’ve taken down even the final bosses with like 6-10 uses of the ability. Buff it bloodflame blade and you get bleed procs and it takes down bosses and strong enemies like nothing
Yep I used it all the way to level 65 and just recently re-spec'd for higher faith. But I'm confident you could beat the game using only that weapon lol
one of my favorite weapons too bad so many people use it now that most people know how to Parry it the hotbox on the follow-up r2 is also very weird for me
I’d like to mention the sword of night and flame as well. The sword by itself has respectable damage, but it’s special abilities take it next level. Using a special light attack makes you shoot a big laser at your target, and a magic heavy attack will do a close range heavy attack that does massive damage to any hostile being in your way
only thing about this sword is it requires a pretty heavy investment in both FAI & INT, 24 points each. And it's basically the only weapon in the game that requires that. Point being that doing a build focused around this sword would lock you out of so many other weapons that I don't it worth it.
@@speeik Kisame from Naruto so I guess a mage sword build? Cause Kisames sword Samehada is just a bunch of scales that shreds enemies like the grafted sword
@ThaPokéstopPapí yup Moonveil is incredible, I have it at +9 right now on my Int mage and it destroys. I'm also at the final steps to dark moon greatsword, dunno if I should respec for it on my mage, but Moonveil is really OP
6:32 Always check the weapon descriptions, a lot of weapons do more than what the stats show, for example this bow does even more damage if you use magic arrows and not just regular arrows, incantation seals boost the power according to different schools, some weapons give runes on hit, others give hp on hit, pretty much most of the items have a "obscure" effect. This is actually my favorite mechanic of all :D
@@floriangregoire5592 looks like he's using a mixed set, the helm is the "Banished knight helmet" he's a heavy hitter knight somewhere around caelid and/or altus plateau i think... sorry... memory to the location is fuzzy...
careful with a horned bow. it doesnt have any specific effect at all when used with magicbone arrows, or any of the other basic magic damage arrows. it only has a special synergy with spirit dwelling arrows, and it only has a large effect when you use the weapon art. when you fire a spirit dwelling arrow from the horn bow using the native bow art, it turns into the mega shot you'll see the ancestral follower bow snipers shoot you with from like a mile away sometimes. but sadly spirit dwelling arrows arent sold infinitely anywhere so they have to be farmed. major pain in the ass. edit: ive been informed there is a merchant in mohgs place that sells them without limit. /very/ interesting indeed. horn bow lookin pretty spicy rn..
I am 50 hours into the game and I have been using it since hour 5. It's amazing. The follow up is the main reason you want use the weapon art. It does ridiculous damage and you have since your character dissappears for a second when you charge.
Rivers of Blood is my fav so far. It's 3 stage arts is amazing, bleeding build up is massive and if you mix it up with some items that increase damage each time you land a hit then it's total boss slayer (Lava Wyrm fell after only 6 hits from full arts combo with mine 40 dex and 40 arcane)
Haha me tooo Holmes! I took a day off work and basically played for three days straight when it came out. Back to the real world now but I still get at least two hours most nights. SUCH a good game!!,
A must for the lower level areas. By the middle of the game it is quite inferior to other staffs which can also get an S scaling but will end up with far more INT scaling.
@@Ezrohacker honestly, until you get 60 intelligence and can use the boss staff, im pretty sure the meteor staff does more damage than a fully upgraded other staff that i was using. Scaling is weird idk.
FYI if you two hand an item your strength is "increased" (from a requirement POV) by 1.5x. So you don't need 40 str to use Grafted Greatsword you only need 27. It's very feasible to use this weapon by Margit.
I love the Bloodhound Fang, not only because of the special ability, which is fun, but the passive ability is amazing against tougher enemies where you get to build up the bleeding. Used it to take down both Margit and Godrick.
I love the Bloodhoungds Fang is extremely good damage while also evading insane attacks. This is a awesome sword that doesn't require much stats and can be obtained easily if you can be the boss which isn't to hard. this weapon can be used for long portion of the game. This sword also destroys Margrit.
