Another day on the job , installing some extra call points onto a standard non addressable fire alarm system . Music by Joakim Karud Dreams and day good night .
Like the band strap idea. For round cables try the jokari tools great for fp. Have you tried the concrete screws like wall dogs for mounting your fire Alarm stuff no ralw plug required which I am told is the way to go these days.
What you call "trunking" we call "wire mold" here in the U.S. also, our plenum wires have a string in them so you don't have to risk knicking the wire. Just strip an inch off the end and pull the string.
Great videos enjoy your content, you mentioned about the end of line resistor, can you explain why they are needed in the circuit and are they only used when a radial zone/circuit is installed? any advice on this would be greatly appreciated
It is to monitor the line in case someone takes a device off or one isn’t connected properly it will show a fault at the panel the panel will always look for a healthy resistance depending on panel type
The cjrshop thanks, I actually saw it just after I asked, great vids mate, very informative, just qual’d myself and am geared up to go... like your approach, quite inspirational.. thanks
Its a Ctec panel, so a capacitor goes EOL on the alarm circuits & a 6k8 resistor goes EOL on the sounder circuit. It looks for 470ohms to trip it into fire.
The ones I use are here enjoy www.cnspowertools.co.uk/rothenberger-52000-plastic-pipe-cutter-0-42mm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_5Hj7bHl3AIVZZPtCh1akguvEAQYAyABEgLbIfD_BwE
It’s still a very grey area at the moment manufacturers are taking a while to develop suitable fixings , you can buy screws which you drive straight into concrete or brick which are good , I always strap my cables directly above , so they would never hang over a doorway or exit .
Nathan Gatenby the fixing and cable wouldn't be dangling and hanging down causing a hazard. I think it won't be long before all cable has to be tied back with metal rawl plugs along with fixings. One of the main reasons for fighter deaths is through getting tangled in fallen cable. Albeit this is only a small building.
ashley sefton plastic rawlplugs are responsible for at least 50 000 fire fighter deaths a year .if you think about it grenfell was the biggest fire the UK has seen how many fire fighters or residents for that matter were killed by dangling cables .it's a case of a problem being invented by governing bodies after a bung has been recieved and solved by manufacturers after paying the bung call me cynical PS I think if your still in a burning building when the rawlplugs have had a chance to melt youve got bigger problems than dangling cables
alarm sense is cheap and not very good, its one of apollo's worst ranges if you ask me, your much better off with apollo xp95 or apollo series 65. apollo discorvery is also good but alarmsense is quite frankly shit.
