cool stuff dude! i've been wanting to do the exact same thing to my mx-3 to reduce parasitic hp loss. just never had time to figure out which pump i would need so this vid is a great help! now i just need to source a quick ratio steering rack to go with it and an electric waterpump to further enhance hp figures. cant wait to see this beast lay down some serious rubber, great work.
Very nice! Those pumps are ground side switches from the factory for the record. I've been wanting to do that for a while. I might actually do it this summer. You're doing good work, sir!
Dude!! This fucking great solution 👌 👏 Might do that to my KL swapped 323. My car came with power steering originally. I do have an actual spare manual 323 rack , so not sure what would be best 🤔
Thanks man I thinking doing my Landcruiser electric power steering pump thanks ware do I.get the feeding u set Outo parts I wish I could do now my truck is very hard to spin the well’s thanks if respond
Definitely considering this mod to free up room for a twin turbo kit in a 95 V8 camaro. You still enjoying the electric P/S? Can you hear it with the engine running? I am wondering if I should put it in the engine bay (possibly instead the front bumper cover on the side with the cooler on the other side) or in the rear wheel well where the stock vapor canister (EVAP) goes. If it's hidden I'll keep my stock reservoir and fill it (lots of fluid) that way. I do wonder if I would hear it in the rear wheel well with the engine running. I suppose I could just start the car and listen while jumpering it to the battery with some junk hoses looped, lol.
Hey man thanks for the comment! I love it make sure you get a really good switchable Fuse, the one i put in burnt out right away, i put a 110 a one in and no problems since, driving the car is like a simulator, watch me drift the car in one of my latest videos!
It definitely makes noise, but if I was you mount it on a gasket of some sort so the high frequency doesn't shake through the body that will quiet it down a bunch
Currently running this setup in my track car CRV, im wondering have you messed with the flow screw on the pump at all? My setup feels way too responsive with the pump on at cruising speeds, i feel i need to turn down the flow rate