Finding this sword kept me in the game. Took me like 25 times to beat the boss who had it but I learned a lot about the game’s mechanics but just building my character around around the sword early game. I was close to leaving the game indefinitely before I found it
Bloodhounds Fang is viable all the way to the end game. Upgraded to +9 or 10 it is as viable as any weapon in the game, especially if you are invested in STR or DEX, ESPECIALLY DEX. It scales a little better with DEX but I was a STR main and I still used it all the way to the end game. The best thing about this sword is that it upgrades with Somber Smithing Stones (allowing it to be upgraded cheaper/easier) AND it allows you to apply weapon grease/weapon enchantments to it. It's one of the few weapons in the game that allows both. Shit it may be the only weapon in the game that allows both.
A personal favorite I found is the Golden Epitaph, which I found in Auriza Hero’s Grave in the Capital Outer Walls. It requires a Stonesword Key, and there’s a couple basilisks who’ll try to ambush you, but the lore, and design are fantastic. Its ability grants bonus Holy damage not just to you, but to your allies, too. It’s the closest I’ve come to getting a Master Sword in Elden Ring.
arcane stat... most people won't have 23 points put into it... >.> .> that was my main stat XD I got Reduvia early and because of it's arcane scaling and how I learned early on that it affects the bleeding buildup of Reduvia... The weapon I say everyone should at least look at is Reduvia. it is a dagger sure, so basic melee needs to be in the enemy's face, unless you build for FP, then it becomes a medium range weapon with MASSIVE bleed and you get it REALLY early, like as soon as you get the horse you can get Reduvia just gotta make your way to the cave where you find patches, literally can't meet patches without getting Reduvia first. Most enemies including bosses can bleed, only a few exceptions, and bleed deals % of max health as damage so bleed is a huge boss slayer. and because reduvia is both a melee and mid range weapon it can be useful against most enemies and bosses, and the stats for reduvia fit towards the Rivers of blood katana, arguably the best weapon in the game, or if you like massive AOE bleed and fire damage Moghwyn's Sacred Spear is a good friend. also good to note a good number of glitcheless Speedruns use Reduvia until they get the Rivers of Blood Katana. and the arcane scaling is as good as the dex even though dex technically has a higher scaling stat, due to how arcane makes bleeding more efficient. for everyone my recommendations are Reduvia, Rivers of Blood, and Moghwyn's sacred spear. all three have massive arcane scaling which means your drop chance in Elden Ring is enhanced as well as your damage, and they are very good weapons in their own right. the build almost makes no sense at first then you fight a boss who takes bleeding damage which is a vast majority, it even still makes sense to use these against bleed resist enemies/bosses because of how massively the bleed scales. yes I know that bleed is actually called hemorrhage.
It can never be something that you're already upgrading, like I wouldn't mind pumping intelligence, gives you more FP so you can spam your ash of war with, but I swear it's always got to be stupid high arcane or faith requirements
Think many people sleep on the magma wyrm greatsword. It has a decent C scaling with strength and has extra firedamage. The special attack gives you a shortrange aoe attack that decimates enemies and anyone in the magma takes extra damage. Pairs well with oilpots to make an awesome firebuild. Scaling with faith as well, which lets you use incantations as well.
There’s actually a better version of the twin blade called the “Twinnined Knight Sword”. I forgot where I got it from but it also scales with str a bit also which is 👀👀.
The Godskin Peeler is also a really good dex weapon, and possibly the best Twinblade in the game, its unique ash of war is also really cool. It's a drop from the boss of the Windmill village area in Altus Plateau.
My personal favorite from all souls game is the Claymore. Can be found ealry game in all souls games. Basic moveset and the charge thrust attack tracks enemies movement so it's good to catch enemies dodging. Can't go wrong. Good early and late game.
I love the Claymore as well. I've always ended up doing at least one playthrough with it in all the souls games, just a solid weapon from start to finish every time.
Great list! Here's a couple of honourable mentions of my own! Icerind Hatchet - low Str/Dex Hatchet which will cause frost build up on enemies with it's attacks and with it's weapon skill. Found in the Temple Quarter of Luirnia region. Sword of Night and Flame - requires investment in Int and Faith and has a unique weapon skill which changes depending on if you follow up with a Light Attack or a Heavy attack while holding the weapon skill button. Found in the Caria Manor in Luirnia.
I've been using moonveil for hours now. I'm heavy heavy heavy in int and it does crazy damage. I even put in enough to dual katana on occasion. The katana from the okina invasion in late game.
