another excellent texas tournament for Elegant, i hope his hard work reflects on the next PGR because he deserves it. that Tweek upset was insane, it’s honestly a bummer that he ran into two extremely hard matchups for Luigi. Kudos to Marss though, it wasn’t particularly close but it made for a very exciting set.

Coming back to reanalyze this match and it’s wild how Elegant kind of conditioned Mars to stop challenging tornado, but in return made it so Mars quickly switched to spacing with Zair and playing a Rock, Paper, Scissors kind of play style. Elegant practically lost to himself because Mars is the best at adapting and punishing you for mashing. Predicting normal get ups, calling out tornadoes, SDI’ng out of all grab combos, punishing/challenging every recovery. Mars’ advantage state is so incredibly hard to beat and you can’t beat him by just mashing tornadoes or any other panic options. Same reason he beat Maister. Punishing panic options and just making them look like they’ve never played smash. You can learn so much from watching Mars sets. Funny after this Mkleo beats Mars by doing the exact same thing lol

You know elegant lost to dabuz and mars in this LTC. Elegant actually lost to dabuz and mars at the last LTC in 2019. AND elegant was double eliminated by dabuz at the LTC before that! It was 2018 and it was smash 4. That is the life of Luigi, just loose to counter picks

Love this game. So many characters can reach high results. Luigi, Samus, Joker, Byleth, Pythra, Min Min, Olimar, Roy, Pikachu, Diddy, Rob... The list is soooooo long. It's not perfectly balanced like thanos would want everything to be, but it is a great game

most of the times the commentators say Marss was "threatening" Elegant at the ledge he was actually just going for a footstool haha

IIRC my initial thought about Mythra potentially being top-top tier was that it would come down to foresight. So far it hasn't been that big of a deal, but I'm still a little worried it could get optimized into something ugly. Susceptibility to edgeguarding is the other variable. So far I'm glad she's looking reasonable because this character BORES me.

Ok. I'll admit it. Marss and Elegant are just quality smash players. Their characters might be cheesy (at times) but most people can't do it like them!

Marss hit and run kind of wack. He jumps and if he sees danger he double jump flip kick, Nairo’s zss was more entertaining to watch.
