Many thanks! I'm considering buying HRV this month, but still confused about getting manual or automatic transmission.

Hi Azzi, We're glad to help! If it helps with your decision, the CVT transmission (basically Automatic) is available on all trim levels and in the 2017, the Manual transmission is only available on the LX trim level. For the 2016, the Manual transmission is available on both the LX and EX trim levels. Good luck with your decision! Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll love it!

That was helpful! If you have a manual car, how does the brake hold work? So for example if you’re stopped on a hill at traffic lights you press the brake hold and go into neutral? And when you want to take off again do you go into first gear then let go of the clutch and accelerate? Thanks

my hrv 2019, makes weird loud mechanism noise when pull the e-brake and shut off the engine. is that normal? my local honda service center said thats normal.

Only when its necessary! It acts the same way as any parking brake in the past - only Honda (and most automotive brands) have now modernized the parking brake and made it electronic! Parking on hills for example, is always the perfect time to use this feature.

Hi, I have a honda vezel and the system is same as yours bur mine is in japanese, Can i set it to english?

I'll be honest, I have no idea. With Canadian Hondas we can switch between English, French and, I believe, Spanish. From a quick search I've done, if it was manufactured for the Japanese domestic market, it may not be able to be changed. Electronic parking brakes should be banned under safety legislation. Whosoever was the idiot that thought that this system would be an improve net. Should be fun carrying out a hill start with a manual shift!