The godskin peeler twinblade has been my favorite so far. Badass name aside, it’s not too hard to get, the weapon art is so much fun, and works really well with my dex build
My list would look like this: OP Weapons you can use for a more relaxed playthrough: 1. Sword of Night and Flame (easy mode beam goes brrr!) 2. Moonveil Katana (OP weeblade) 3. Icerind Hatchet (angry icy roflstomp) Fun, good and/or interesting choices: 4. Rosus' Axe (for necromancer theme) 5. Carian Knight's Sword (has block frames before strong attack) 6. Pulley Crossbow (fires multiple bolts) 7. Fingerprint Stoneshield (best greatshield in the game? looks like you carry a tombstone) 8. Great turtle shell (Muten Roshi cosplay when it's on your back) 9. Ghiza's Wheel (it's basically a circular saw on a stick) 10. Ornamental Straight Sword (it's two swords, the weapon art is a buff and changes the charged strong attack to use both swords for a multi-hit combo)
I love the weapons and weapon arts in this game, so many viable options, I've been using the royal greatsword, hits like a truck and in pvp if you hit the weapon art it is nearly guaranteed to one shot somebody.
The Rusted Anchor is awesome! I've been using it through most of the game with full strength scaling + dmg buffing incantations, my friends say it's ugly but I think it's badass :)
Beating ranni's quest line will also allow you to get blaaids greatsword called "royal greatsword". Youll find blaaid after finishing ranni's quest, youll find him outside ranni's tower. The Swords special ability makes you almost impervious to damage while you jump into the air and then slam the sword into the ground, then dealing a massive frost explosion that can stumble and knock back most enemys. Its so much fun to use and i recomend looking up and doin ranni's quest.
First soulsborne game I have ever got past 1 boss and I cant stop playing. Barely have time to watch all this content you guys keep dropping. 10/10 game. I finally "get it"
I play a Sorcerer in Elden Ring and I love using Lusat's staff in boss encounters. The FP usage isn't good for exploring but is great for fighting bosses as a glass canon.
Great list! I been playing for a few months now and still finding great builds to play with. This game never gets old I been playing non-stop for 6 months...lol I did take a small break for Lies of P and will be playing Rebirth soon! So excited for that game.
I have used moon veil since I got it and it has carried me so far in this game. I then got the cool sword that uses the laser beam and the fire spreader (can’t remember it’s name off the top of my head) and the moonveil is still in my arsenal as one of my best weapons to use.
@@biggiechungus1294 Thing about the winged scythe unlike the halo scythe is that it blocks flask chugging with it's skill. So the winged scythe is arguably more viable than the halo scythe in pvp.
From Demon's Souls to this, even to this day, i still think the claymore is the best. Just make it a quality claymore and pump 40 dex and 40 str and you melt everything. The move set is also amazing, fast attacks compared to colossal swords, almost 270 degrees aoe normal attacks, and the only great-sword with pierce attack.
I'm very surprised the Icerind didnt make this list, Hoarfrost Stomp special ability is awesome and you can get the weapon fairly easily. scales with dex and fairly low requirement to use
The firehammer can be very useful. You get it just before you enter a lava Zone in the atlus area, and it allows you to move quickly in lava with that special move
10:09 Trivia, this also appears in their (gundam'esque) mech game Armored Core and is pretty much the strongest energy blade in the game. It could also shoot out a blue cresent slash that can instantly delete enemies if succesfully landed.
I'm rockin the Moonveil katana as a samurai hybrid and loving it. This thing is a beast that cuts through 95% of all shields and staggers everything, including bosses. Dual wield it with the uchi and its phenomenal
Bloodflame blade also works really well with the raptors claws. You can put the raptor of the mists ashes of war on the claws and use the claw ring. It basically sets you up for repeated jump attacks with little effort and build up bleed quickly at the same time! Basically a blood version of the Ravenmount Assassin invader.
Thank you for a wonderful video! I played a lot the first month after release. Been getting into the game again on a new character, but this time i'm going for the ultimate ELDEN BLING!
