@@woofzynskier not true, she manipulated people and had a love triangle with both brothers knowingly, just like Katherine. Her humanity was on. She killed people and was mean with her humanity off, that’s all.
I wouldn’t compare Elena to Katherine. They’re no where near the same. Their actions and situations are so different. Y’all gotta pay closer attention to these characters cause no, Elena is not exactly like Katherine at all.
her uncanny ability to make everything about her astounds me. like her best friend's mother nearly died and she tries to draw the attention to the fact that she was there.
That is not true. Like at all. Because when Stefan was saving her, he saw that she looked EXACTLY like Katherine. And he didn't love her because of that. Because when he wanted to know how she looked like her, he learnt everything about her, so he didn't fall in love with her because of how she looks it was her personality. Killing that waitress was literally so stupid even for a vampire who has their humanity off. Thats why Caroline literally had more control tham any of them.
It bothered me how they tried to control Caroline, and tell her how to deal with her grief. When she turned off her emotions, she was doing fine before they started bothering her about it.
Yeah, emotionless Elena was running and drinking fellow students, collecting memorabilia and simply bloodthirsty too risky. While the worse Caroline did on her own accord? Dismantling Stefan's motorbike 😂 We all forget that vampirism emphasises who you are (which is why Caroline run three commitees instead of one 😉) and humanity switch separates you from feelings. But you can still choose your actions, what is wrong or right. In short - Caroline was good to the core.

@@huh4206 lmao and you’re everywhere trying to bring elena down. stefan was insecure and jealous as heck when she wasn’t even dating damon, elena has every right to be concerned with stefan sleeping with rebekah, an original vampire who has betrayed them before. secondly, she was never jealous of stefan sleeping with katherine. and it’s clear that it was stefan that tried to lead her on, when she spent an entire day helping him regain his memories. that was probably the only time she’s got led on by stefan while dating damon. if i point out the crazy number of times elena has flirted with damon/ almost kissed him, while she was with stefan, it would be a never ending list. also one of elena’s main qualities is literally forgiveness. she only “bent her morals” for damon once, and then again, trying to believe that there’s a part of him that can do better from next time. you never saw her use the sentence “bent my morals” ever again in the series. especially in season 6.

If Caroline hadn't turned and grown more as a person (less dependent on validation) Elena and Bonnie still would have treated her poorly. @@ramlaabdi2272 Actually, there’s nothing wrong with hurting if your ex throws this line in your face; it undermines the authenticity of every fucking fraction of second of your relationship. In Elena’s case, it was her first foray into something she genuinely thought was true romantic love; then he pulls this undermining the whole thing shit… more than once. Stefan is that guy, the one who makes himself the centre of your universe while you’re together, more or less love bombs you, then treats you like shit the second things get hard, then when you leave & start to move on but still care about them because they were a huge part of your life they lash out even worse and will say & do anything to drive you so crazy you only feel sane when you’re with them. Stefan does this to Elena even more so once they’re separated than he does when they’re together, but he does do it when they’re together. Elena read the situation for what it was, he couldn’t deal with it so instead of just telling the truth he lashes out further & says gaslight-y things like ‘you just don’t know what I look like when I’m not in love with you’ in a tone that suggests she’s going crazy; she has every right to be hurt by that, especially because he says it to make her mad & make her hurt after it’s made clear to him that she’s not hurt by the act initially as she still knows him and has learned to expect revenge acts when she gets out of line. The fact that she was trying to make Stefan look bad for having a thing with Rebecca was a joke. Elena is so self centred. Damon literally attempted to kill Jeremy twice and, in season 1 he tried to kill Bonnie

Honestly saaaameee. She was OK character ealry in the show but I hate s4 so so much. If it wasn't for the plot armor for main characters they would all be dead so long ago
I disliked Elena after she had Damon compel Jeremy to stop grieving and then had the audacity to be upset that he was angry about it afterwards. I can't even remember if she told him or he found in her diary since he was looking for answers. Then she turned around and had Damon compel Jeremy to Denver and straight to Kol, as if she hadn't learned from it. Elena was always selfish and controlling, even in the earlier seasons. It's just when she became a vampire she became even worse.
Elena: “Stefan, what are you doing with Rebekah? She tried to kill me!” Literally everyone she knows: “Elena, what are you doing with Damon? He tried to kill me!”
Katherine became what she was because of her being disowned, her whole family being killed and having to survive for 100's of years and no doubt elena went through tough stuff too but she always had someone to help her but Katherine had to do it all on her own for a really long time without turning off her humanity, katherine became who she was cause she had to to survive but elena always had someone helping her even when she screwed them over time and time again.
Not to mention Katherine had to give up her own baby, not even got to hold her once, Klaus tried sacrificing her and she has to run for like 100s of years and her family got killed.

