Paula’s record was so incredible because it was in the days before the super shoe too. Really puts it into perspective how fast those times are. Blows my mind. Well done on 1km though!!
@@thisisjogon sorry, underestimating your mammoth efforts 🤣🤣 well done on 1.2km!! I don’t think I could even complete one lap at that pace! Every metre counts 🥵
Amazing. I can't imagine keeping up my best 5k pace for a marathon (or even my best 10k), let alone this kind of pace. Thank you for showing how amazing these people are.
This is so cool because I train for Bedford and county at that athletics stadium all the time and I’ve some park run with Rebeca Murray and my friends mum used to train with her 😂
Dont know where you come up with your ideas for your videos but another good one and a brilliant effort, i feel like swallowing sick just watching it let alone trying it.
That was as entertaining as it was painful for you!! 😂 Great video. It's just insane at how fast those paces are. Well done for holding out for 3 laps. It's easily a new 1500m track record at that pace for you, Harry
Some of your videos bring a tear to my eye because of the emotion of the video - this one brought a tear to my eye for very different reasons. I can’t imagine hitting that pace 😂
Nice experiment! Good effort! I remember back in the days when I was still interested in Tour de France and was training for my crossing the Alps by mountainbike tour. Was quite fit back then and could hold their total average speed of an insane ~40km/h for like 2minutes. After that I could hear the heartbeat behind my ears and my bpm were at 197. Insane. But then the doping scandal hit and I lost interested in the Tour de France.
That's the thing I don't understand about doping in performance sports... You'd think the authorities would realise that the only draw of their sport is the physical achievement, and if it turns out the athletes are doping then what's the point of watching? I'm a soccer fan, and if it turned out all the top teams were systematically doping I'd be really angry and disappointed, but I watch the sport for the skill, not the athleticism, so I wouldn't lose interest in the sport itself. Besides, Manchester City won the big three trophies this season with 115 corruption charges pending, so it's not like top teams cheating would be a shock...
Great video. It's difficult for us mortals to grasp how quick the elites run, but this helps put into context. Kipchoge did 8 back-to-back 15 minute park runs! Yikes!
@@thisisjogon Great thanks, Harry. Been doing some local Parkruns- thoroughly recommend Durlston Country Park next time you're in Dorset. I know you like a challenge!
Superb effort & superb video 📽 Sawyer Jnr and I ran a 10 x 400m interval session around a block near home recently. We raced our last rep; he ran 1.28 to my 1.39 🥵
Great vlog as always Sir Harry. I haven’t given up on the idea of running, but for me it just seems impossible. Do you hear from runners who never thought they’d do it? Asking for a friend 😅
Hi! High school runner here. As the upcoming XC season is looming ever so close my goal was a sub 20 5k. My stats: 5k pb (fall 2022): 20:48 mile pb (feb 2023): 5:30 2 mile pb (winter 2022): 12:40 I’ve been running constantly and am determined. Would the sub 20 mark be a goal I should be aiming for or should I be aiming for more? Thanks on any opinion 😊
You make a great point here Martin - it's a practice in ego obliteration, though perhaps running does that anyway. Becca is superb, Paula is superb, I am but a humble witness to their running greatness
@@thisisjogonI say this as someone who loves running… If I went to park run I should aim for roughly what I can achieve..(just under 20m) Me running with people running 14.50 is genuinely gonna piss me off 🤣