I was doing a dex build and got to level 64 with it but I also wanted to try out magic. I saw that the sword of night and flame had high requirements for int and faith and that if I upgraded it the bases stats alone would be better than what I was doing so I respecced to where I was able to use it and it’s a game changer. So op I feel like I’m losing fun out of the challenge of the game. I upgraded it to +10 too and now I’m level 98 about to get the moonlight great sword and might just start using it
Did you ever start using the moonlight great sword ? I just need the strength to wield it thinking about respec’ing some faith possibly tomorrow for the strength not sure tho
I’ve been using rogier’s rapier but I equipped the sacred blade ash of war👌. so now it deals extra holy damage at the slightest cost of physical damage and it allows the weapon to scale with faith along with strength and dex
Another very good weapon that you can get relatively early is the Halo Scythe. It is found in Calied and is dropped by the Scythe weilding Cleanrot Knights near the geysers. This weapon not only has great reach and physical power, it also deals holy dmg (which bypass nearly all shields and wreck a lot of bosses), and the skill fires holy destructo discs that tracks enemies with a delay that negates the AI's attempt to dodge.
@stan wainstein I'm not sure what you are saying. I can say with absolute certainty that you can use flasks as host, cooperator, and duelist on the user side. I never fought someone who had it, so I don't know if it stops invaders from healing
I am using Golden helbard, you can get it relatively early in the game, it's dropped by that golden horseman knight around dragon ruins area I think, it requires around 30 str and 12 faith to use. It has fairly good STR scaling, and it has Sacred Oath type of buff for weapon skill, which boosts your damage and defenses a lot. My backup weapon is just plain mace with Slam weapon art to deal with piercing\slash resistant enemies, mace just Smogh the hell out of them.
I personally enjoy prelates inferno crozier hits hard staggers well and can be enchanted with grease or incantations and the special move is awesome as well, prelates charge so far at +15 😘
Bloodflame Blade is amazing as well as one of the longest lasting armaments in the game. Not only does it look awesome, it gives you flat fire damage ANNNND it gives you a significant bleed build up. Granted the bleed is a hidden stat but ,it gets better, the bleed build up bar continues to fill up after after you hit a target. On top of being cheap, long lasting (like 60s), added fire dmg, free bleed, useable on any weapon without an ash of war that adds a dmg type and you're winning.
I’ve been loving my Dex build, dual wielded ornamental swords and light weight (under 25 lbs total). Fast and super powerful and the skill is holy damage with no needed faith points!
Just before watching this, i got the Meteorite Staff, which (paired with the Rock Sling spell) made Margit go from impossible to piece of cake. I found it just randomly rolling around Caelid, living life on the edge - only because you told me not to go there yet. So thanks Jake!
There's also a straight sword version of the Executioner's Blade that can be found in Caelid: the Regalia of Eochaid. It has the same exact skill but is better for a Dex/Arc build instead of a Str/Arc build
I just got the Uchigatana and a second katana I found in Caelid and oh man the builds in this game are INSANE. This game is so massive I'm amazed at how much the combat feels so much better with just a small change. Like the enemies homing on your roll kinda makes Invisible frames impossible. Little details like that make the game feel a little harder at the same time it's still more forgiving in a sense...
You can actually equip items that have higher strength requirements that you currently have by duel handing it. Hold Y or Triangle then the corresponding bumper to duel hand a weapon. It increases your strength by 50% for that weapon. Strength is the only stat affected by this, so if you have low faith srry about it.
You can also use certain talismans that boost individual stats allowing you to meet the requirements for a weapon. I use it a lot for STR weapons because I'm Dex/Faith
Something I never see people talk about is the Dragonkings Cragblade. Needs 37 dex, and it's from one of the secret bosses in the end of the game, very easy to miss. Its a heavy thrusting sword with a wicked special attack that turns you into a flying lightning cloud that ticks damage as you fly to your enemy then you come crashing down with the blade for huge damage. It also does a tonne of posture damage.
Sword of Night and Flame requires low 20s in bowth Int and faith, but it gives you instant access to DBZ level spells when you use it that can let you cheese most bosses just by upgrading it a little.
Can’t forget about the great sword found near the caelem ruins, while I don’t think the sword itself is super amazing it’s designed after the sword found in berserk which I think makes it pretty noteworthy since dark souls has always taken inspiration from the series [edit] I’ve not found the sword myself so I only know about it from online forums and such but still it really is cool of the developers to add the sword in the game
I got that pretto early in my playthrough and I’m still using it and having a hard time finding anything else that is better! The greatsword f ing melts everything
Been playing this game non-stop every day after work, its an absolute masterpiece of video gaming. Im sure will sure will still be discovering new stuff about in many years to come.