"I am not Katherine" - absolutely right. You are worse than her. You do the same things she does with the only difference that Katherine knows that she's bad while you're pretending to be an angel
Can we talk about the whole ‘Turning off the humanity switch’ trope and how it fell through in season 6? I’m not against Elena trying to talk Caroline down from turning her humanity switch off because…every time someone turned it off crazy s**t happened. It didn’t make sense that the writers decided to make one vampire out of _thousands_ be able to control themselves without their humanity. It’s just not realistic because how was Caroline able to contain herself? Having no humanity in this universe is similar to not having a conscience. If Caroline no longer has a conscience to prevent reckless behavior then…how was she able to stop herself from being reckless compared to the others when they turned it off…? The way Caroline was acting with “no humanity” was basically how any normal person would act if they desensitized themselves from pain and suffering. So…there was no point for the writers to have her turn it off. Imo, the only reason they wrote this was to show the audience that Stefan, Elena and Damon could’ve controlled themselves without their humanity if they really wanted to. But again, within this universe that’s _not realistic_ and makes _no sense_ . The whole point of losing one’s humanity is to do dangerous and evil s**t. If they were capable of controlling it then there would be no point to turn it off in the first place! Sorry for the rant but I needed to get that out cause no one else ever talks about it.
Because she may not have a conscience anymore but she still cares about her own self preservation she knew that acting recklessly would put her in undesirable situations every vampire without a humanity still wants to be left alone like Elena from the clip above and Damon when he locked Lexi on that roof so if not being reckless kept coralline from being bothered or having to compel police men to ignore her murders she’d choose to act normal all the other characters didn’t care about the consequences and how that may affect them later on
because turning off the humanity was just an excuse honestly. like it turned off the emotions so you didnt feel bad about anything but that was the difference between caroline and the rest of them. Caroline didnt have a desire to hurt people or see people punished. Damon hated everybody, stefan hated himself because he was weak and couldnt control his self so he created his ripper self self so he didnt have to take responsibility. elena wanted the world to pay for what happened to her. They all had vendettas caroline just didnt seem to want the world to burn
This whole humanity switch is a huge mess as a theory, because one can FEEL pleasure - so you switch off the bad things but positives stay? Or when Caroline forced Stefan to join her on her reel and had sex with him - she wanted that for revenge (so she had hurt FEELINGS) or because she felt lust? It was like Caroline said: " I turned off my feelings, not my brain". She could still decide what was more profitable and what would bother her after switching on. Caroline was master of self control and she proved it. And she didn't mind her friends being around and having fun with her, checking up on her. If she had messed up, even slightly, she would give in and go to rehab.
@@deneysiasmith9523exactly! Turning off your humanity is about your feelings, but you still have a moral and ethics. After all, good people aren’t good just because they have feelings, but for knowing the difference between wrong and right.

Every time I see that scene with Rebekah crying I just start crying on the inside and tearing up on the outside and I keep saying to my phone “Go away Elena! Go away!”
Katherine knows what she is and she doesn't want to hide it, but elena is that one girl who is guilty but tries to act innocent and has to get saved all the time cause she is too weak
This! Like, seriously! Quit it with the hypocrisy, Anti’s! Elena’s literally just doing what Katherine would to survive or Rebekah would to protect her loved ones, but go off on Elena for doing this for BOTH of those reasons, because… it, what, shows Elena isn’t the paragon of virtue Stefan & co. pedestal her as despite her being open about not being perfect just trying to be better than she used to? It shows she can be ruthless & cunning if NEED be (wake up, her daggering Elijah season 2 & double crossing Villain Damon season 1 already showed that)?
@@jessicadangerfield1539difference is, Katherine owns it and admits she's a bitch. Elena hurts others and then acts all innocent and self-righteous. At least Katherine doesn't blame the victim of her actions like Elena does.
That’s the difference between a villain and a hero… we want the villain to villain, that’s what makes it interesting. If the “good guy” does something horrible and THEN tries to act innocent and defensive and hypocritical it’s just annoying.
