At my best age (when I considered myself a good runner) could hold that speed for exactly 1 km. After the race I was lying flat on the track hoping to survive. This guy tops that performance 42 times and jumps around celebrating afterwards. I can only admire such an athlete.
Once i was in a competition with Paul Tergat, i was a kid and he was a special guest. I was able to stay with him just one lap. It's unbelievable how a top runner could go.
You don't seem to understand the amount of training they do to prepare for this. His VO2 Max is definitely insane to be able to keep that pace after so long. As for fatigue, it's because he doesn't have much muscle mass for him to be "tired" therefore his lactic acid threshold shouldn't affect him as much. That's why it's easier for them to run for long distances without having to expend too much energy since they don't have much muscle mass to supplement.
@@stan248 Your heart will not slow down so fast anyway, it's about muscle contractions. It's good to keep going slow after you finnish or just keep walking for a while.
The guy finished the race , like he just ran down to the shops to grab a chocolate bar. How on earth can someone look that good running a marathon. Absolutely amazing!
@@Defender78 I just calculated. He averaged 4 min 34.5 seconds per mile over 26 miles! It's almost super human. Most people can't even sprint at that speed!
"In life, the idea is to be happy. So, I believe in calm, simple, low-profile life. You live simple, you train hard and live an honest life. Then you are free." Eliud Kipchoge
I went to the bathroom and was relieved, satisfied and happy....Paul Toy...Happiness is NOT everlasting joy.It depends on happenings such as these. It's ephemeral. Therefore love is everlasting and better than happiness. You're a fantastic athlete Eliud.May you experience eternal joy in love.
41.2 km in just shy over 2 hours. It's insane and unreal that this man manages to keep his pace through out the entire race. Yet still had the energy to celebrate and even ran up to his coach after he crossed the finish line. Respect.
Teabonesteak he didn’t go in front of him. He clearly went behind him. Pause at 1:50 if you don’t believe him. Also, as said from the guy above you, he’s there for a reason and he’s helping eliud pace
@@angoose3172 perfect response. Unless you come and train here in Kenya in the mountains like Eliud Kipchoge and the rest do. You stand no chance of running his record time.
Even if u can Transfuse yourself to match His Hb and Red Cell Count. You still cannot do what he did. No one can At the moment, He doesn't live alone in that "another planet" yet he's the only one who did it. It's not only the Area where you Live, its Years of Training and Determination as well.
bro i would die running for about 1:30 minutes only. -_- The best part is that when he finished he doesnt even look tired, like he just came from his apartment to buy hotdog across the street. what a MAN!
For those who think they can't achieve such levels you're right, but it doesn't mean you cannot get close. Julien Wanders relocated to Kenya and trained there for some years and broke the European half marathon record...so it's possible to get to such levels even if for a small %
@@runcaz7802 hey man u can try if you want I DIDN'T SAY THAT YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO even if you don't break the world record good job and also GOOD LUCK 👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊🤘🤘🤘🤘💪💪💪
I love and respect Kipchoge from Ethiopia 🇪🇹❤🇰🇪 If the 2K's(Kipchoge and Kenenisa) were competing in this event, it doesn't matter who wins, but both will make it in under 2 hours. The 2K's are the GOAT of all time in the history of long distances.
Kipchoge speaks of competing with Kenenisa Bekele with great respect and said he only defeated him once in their track careers, Bekele’s records are superhuman. Kipchoge certainly found his niche in the marathon later on- much respect, but one wonders if Bekele had kept injury free and focused on the marathon, what would have transpired.
U inspire me a lot sir kipchoge wit huge respect..wen I c u smile after long-run n achieve new records is always a great scene to watch...I wish I could get 10% of ua tecnics...gods among man!!
These marathon videos are always deceptive because the moving camera makes it appear he's running lower than he really is. A better perspective would be to have cameras on teh side of the road capture him as he goes by and splice that with teh moving vehicle footage. Only then can you appreciate how fast he is really running. A better idea is to go to one of these races and stand near the finish just so you can see how fast he runs by you.
Drew Taylor but Americans are arrogant about things that simply aren’t true. This may be a stereotype, but it’s probably one of the most accurate stereotypes.
Drew taylor, to be fair, a few minutes in world class marathon running is a gigantic difference. Kipchoge's record here is the biggest improvement in marathon running since 50 years ago, so I dont think anyone, Kenyan or otherwise, is going to challenge his record for a long time, unless kipchoge himself beats his own WR
Even after completing a fucking marathon in 2 hrs, he didnt even stopped for a moment for taking a breath. Amazing is a very small word. He's definitely an alien