My first full playthrough of Dark Souls I ended up with with the Bastard Sword and Grasscrest Shield (cause I had no idea what I was doing first go round) but now I do every first playthrough of souls games with that same build and only then on subsequent playthroughs I fuck around with fun builds Bastard sword is such a middle of the road average weapon that it makes you feel underpowered and makes the win all the more satisfying, plus then with all the fun builds I already feel like a beast
Ive used The Moonlight for years, when i stumbled upon it in Elden Ring i was so hyped yall wouldnt believe. It felt good having my guiding Moonlight at my side once more
I'm very fond of the Cross Naginata. It looks awesome, and allows you to attack opponents from a relatively good distance. I got it very early on by following a very simple strategy: When enemys approach you, you Run. Away. If you're ok with eventually dying, that strategy helps a lot
I've been useing St trinas sword in PvP, the sleep gives you enough time for a free heavy attack or spell charge and it activates in 5 hits without the weapon art buff and 3 hits with it.
Dude sword of night and flame needs to be on this list. That thing has 2 abilities on its stance that shreds bosses and invaders alike. R1 single target laser and r2 flame wall. So useful I had to respec for it.
@@mrglass5286 I am doing a mainly int/faith build I wanted to try as many spells as I like so I started as an astrologer and then when I got this sword I made Sure that I had the minimum str/deck for it. About 30 mind after getting the 24/24 int and faith and then any more points in either faith or int will be gravy. It makes for a buld that melts bosses and I can try out all the cool sorceries and incantations. Plus with that faith you can heal and help people int co-op well if you wanna run with a friend like I have. Mainly just have to watch for distance and get stance attacks in when you get the chance
I’ve built my character specifically for the grafted great sword and I’m not disappointed. Just beat Rennala and I can wield it already. It just smashes through EVERYTHING!!!
Moonveil is my go to. Got it early on and I absolutely melt chunks off bosses with its skill since I am primarily going int. I also got the Darkmoon great sword just last night but I think ill stick to the Moonveil as I just prefer it overall.
For me the best/coolest sword is the Sacred Relic Sword obtained by the remembrance of the Elden Beast. A really good weapon to beat the rest of the games objectives or doing the New Game run. :)
Honestly the best weapon to me is "Bloodhounds Fang" It has great damage and a passive ability to make enemies bleed very much. I still use it on level 85 and I think most people just forget this weapon.
@@UnmovedFE Really? I watch many videos since the game came out and literally NO ONE EVER mentioned this weapon. Maybe it's because I mostly watch german videos.
Rogier's Rapier is literally one of the best weapons for breaking guard in Elden Ring. If you have the stats to use it's Ashes of War, spam that on a boss you're struggling with. Works better in a team that all uses it! Guard breaks all around for free riposte! (The Phalanx spells are not as good, I think the power just comes from it being an Ashes Of War varient, tried it on all Phalanx spells and none of them are as good which is sad)
@@Randymash The weapon itself isn't to great for taking the ripostes, while the Ash of War literally makes the weapon good to begin with, the best thing to do with the Ash of War is to put it on the Misericorde which is the weap with the highest crit rate in the game. Makes taking those ripostes do sickening damage.
@@Randymash No prob, enjoy taking those ripostes! Another small thing to add if ya wanna have more fun with it, if you have a spare talisman slot open use the Assassin's Crimson Dagger, it makes it so every time you score a crit, you restore hp.
Just a note about the Grafted Greatsword - Whenever you use a weapon with 2 hands, your strength stat is effectively increased by 50% rounding down. This means that to use the sword with 2 hands (which you probably would want to be doing anyways) only requires 27 strength. Still a decent amount, but fairly attainable for a strength-focused playstyle within the first few zones.
Actually, "Bloodhound's fang" that you mention in the bonus section should be in the main list imo. It delivers some massive damage, especially if you spec it up, and happens to be my most trustworthy weapon in the game so far. Doesn't rely on FP or some other stat so it's always there for me when everything else fails.
Gotta mention two more here as there wasn't much love for faith users. The Gargoyle Blackblade and Ordovis' Greatsword are two amazing weapons if you have a faith build. I'm using both of them and commonly one shot enemies either with the paired attack or their special abilities. Highly suggest them.
