My honest musings: I am very impressed by the opening noise comparison. Compared to my 1990ish 20 gal cast iron 4hp 6.4 cfm@90psi which is super noisy, this has better specs and is rotary rather than recip, and would be MUCH better for my current shop and CNC plasma cutting setup. And the fact that you can literally buy the individual components (currently?) is such a bonus, but the fully assembled price of 2.3K is fully worth it considering other options out there. The link in the description does not work (404) nor does the Eastwood comment link. I highly appreciate that you showed the internals and how it works theoretically. I am a bit concerned with the porosity in the casting of the face plate where you can see a small void 2:33 Will this affect the life/efficiency of the scroll?
It's made in China. I called them up. I have a 5hp Eaton and I'm very happy with it. Not quite, but made in the USA and given me no problem for over 10 years.
