I wanted to know for myself, with my body weight and my style of riding on and off-road, how many miles can I ride this Sur-Ron bike for? I do a road test in EP mode and then hit the dirt in sport mode and share my results with you.

We have two of the Segway versions. Looking at a snow bike kit for the winter. Also upgraded from the ECU, Tires, Breaks and Screen. These machines are perfect for the weekend warriors who don’t want to deal with the big moto, gas, oil & noise.

I ride an Aventon Aventure on some really rough terrain, but I have no power when it comes to getting to where I want to be, bird hunting, fishing the back country and so forth. Awesome job, well done! If you are ever in SoCal near the Sequoia National Forest, I can guide you and your Jeep on some really nice trails.

Cool, my motorbike buds from the "city" got Sur-rons and it's hard to wipe the smile off their faces. They can ride the trails close to home. I think my daughter would prefer one of these over her XR100.

Love my segway version. Easy to put in the Gladiator. Best if you have two or friends with them. Use a generator in the field for charging. Carefull not to discharge past 15% too often. Heard it does bad things.

Thanks for putting this together. As an ebike owner I can say, ebikes and these sure rons are NOT dirt bikes, they aren't mountain bikes, they're their own type of vehicle. This is not a dirt bike, don't expect it to ever be an electric version of what you're used to. And mostly, enjoy it for what it is, not what it isnt.

Charge till that charger turns off, when it hits 100% it will balance the battery for like 45 minutes and help with battery health. Great video 👍

The battery is full when the fan turns off even if it says 100%. This could take additional time charging. It’s also important to make sure the bike is turned off and the breaker is off when charging.

Hi Brad, I have a 1000 watt inverter under my rear seat so i can charge while I drive. Also have a large LifePo4 battery setup with a bit of solar on my overland trailer build to charge as well. The charger will draw a bit over 700 watts average. Been riding my Sur Ron for almost three years now and absolutely loving it the whole time! I have to admit, I've spent more on mods on my Sur Ron than my JLUR lol.

Hey, im sorry for the stupid question but whats the purpose of the inverter? im interested but im not an electrician.. but itll charge while on and moving? good to know, unless you meant charging it inside the trailer while u drive like, a car..

@@porterhouse5502 the inverter converts 12v DC power (cars in the US) to 120v AC power (like you would have at home). Setting up a system for the amount of power a sur ron charger draws takes a good bit of electrical knowledge pertaining to all the parts involved. Charging system, battery, wiring.

What rack do you use on the back of your jeep??? I ordered the new talaria so I'm in the market for a good rack to take my bike various places. I like the look of yours and need sumn capable of holding surron weight. I seen some guy lost his new surron off the back of his that may have been a strap failure tho

What is it like compared to a 250 in the desert because I’m planning on selling my crf 150r and getting a sur ron and sometimes ride my dads 250 but how does the sur ron handle in the soft sand and hill climbs?

Very cool review and test! Seems like a very fun alternative, but I think (at least for me) it shows that battery electric vehicles of this size arent quite there yet to be a great replacement for traditional bikes. Still though as a supplemental method of transportation or fun, really liking this SurRon!

I don't think it's great improvement of range since you pay almost 3000 dollars for the upgrade battery and controlor !

@@MrNobody_1618 your paying for power really. Its like a turbo’d car, you arent doing it for fuel economy, but you also risk reliability. I still think its fun. If i was more perceptive of keeping a 20mph limit im sure it would go further

There is a second battery and a good option to not have to wait to charge, but they are about $1500.

FIRST Enduro sunday and i think corsc will let me race my sur ron . its an hour and a half the bike might get close but i dont care ill push it if i have to

Was the 3 hours with letting the cells balance? I noticed that the fan was still running on the charger when you stopped the clock. Also check air pressure in the forks, mine only came with 90 pounds in it. I put 150 in it and adjusted the rebound and preload. Made a huge difference.

I also turned the regen completely off. Went with a 56 tooth rear and I am really happy with the performance. Never going to replace my 16 200xcw, but so far a fun bike. @@StoryRecon

You should get the upgraded seat its awesome. And get the seat extender and raise the bars. I have been riding mine for three years now,and I get about 25-30 miles in the woods.

I just bought one for commuting. My other bike is a Honda Fury and not only was the control placement an issue for me but adjusting to the difference between a 76 inch wheel base vs a 49 inch wheel base and foot pegs underneath you vs foot pegs out in front. But I'm loving all the quietness.

@@ChristianWysocki Well it was great while I had it. My gasoline consumption went way down. But I'm sad to report that my SurRon has already been stolen. I used to use a thick cable to lock it up but one day I saw evidence of someone's unsuccessful attempt to use a bolt cutter on it, so I switched to one of those "U" shaped locks and started parking in a different place. That held them off for a few more months but eventually they won. Mind you, I'm talking about LAX here where thieves abound. It's such a tempting target though, I think the only way to secure it in big city is to keep it out of sight inside unless you're actually riding it.

I want this bike so bad but I'm a bit concercened about its battery range. Usually my friend's and I go. For a ride for 5 hours, obviously stopping and camping in the middle of nowhere . I think I would have to get an extra battery and also a power station. Both accessories will rise the price heavily so not sure if I should get the ebike or just buy a great gasoline bike for the same price. At the end I want to have fun and don't be stressed in the middle of the ride worrying about the battery. What do you people think?

Imagine in couple or years.. You have your cybertruck you go in the desert and you take your sur ron Come back for a break and recharge the battery with the cybertruck and keep going the afrernoon, and maybe camp in the desert to see the milkyway at night with a warming fire and barbecue to keep you company that must be great !

Those are so cool, but I couldn't have one where I live. In Rhode Island, the state sees no difference between that and a full-on dirt bike. Also, being as you don't pedal it and it has a motor, you can't take it on mountain bike trails. So since there's no legal dirt bike trails in Rhode Island, I legally couldn't ride that here unless I had private land. Bummer.

@@hellojrod I’m just saying a rock can rip through jeans and a shirt. I’ve been riding for a long time too. As ebikes get more popular, more inexperienced riders will take them on. We need to promote safe riding just like we do with safe winching. It doesn’t matter how experienced you are with winching, you don’t cut corners because of experience.
