ELECTRICAL PANEL OUTSIDE?! 

Every single new house in Australia has electric box outside the house

My electrician just recommended moving our electrical box from the half bath inside to the outside wall. Now I’m confused, how is outside better?

I tried finding, advantages for outside vs inside panel, could not find. Our neighborhood is all outside. Been mostly outside where I've lived. I personally would prefer inside, makes more sense to me, more convenient at least. What are the advantages to both? Thanks in advance.

Panel outside my house here in Ontario, Canada where it snows half the year. Why would it cost "tens of thousands" to move in indoors? "Tens of thousands?" I don't think so. Maybe a couple of grand.

I work for dish network I came across a electric panel outside back yard but yet I live in denver,CO. Lol idk if it was normal.

Why do you use metal pipes with electrical wires and why do you put electrical panel outside the houses? Here in europe we have electrical panels all inside house and pipes are all plastic.

Yep, most panels are located outside the home in the US. No issues whatsoever.

Electric panels are very common outside here in the United states. Maybe you should only have your videos posted in Canada. 'Merica!

You can install power boxes outside. Are you living under a rock? They design panels outside all the time, the power companies even sign off on this. They make panels exclusively to be used outdoors. Maybe this home didn't use the right type of box, but no you aren't a super hero for noticing this. Maybe you need to learn a little more before you start making videos shaming things done in house that actually aren't even wrong

Structural Engineer here. Dear 'Merican's - Save yourself the embarrassment and learn about zone geography first before telling this poster to focus on Canada only. Most structures in the northern USA/ Canada have indoor panels due to extreme weather conditions. It provides safety on too many fronts to mention. Secondly, if houses/ commercial buildings were built anything like the shoddy cra*pmanship I've had to consult on in Western states like Nevada southwards, in Canada - they'd have their panels on the outside like y'all and would be wondering why their houses catch on fire or who be stealing their electricity. Their codes and building standards in most areas are far superior to the US, where in many states, a Styrofoam box can be considered a safe dwelling and sold for millions.
