This is what i was getting at the other day when i said i think conservatives are more likely to make art cynically. I don't think they're incapable of making good art, there's lots of good artists who happen to be conservative. However, i have noticed a trend, especially among the "culture war" crowd, of using art as a vehicle for their political messages without any concern for whether the thing they're making is actually good. Daily Wire is imfamous for this.

God's Gang is wild because it's not a Twitter thing, it's UNIRONICALLY the passion project of someone who genuinely thought making a multi-religious cartoon based on stereotypes would be good for the world because it'd bring people together. Like the creator actually worked on animation for Disney Channel shows and he kept trying to pitch this until he eventually just gave up and found another way to get things off the ground. The first episode is on RU-vid and it's kind-of amazing because it 100% reads dead-on like actual parody even though it's completely sincere! It's actually kind-of fantastic, and I need this show to be a real thing, lol!

The thing about Archie Bunker is that the guy who played him, Carroll O’Connor, was actually a hard core liberal. The point of the character was to show how ridiculous those types of people were/are.

The main character, Norm, picks up a beer with a rainbow flag on it. Hes taken aback and says "what is this?" The girl child on the couch says "progress. It's the new norm." The theme song comes in and the only lyrics are "the new norm ain't the same as the old norm". That's it. Norm then says "I'm the old norm. I want normal beer." This had to have been written by AI. I can't imagine a human writing something this soulless.

This almost aged me 12 years, but the commentary did a counter-curse.

One of my favorite errors/inconsistencies is that the dimensions of the room change constantly depending on the fake camera angle they are using. When thy do closeups of different characters they just moved the character and ANYTHING they are near to the front of the screen so the couch the the young woman is on is either NEXT to the door... or 20 feet away from it... unreal levels of crap quality. But then... if Elon is involved, is anyone surprised.

(But they were fired in 2022.... was this show on the back burner for 2 years?) as for the guy person the left in the pet play mask, if I had to make a wild guess was Mark Milley but that's the only one I'm not sure on, the other's I'm 100% on, but this one I'm less than 30% on. I don't remember any furry allegations for him.

What's crazy is that comedy from a "conservative" (as in the dictionary definition of the word) can work, if it's actually presenting its own ideas and not just trying to trigger the libs. King of the Hill was mostly centrist, but some episodes lampooned progressives and big government. And they were hilarious (i say this as a progressive who wants more government regulations). Because they rooted the jokes in story and character.

This may seem like a weird criticism, but does anyone else notice that these conservative shows love to feature main characters that seem way too old for their situation? Norm looks like he’s easily in his 60s, but has a high school aged daughter? I mean it’s not completely outlandish, but it’s just kinda weird. I think the show writers know they need that family dynamic while also pandering to the older conservative crowd. Mr Birchum is another example. He’s a Vietnam war vet, which would put him in his 70s, but he also has a 10 year old daughter. Again, not impossible, just weird, especially because traditional conservative values crowd gets mad if you don’t have a wife and kids by 25.
